Objective: To explore the feasibility of shrinking field technique after 40 Gy radiation through 18F-FDG PET/CT during treatment for patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: In 66 consecutive patients with local-advanced NSCLC, 18F-FDG PET/CT scanning was performed prior to treatment and repeated after 40 Gy. Conventionally fractionated IMRT or CRT plans to a median total dose of 66Gy (range, 60-78Gy) were generated. The target volumes were delineated in composite images of CT and PET. Plan 1 was designed for 40 Gy to the initial planning target volume (PTV) with a subsequent 20-28 Gy-boost to the shrunken PTV. Plan 2 was delivering the same dose to the initial PTV without shrinking field. Accumulated doses of normal tissues were calculated using deformable image registration during the treatment course. Results: The median GTV and PTV reduction were 35% and 30% after 40 Gy treatment. Target volume reduction was correlated with chemotherapy and sex. In plan 2, delivering the same dose to the initial PTV could have only been achieved in 10 (15.2%) patients. Significant differences (p<0.05) were observed regarding doses to the lung, spinal cord, esophagus and heart. Conclusions: Radiotherapy adaptive to tumor shrinkage determined by repeated 18F-FDG PET/CT after 40 Gy during treatment course might be feasible to spare more normal tissues, and has the potential to allow dose escalation and increased local control.

Introduction: The esophagus squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most deadly malignances, and a current challenge is the development of effective therapeutic agents. Our present work addressed the effect of HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA alone or in combination with cisplatin on the growth of ESCC in nude mice. Materials and Methods: Xenografts were established by inoculating ESCC TE-1 cells in nude mice, and transplanted tumors were treated with HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA, cisplatin alone or together. Growth was assessed by measuring tumor volume. HIF-$1{\alpha}$ mRNA and protein expression were detected using RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry, respectively. Apoptosis of ESCC TE-1 cells was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results: In our nude mice model, HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA effectively inhibited the growth of transplanted ESCC, downregulating HIF-$1{\alpha}$ mRNA and protein expression, and inducing ESCC TE-1 cell apoptosis. Notably when combinated with cisplatin, HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA showed synergistic interaction in suppressing tumor growth. Furthermore, the proportion of apoptotic cells in HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA plus cisplatin group was significantly higher than that in cisplatin or HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA-treated groups (P<0.05). Conclusions: Down-regulated HIF-$1{\alpha}$ expression induced by siRNA could effectively suppress the growth of transplanted ESCC $in$ $vivo$. HIF-$1{\alpha}$ siRNA could enhance the cytotoxicity of cisplatin, which suggests that a combination of these two agents may have potential for therapy of advanced ESCC.

A novel 3D compound {[Cu(L)(H2O)4][Cu2(SIP)2(L)2]}·2H2O (1) (L = N,N-bis(4-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,4- butane, SIP = 5-sulfoisophthalate) is hydrothermally synthesized. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 is composed of 2D anionic [Cu2(SIP)2(L)2]n 2n− double-layers and discrete 1D cationic [CuL(H2O)4]n 2n+ polymeric chains, which represents a rare 3D polypseudo-rotaxane MOF from intercalation of 1D and 2D framework. In addition, the luminescent property and electrochemical behavior of compound 1 have been investigated.

Background/Aims Antidepressants are effective in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD). However, stigma associated with FD and antidepressants may affect treatment adherence. This study aims to explore possible communication strategies to alleviate stigma and improve adherence in patients with FD. Methods In this randomized, single-center, and single-blind trial, 160 patients with FD initiating antidepressant treatment were recruited. Different communication strategies were performed when prescribing antidepressants. Participants in Group 1 were told that brain is the “headquarters” of gut, and that antidepressants could act as neuromodulators to relieve symptoms of FD through regulating the functions of gut and brain. Participants in Group 2 were told that antidepressants were empirically effective for FD. Stigma scores, medication-related stigma, treatment compliance, and efficacy were analyzed. Results After 8-week antidepressant treatment, the proportion of patients with FD with decreased stigma scores in Group 1 was significantly higher than in Group 2 (internalized stigma: 64.10% vs 12.00%; perceived stigma: 55.13% vs 13.33%; P < 0.01). Medication-related stigma was lower in Group 1 than in Group 2 (P < 0.05 for 3 of 4 questions). Concurrently, patients in Group 1 had better treatment compliance (0.71 ± 0.25 vs 0.60 ± 0.25, P < 0.01) and efficacy. In Group 1, participants with decreased post-treatment stigma scores showed better treatment compliance and efficacy than those with non-decreased scores. Decrease in stigma scores positively correlated with treatment compliance. Conclusion Improving knowledge of patients with FD of the disease and antidepressants via proper communication may be an effective way to alleviate stigma and promote adherence. Cryptochrome (CRYs) proteins have been elucidated as the molecular basis for magnetoreception in Drosophila, and a putative magnetic receptor (named IscA1) protein may aslo be involved in sensing magnetic fields in Drosophila. However, whether IscA1 has a conserved role in diverse animals and functions in orientation during animal migration is unknown. Here we report on the cloning and sequencing of the IscA1 gene from Agrotis segetum, which encodes a predicted protein IscA1 that has 131 amino acids and two conserved iron-sulphur cluster binding domains. Multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis were used to show that IscA1 had a relatively high homology from species of Noctuoidea. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction showed that IscA1 was ubiquitously expressed in adult organs and, among all developmental stages, expression was higher in adults. When Agrotis segetum was exposed to 14 h light/10 h dark, IscA1 expression also showed daily oscillations, and constant light or dark disturbed these oscillations. IscA1 expression levels in a migratory population were higher than in a reared population and higher in a southward migratory population than in a northward. These findings suggest that the IscA1 gene in A. segetum might be associated with migration and provide a molecular basis for further study on the functions of IscA1 gene in magnetoreception and potential control of the turnip moth.
A Generalized Formula for Elastic Shear Buckling of Trapezoidal Corrugated Web Girder

Trapezoidal corrugated web girder is widely used. The elastic shear buckling stress is an important parameter in the design and calculation of trapezoidal corrugated web girder. Accordingly, much research has been devoted on the analysis of typical elastic global shear buckling, elastic local buckling and elastic interactive shear buckling, and the corresponding formulae existing in a variety of literature. The results of finite element analysis suggest that there is a certain deviation in the calculated values based on classical elastic shear buckling formulae. The boundary conditions of corrugated web play an important role in the calculation of elastic shear buckling. And it is found that the shear buckling modes of the actual trapezoidal corrugated web may be called the atypical buckling, which is different from typical local buckling, global buckling and interactive buckling. The existence of the atypical buckling may result in some calculation deviations for the existing formulae of elastic shear buckling. Based on the classical elastic shear buckling formulae, a generalized formula for elastic shear buckling of trapezoidal corrugated web girder is obtained by numerical simulation. It intuitively reflects the relationships among various buckling modes. The formula has high calculation reference value and will promote the research of elastic shear buckling of trapezoidal corrugated web girder.
The Stabilization and 3D Visual Simulation of the Triple Inverted Pendulum based on CGA-PIDNN

Aiming at the triple inverted pendulum which is a strong coupling, multivariable, high-order and unsteady system, a design method of the controller based on PID neural network (PIDNN) optimized by cloud genetic algorithm (CGA) is proposed, this method is called CGA-PIDNN. CGA can be applied to learn and train the PIDNN connection weights. CGA can overcome the defect of the slow convergence rate and premature convergence for genetic algorithm (GA). PIDNN is a simple and normative network which is easy to be realized and has a good dynamic performance. The CGA-PIDNN control system of triple inverted pendulum is verified with MATLAB simulation test. The comparison results with the control effect of PIDNN control system optimized by standard GA (GA-PIDNN) are presented first. Then in LabVIEW environment, by using the combination of virtual reality technology and MATLAB, the three-dimensional (3D) animation simulation model of the triple inverted pendulum CGA-PIDNN control system is built. The simulation results indicate that CGA-PIDNN control method is effective, whose control effects are superior to those by GA-PIDNN control, it is believed that CGAPIDNN is effective and will become a promising candidate of control methods.
