Comparing Separate and Statically-Partitioned Caches for Time-Predictable Multicore Processors
Wu, Lan,Ding, Yiqiang,Zhang, Wei Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Eng 2014 Journal of Computing Science and Engineering Vol.8 No.1
In this paper, we quantitatively compare two different time-predictable multicore cache architectures, separate and statically-partitioned caches, through extensive simulation. Current research trends primarily focus on partitioned-cache architectures in order to achieve time predictability for hard real-time multicore based systems, and our experiments reveal that separate caches actually lead to much better performance and energy efficiency when compared to statically-partitioned caches, and both of them are adequate for timing analysis for real-time multicore applications.
A PROBLEM FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS OF BOUNDED AND VANISHING MEAN OSCILLATION
Wulan, Hasi Korean Mathematical Society 1998 대한수학회보 Vol.35 No.2
In this note we consider some characterizations of analytic functions of bounded and vanishing mean oscillation on the unit disk in $\mathbb{C}$ and answer a question about them in the negative.
On the coefficients characterization of BMOA functions on the unit ball
Wulan, Hasi Korean Mathematical Society 1996 대한수학회보 Vol.33 No.4
Let B denote the unit ball in $C^n(n \geq 1)$, and $\upsilon$ the 2n-dimensional Lebesgue measure on B normalized so that $\upsilon(B) = 1$, while $\sigma$ is the normalized surface measure on the boundary S of B.

This paper presents a study on the behavior of a bolted T-stub to square tube connection using Thread-fixed Oneside Bolts (TOBs) through tests and numerical simulations. It outlines a research work of four connections with focus on the failure modes and strengths of the connection under tensile load. It was observed that the thread anchor failure caused by shear failure of hole threads controlled the final failure of the connection in the tests. Meanwhile, the out-of-plane deformation of tube wall resulted in the contact separation between hole threads and bolt threads, which in turn reduced the shear strength of hole threads. Finite element models (FEMs) allowing for the configuration details of the TOBs fixed connection are then developed and compared with the test results. Subsequently, the failure mechanism of hole threads and stress distribution of each component are analyzed based on FEM results. It was concluded that the ultimate strength of connection was not only concerned with the shear strength of hole threads, but also was influenced by the plastic out-of-plane deformation of tube wall. These studies lay a foundation for the establishment of suitable design methods of this type of connection.

The membranes of cellulose acetate(CA)/Lampung Natural Zeolite (LNZ) for pervaporation were prepared by casting method with several ratios of CA/LNZ (20/20 to 40/10) wt%. The hybrid membranes were characterized for their crystallinity, morphology, and thermal stability by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results show that the interaction between the LNZ particles and CA were improved the thermal stability, crystallinity, and hydrophilicity of the hybrid membranes compared with pure CA membrane.

In this study, polybutylene succinate (PBS)/Cellulose nanofibril (CNF) composite was prepared using a two-step method, and the effect of CNF content on properties of PBS/CNF composites was investigated. To improve the dispersibility of CNF in PBS matrix, in the first step, PBS was dissolved in 1.5 % CNF suspension in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) at 65℃ with PBS/CNF ratio 90/10, and then dried in an oven dryer at 65℃ for 24h. In the second step, the PBS/CNF mixture was subjected to a twin-screw extruder at 155℃ with a screw rotation speed of 90 rpm. To compare the effect of the CNF dispersion in PBS, freeze-dried CNF and PBS were also subjected to a twin-screw extruder. The result shows that dispersing CNF in PBS using NMP solvent before subjecting to a twin-screw extruder increased the tensile properties of PBS/CNF composite. Meanwhile, the tensile properties of freeze-dried PBS/CNF composites that were directly subjected to the twin-screw extruder (one-step method) were decreased with the addition of CNF. Better tensile properties are related to better dispersion of CNF in PBS. The addition of 5% CNF can increase the tensile properties up to 13.6%.
