        In this study, we tested the influences of several κ opioid ligands on the [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine binding in rat and guinea pig cortex membrane preparations. Using paradigm to block μ and δ opioid receptors with DAMGO(1μM) and DPDPE(1μM), [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine labeled κ sites. Competition analysis in both rat and guinea pig cortex has shown a single population of [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine binding site with different Kd values, respectively. There is a significant difference in Ki values of (-) WIN44441 and (+)WIN44441 in both rat and guinea pig cortex. Bremazocine, (-)ethylketocyclazocine, (-)cyclazocine, nor-binaltorphimine effectively inhibited the [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine binding with different Ki values in rat and guinea pig cortex. U-69,593, U-50,488H and dynorphine-A (1-8) did not inhibit the [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine binding in rat but in guinea pig cortex. Nor-binaltorphimine was a ligand discriminate the κ<sub>1</sub>, and κ<sub>2</sub> receptor most effectively. We, also, examined the influence of Na ion and GTPγS, a nonhydrolyzable guanine nucleotide analog, on the inhibition of [<sup>3</sup>H]diprenorphine binding by diprenorphine, (-)ethyl-ketocyclazocine, U-69,593 and bremazocine. By the replacement of NaCl with N-methy-D-glucamine or addition of GTPγS, Ki values of diprenorpnine were not changed and that of ethylketocyclazocine were changed significantly in both rat and guinea pig cortex. The Ki value of bremazocine was decreased by removal of Na ion, and increased by GTPγS, however, was not changed by any one of either. These results suggest that there are 2 kinds of subtypes of κ opioid receptor, κ<sub>1</sub>, and κ<sub>2</sub>, showing different Ki values for various κ opioid ligands, also, bremazocine possess the antagonistic property at κ<sub>2</sub> site which is dominant subtype of K receptor in rat cortex.

        스마트 미디어 환경의 시각 인터페이스 디자인에 관한 연구

        최근 웹뿐만 아니라 모바일 전반을 아우르며 디지털 디바이스의 사용자 환경(UI :User Interface) 디자인 패러다임이 새롭게 변화하고 있다. 이러한 변화 가운데 디바이스가 다양해지고 콘텐츠들이 많아지면서 사용자들은 타 기기에서도 웹 서비스를 일관성 있게 제공받기를 원하게 되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스마트 미디어 환경에 대해 이해하고, 웹사이트 UI디자인 동향을 수집하여 특징을 알아보고, 그에 따라 분류된 레이아웃, 스크롤, 해상도, 그래픽요소, 기술 요소를 기준으로 브랜드, 프로모션, 쇼핑몰, 3가지 유형의 사례 분석을 진행하였다. 그 결과 레이아웃은 콘텐츠가 단순하고 비주얼이 강화된 일반 그리드, 브로슈어 레이아웃과 스마트기기에 적합한 블록 레이아웃의 형태가 나타났다. 스크롤은 전반적으로 태블릿, 폰에 좀 더 적합한 싱글 페이지 구조의 세로 스크롤 사이트가 늘어나고 있음을 알수 있었다. 해상도 반응의 경우 다양한 해상도에 대응하는 반응형 웹사이트가 늘어나고 있고, 그래픽 요소의 경우 직관적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 사진 이미지의 사용이 많았다. 기술적 요소는 스마트 기기에 적합한 html5, jQuery의 적용이 많았고, 세로 스크롤 방식을 통해 마우스 휠이 아닌 넘김 방식으로 스토리에 맞는 모션이 혼합되어 차별화된 경험을 제공했다. 이러한 결과로 도출된 동향을 통해 추후 웹사이트 제작 시기초자료로 활용할 수 있으리라 기대한다. Recently, with the web as well as mobile digital devices, the user experience (UI: User Interface) is a new design paradigm is changing. Among these changes, the device As more users are diverse and content to other devices, in addition to the PC consistently provide Web services were to be won. In this research, a smart media environment for the understanding and design trends by collecting website UI features to learn, and accordingly classified layout, scroll, resolution, design elements, technical elements, based on brand, promotion, shopping malls, three type of case analysis was conducted. As a result, the content, the layout is simple and regular grid with enhanced visuals, brochure layout and is suitable for smart devices in the form of a block layout appeared. Scroll structure as a whole tablet, phones, a more suitable structure of a single-page vertical scroll was found that increasing the site. Resolution corresponding to different resolutions reaction responsive Web sites is growing, graphic elements, the intuitive and reliable use of photographic images respectively. Technology components suitable for the smart devices html5, jQuery application of the common vertical scrolling mouse wheel over the story in a way that meets a non-feed is a mixture of motion were differentiated experience. As a result, the derived trends as a basis for making future web site can use to expect that.

      • Clinical usefulness of infrared thermal imaging as a non-invasive screening test for diagnosis of vascular malformations

        Background: Infrared thermal imaging (ITI), aka thermography, has been used widely in medicine, but been studied rarely its clinical application in vascular malformations (VMs). Objectives: This study investigated validity and usefulness of ITI as a new screening test to differentiate between capillary malformation (CM) and arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Methods: This study included 50 patients with VMs who conducted ITI between 2011 and 2018. They were divided into two groups; CM and AVM, and those with Parkes-Weber syndrome (PWS) were also included in AVM group. Temperature difference (ΔT) between lesional and contralateral non-lesional area was compared using ITI to calculate the maximum ΔT (ΔTmax). The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was then plotted to determine optimal cutoff value of ΔTmax. Results: Of the total 50 patients, 34 were finally diagnosed with CM, and 16 AVM (12 pure AVM, and 4 PWS). AVM group had significantly higher ΔTmax (2.57±1.23°C) than CM group (0.69±0.50°C).The area under the curve of ΔTmax for diagnosis of AVM versus CM was 0.938. The sensitivity and specificity were showed 87.5% and 94.1% (LR+, 14.87; LR-, 0.13) in cutoff value of ΔTmax 1.39°C, and 81.3% and 97.1% (LR+, 27.62; LR-, 0.19) in cutoff value of ΔTmax 1.42°C. Conclusion: The value of ΔTmax measured by ITI was useful to distinguish AVM from CM, so ITI can be employed as a new non-invasive differential screening test for uncertain VMs.

        권역심뇌혈관질환센터 사업의 비용-편익 분석

        Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate economic feasibility of operating Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Centers using cost-benefit analysis. Methods: The current study assessed cost and benefit data collected from nine hospitals which were designated as Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Centers between 2008 and 2010. Results: The operation of Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Centers reduced mortality rate and length of stay due to acute myocardial infarction and stroke and also decreased disability occurred after stroke. The total calculated cost of operating nine Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Centers was 19.85-22.30 billion won and the minimum benefit calculated was 23.98 billion won. Applying the maximum cost and the minimum benefit, the net benefit was 1.68 billion won, which is estimated to 190 million won per Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Center. Conclusions: The present study revealed that the operation of Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Centers was economically beneficial. The benefit would be larger if intangible benefit such as the long-term effects to community hospitals and enhancement of quality of life of patients and their families are considered.

        Esterase Activity and Resistance to Organophosphorus Insecticides in Larvae of Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) (Coleoptera: Silvanidae)

        Acetylcholinesterase and carboxylesterase activities of four strains of Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) larvae were examined. The three strains of VOS49, VOSF, and VOSCM were resistant to malathion, fenitrothion, and chlorpyrifos-methyl, respectively, while VOS48 was a susceptible strain. Cross-resistance to all three organophosphate insecticides tested was confirmed in larvae of the three resistant strains. Acetylcholinesterase activity was not correlated to organophosphate resistance in those resistant strains. VOS49, VOSF and VOSCM showed enhanced levels of carboxylesterase activity based on p-nitrophenyl acetate, $\alpha$-naphthyl acetate, or $\beta$-naphthyl acetate substrates. However, these activities were significantly lower than those of O. surinamensis adults. PAGE zymograms showed major differences in carboxylesterase band pattern among strains. VOS49 carboxylesterase banding pattern was significantly different from other two resistant strains. Interestingly, these larval esterase band patterns were very similar to those of O. surinamensis adults. Therefore, carboxylesterase activity of O. surinamensis plays important role in resistance to organophosphate insecticide from larval stage.

        Clinical and Neuropsychological Factors Associated with Treatment Response and Adverse Events of Atomoxetine in Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

        Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate clinical and neuropsychological factors associated with treatment response and adverse events of atomoxetine in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in Korea. Methods: Children with ADHD were recruited at the Department of Psychiatry of Asan Medical Center from April 2015 to April 2018. Diagnoses of ADHD and comorbid psychiatric disorders were confirmed with the Kiddie-Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia-Present and Lifetime Version. The subjects were subsequently treated with atomoxetine for 12 weeks and illness severity was scored using the ADHD Rating Scale, Clinical Global Impression-Severity scale (CGI-S) and/or Improvement scale (CGI-I), at pre- and post-treatment. They also completed the Advanced Test of Attention (ATA), while their caregivers completed the Korean Personality Rating Scale for Children (KPRC) at pre- and post-treatment. Independent t-test, Fisher’s exact test, χ² test, mixed between-within analysis of variance and correlation analysis were used for statistical analysis. Results: Sixty-five children with ADHD (mean age: 7.9±1.4 years, 57 boys) were enrolled, of which, 33 (50.8%) were treatment responders. Scores on the social dysfunction subscale of the KPRC (p=0.021) and commission errors on the visual ATA (p=0.036) at baseline were higher in treatment non-responders than in responders; however, the statistical significances disappeared after adjusting for multiple comparisons. Mood changes were also observed in 13 subjects (20.0%), and three of them discontinued atomoxetine due to this. Additionally, atomoxetine-emergent mood change was observed more frequently in girls (p=0.006), while the intelligence quotient (p=0.040) was higher in those subjects with mood changes than in those without. Conclusion: The results of our study suggest that clinical and neuropsychological factors could be associated with treatment response or adverse events of atomoxetine in children with ADHD. Further long-term studies with larger samples are needed.

      • <i>Gramella aestuariivivens</i> sp. nov., isolated from a tidal flat

        <P>A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming, non-flagellated and rod-shaped or ovoid bacterial strain, designated BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from a tidal flat sediment on the South Sea, South Korea. Strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> grew optimally at 30–35 °C, at pH 7.0–8.0 and in the presence of 2.0–3.0 % (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic trees based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> falls within the cluster comprising the type strains of species of the genus <I>Gramella</I> . Strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> exhibited 16S rRNA gene sequ4ence similarity values of 96.9–97.8 % to the type strains of <I>Gramella echinicola</I> , <I>Gramella gaetbulicola</I> , <I>Gramella portivictoriae</I> and <I>Gramella marina</I> and of 94.6–96.5 % to the type strains of other species of the genus <I>Gramella</I> with validly published names. Strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> contained MK-6 as the predominant menaquinone and iso-C<SUB>15 : 0</SUB> and iso-C<SUB>17 : 0</SUB> 3-OH as the major fatty acids. The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine and one unidentified lipid. The DNA G+C content of strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> was 38.9 mol% and DNA–DNA relatedness values with the type strains of <I>G. echinicola</I> , <I>G. gaetbulicola</I> , <I>G. portivictoriae</I> and <I>G. marina </I> were 12–23 %. The differential phenotypic properties, together with phylogenetic and genetic distinctiveness, revealed that strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> is separated from other species of the genus <I>Gramella</I> . On the basis of the data presented, strain BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> is considered to represent a novel species of the genus <I>Gramella</I> , for which the name <I>Gramella aestuariivivens</I> sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is BG-MY13<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KCTC 42285<SUP>T</SUP> = NBRC 110677<SUP>T</SUP>).</P>

        Nature of Late Mesoproterozoic to Early Neoproterozoic magmatism in the western Gyeonggi massif, Korean Peninsula and its tectonic significance

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The western margin of the Gyeonggi massif, southern Korean Peninsula, has preserved N–S trending Neoproterozoic and sporadic Late Mesoproterozoic metaigneous rocks. Here we present the results from systematic field mapping, sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe (SHRIMP) zircon U–Pb dating, and whole-rock geochemical analyses of the Mesoproterozoic and Early Neoproterozoic metaplutonic rocks in the Hongseong area, together with previously published data from the western Gyeonggi massif. The SHRIMP ages of these rocks are categorized into three groups: (1) Late Mesoproterozoic (ca. 1.25–1.15Ga), (2) Early Neoproterozoic (ca. 900–770Ma), and (3) late Early Neoproterozoic (ca. 762–730Ma). The geochronological and geochemical features of the Late Mesoproterozoic rocks suggest that they were possibly formed in association with convergent plate motion. The Early and late Early Neoproterozoic rocks are interpreted to arc-related orogenic and rift-related post-orogenic environments, respectively.         In [3] and [6] the concepts of smooth closure, smooth interior, smooth ${\alpha}-closure$ and smooth ${\alpha}-interior$ of a fuzzy set were introduced and some of their properties were obtained. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of several types of weak smooth compactness and weak smooth ${\alpha}-compactness$ in terms of these concepts introduced in [3] and [61 and investigate some of their properties.
