Chinese and Korean Scholars’ Narratives on Buddhism in ancient China and Korea
Santosh K. Gupta(Santosh K. Gupta ),Sanjay Kumar(Sanjay Kumar ) 강원한국학연구원 2022 국제한국학저널 Vol.12·13 No.-
Chinese and Korean scholar monks played significant role in reshaping Buddhist linkages between East Asian countries, particularly China and Korea. Transmission of Buddhist thought and culture developed scholarly people to people contact between China, Korea and neighboring states or confederacy which were more complex than today. This paper studies the narratives of Buddhist teachings, its expansion in Silk-road and narratives of Chinese and Korean Buddhist as an intermediary for assimilation of philosophical thoughts. The paper also focuses on the role of monks and scholars in forging cultural discourse of India with East Asia.

Right double inferior vena cava with obstructed retrocaval ureter is an extremely rare anomaly with only a few reported cases in the literature. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report describing ureteric repair by use of a single-incision laparoscopic technique. In addition, this report addresses the underlying surgical challenges of this repair and provides a brief review of the embryology of this anomaly. The “Santosh Postgraduate Institute ureteric tacking fixation technique” provides ease of end-to-end uretero-ureteric anastomosis in a single-incision laparoscopic surgery.

We describe a case of a solitary functioning kidney with giant hydronephrosis secondary to ureteropelvic junction obstruction in a young girl who underwent successful robot-assisted tubularized flap pyelovesicostomy. The aim of this report was to highlight the feasibility and efficacy of this technique in salvaging such renal moieties and to present a brief review of the surgical options available for the management of giant hydronephrosis.
Analysis of high speed shear characteristics of Sn-Ag-Cu solder joints
Santosh Kumar,Jae Yong Park,정재필 대한금속·재료학회 2011 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.7 No.4
A high speed shear test for Sn-Ag-Cu(3.0 wt %Sn and 0.5 wt % Ag) solder has been studied by varying shearing rate, tip height and solder volume. Failure mode analysis of the solder joint revealed that ductile and brittle failure modes coexist when the shearingspeed is 500 mm/s or higher. The higher the shearing rate, the fewer the ductile failures and the more brittle or mixed failures have been observed. Tip height variation does not have astrong impact on failure mode, but occasions for pad lift appeared to be strongly related with tip height conditions. While the maximum shear force does not provide any indication of the failure mechanism, careful analysis of the force-displacement curves showed the potential of area related indices as a method to analyze the various failure modes.
Cell penetrating peptides as an innovative approach for drug delivery; then, present and the future
Santosh Bashyal,노규빈,금태광,최영욱,이상길 한국약제학회 2016 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.46 No.3
With the rapid development of biotechnology, various macromolecules as therapeutic agents have made drug delivery an important field of research. However, these are being commercialized as injection form. Due to low patient compliance, various non-invasive routes emerge as a promising strategy. Cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) have shown to assist in efficient and non-toxic manner. They provide ample evidence to deliver of many cargoes ranging from small molecules to proteins and even nanocarriers for various applications. This review briefly discusses about introduction of CPPs, history, cellular uptake mechanisms and various possible alternative routes for CPP-conjugated drug delivery system. It also aims to give a perspective on present status of CPP-mediated research, clinical development, possible obstacles as well as future opportunities. Thus, development of novel CPPs that are safe, tissue-specific and highly efficient will be exemplified and become ideal vehicles for therapeutic delivery in near future.
Delivery of biopharmaceuticals using combination of liposome and iontophoresis: a review
Santosh Bashyal,이상길 한국약제학회 2015 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.45 No.7
Non-invasive route for the delivery of biopharmaceuticals is one of the interesting areas in drug delivery systems. Since stratum corneum is regarded as an effective physical barrier to permeation of high molecular weight biopharmaceuticals, several methods have been studied for overcoming this problem and enhancing their permeation. The one technique for better transdermal delivery is to use drug carriers such as microemulsions, nanoemulsions, solid lipid nanoparticles and liposomes. These carriers can facilitate the permeation of drugs by modifying physicochemical characteristics of entrapped ingredient. Liposomes are used as potential drug carriers to enhance the percutaneous absorption of various biopharmaceuticals. Iontophoresis is another enhancing method to increase the biomembrane permeability of ionic or charged compounds using electric potential. The new strategies combining liposomes and iontophoresis technique are increasing rapidly in the field of drug delivery and possess additional benefits. It is possible to deliver neutral drugs by entrapping them in charged vehicle and their flux can be enhanced by iontophoresis. Thus, combination of liposome and iontophoresis can be effective means for transdermal permeation of biopharmaceuticals in a non-invasive and sustainable fashion.

In the present work, an embedded PI controller is designed for speed regulation of DC servomotor over a wireless network. The embedded controller integrates PI controller with a proposed time-delay estimator and an adaptive digital Smith predictor for its real time operation, which is the novelty of the work. The real time or rather online operation of the developed embedded controller over wireless network is possible mainly due to the contributions in terms of proposing a new empirical formula for time-delay estimation, viable approximation of time-delay, discretization scheme in developing the proposed adaptive Smith predictor. The proposed embedded design validates that the deterioration of control performance due to random network-induced delay are mitigated in real time. The embedded controller is designed and tested for a short-range of 100 meters, and wireless technology chosen is suitable for biomedical applications.
Unusual intraosseous transmigration of impacted tooth
Santosh Kumar,Arun Srinivas Urala,Taranath Kamath,Priyanka Jayaswal,Ashima Valiathan 대한구강악안면방사선학회 2012 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.42 No.1
Transmigration of an impacted tooth through the symphyseal suture is a rare and special developmental anomaly of unknown etiology that is unique to the mandibular canine. Maxillary canine transmigration is even rarer. Transmigrated canines are particularly significant due to the aesthetic and functional importance. A maxillary lateral incisor crossing the mid-palatal suture has never been reported in the literature. The aim of this report is to present the first case of simultaneous transmigration of a lateral incisor and canine in the maxilla. The paper also reports four unusual cases of unilateral canine transmigration in the maxilla and mandible and successful eruption of one of the transmigrated mandibular canines following orthodontic traction. Etiology of transmigration and its clinical considerations are also discussed.
