The Monte Carlo (MC) method has become an indispensable part of the nuclear radiation research field. Several widely used and well-known MC packages were developed for simulation of radiation transport and interaction with matter. All these MC packages require users to prepare an input script. The input script can become lengthy for complex models. The process of preparing these input scripts is timeconsuming and error-prone. In the present work, we have developed an open-source GUI computer program for modelling radiation transport and interaction in multi-segmented slab phantoms using gridbased system for the widely used PHITS MC package. The developed tools would be useful for future users of PHITS MC package and particularly inexperienced users. The present program is distributed under GPL license and all users can freely download, modify and redistribute the program without any restrictions.
Tourist Transition Model among Tourist Attractions based on GPS Trajectory
Kasahara, Hidekazu,Watabe, Takeshi,Iiyama, Masaaki Smart Tourism Research Center 2021 Journal of smart tourism Vol.1 No.2
Before COVID-19, tourist destinations have experienced problems with congestion of both famous tourist attractions and public transportation. Over-tourism is not an issue at this time, but it is likely to rekindle after the COVID-19 pandemic ends. One method of mitigating over-tourism is to estimate tourist behavior using a tourist transition model and consequently adjust public transportation operations. In this study, we propose a construction method for a model of tourist transitions among tourist attractions based on tourist GPS trajectory data. We construct tourist transition models using actual trajectory data for tourists staying in the vicinity of Kyoto City. The results verify the model performance.

Interdisciplinary education and education for sustainable development provide a complementary approach to enhancing learners’ interdisciplinary and sustainability competencies. An interdisciplinary approach is considered a crucial method for enhancing university students’ competencies in sustainability. However, the use of integrating sustainability issues for the purpose of enhancing interdisciplinary education in universities is still under investigation. In contrast to the analyses of sustainability studies programs, this case study explores how sustainability issues could enhance interdisciplinarity in teaching and learning in non-environmentally related courses that do not have special learning objectives related to sustainability. By borrowing Biggs’ comprehensive model of teaching and learning in higher education, this case study analyzes an undergraduate general education course and a postgraduate course at a comprehensive research university in Japan from four perspectives: students’ perspectives learning environment, learning process, and learning outcomes. This qualitative case study data were collected through mixed research methods, including questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with instructors and learners. Findings demonstrate that interdisciplinary teaching and learning can be enhanced by integrating sustainability issues into non-environmentally related courses. By integrating sustainability issues into the curriculum, students and instructors from various disciplines can collaborate with the intention of enhancing students’ abilities to integrate knowledge and communicate with people from different backgrounds and experiences. The paper concludes by discussing the achievements of and barriers to incorporating sustainability themes into interdisciplinary teaching and learning in non-environmentally related courses at universities. Moreover, it provides implications of utilizing a complementary relationship between sustainability and interdisciplinarity to innovate and rethink teaching and learning in higher education to prepare students to build a sustainable future.
Optimization of Correction Factor for Linearization with Tc-99m HM PAO and Tc-99m ECD Brain SPECT
Won, Kyu Chang,Watabe, Hiroshi,Kume, Norihiko,Lee, Hyoung Woo,Hayashida, Kohei,Cho, Ihn Ho,Uyama, Chikao 영남대학교 의과대학 1999 Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine Vol.16 No.2
Development Of Entrepreneurs’ Manual For Women
Vol.2017 No.10
Increase of women entrepreneurs are expected because it may break through the stagnating local economy and change the society. However, Japanese women are not utilized fully compared with other developed countries since many women have to abandon their career after the birth of children. In another word, there is a lot of potential to use women’s ability in Japan since they may not be utilized fully. The author and her colleagues conducted hearings with women entrepreneurs to know their success factors and surveyed middle aged women in Fukushima to know their entrepreneurial and human resource development needs. Reflecting these, two days seminars for supporting the future women entrepreneurs were held twice in Iwaki city, Fukushima. Finally, a manual which is aiming to support women entrepreneurs was created as a result of the study and continuous blushing up by PDCA should be required in order to support increase of women entrepreneurs.
THE ROLE OF EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY IN CONSUMERS’ GREEN BEHAVIOUR
2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
The growing concerns about sustainable consumption encourage more consumer research on determinants that influence consumers’ green behavior. Although green consumption has risen for several decades, green adoption rates are often overestimated. This study rationalizes that developing strategies that follow human prehistorical roots may be effective in encouraging green consumption. This notion is supported by Miller (2009) regarding the reversal of direction to explaining consumer behaviour through human evolution and individual differences. Green strategies should focus on determining attributes that display specific characteristics favoured by respective peer groups. The current study introduces two evolutionary-focused priming stimuli as an ancestral motive to understand consumer behaviour. The selected evolutionary-focused stimuli represent the foundational modes in the evolutionary psychology of (1) mating (i.e. short-term mating) or (2) parenting (i.e. long-term parenting) modes. These different distinct modes are predicted to trigger different individual decisions based on each Sexual Selection strategy to pursue (Buss & Schmitt, 1993). Following Griskevicius’ et al. (2010) assertion that status signaling through pro-sociality is one of the primary green signaling mechanisms, this study further attempts to investigate the moderating effect of costly signaling. Therefore, this study aims to provide a conceptual framework with propositions on the role of evolutionary psychology in consumer decision-making in the green product context. The study proposes that viewing family-focused stimuli will induce higher buying intention on green products than viewing mating-focused stimuli. However, this effect may be moderated by costly signals.
