Indigenous Radiosynthesis of [131I]Iodobenzylguanidine ([131I]mIBG) for Neuroblastoma Imaging

Indigenous diagnostic dose of 131I-labeled meta-iodobenzylguanidine ([131I]mIBG) was prepared via Cu+ catalyzed isotope exchange reaction generated in situ by sodium metabisulfite for imaging of neuroblastoma tumor. [131I]mIBG was produced in overall 85-90% radiochemical yield. The average amount of radioactivity of [131I]mIBG was 2164 MBq (1998-2331MBq) with an average specific activity > 1000 MBq/mg at the end of synthesis. The radiochemical purity was ≥ 99.9% after purification through Dowex-1 × 8 ion exchange resin (100-150 mesh) at the date of preparation. The stability of [131I]mIBG at concentration 480-555 MBq/mL was > 97% at 4 °C after 4 days. The room temperature (25 °C) stability of [131I]mIBG was > 98% after 24 h. Biodistribution of [131I]mIBG in patient showed uptake in salivary glands, liver, spleen and excreted though urinary bladder. Neuroendocrine medicated uptake into tumor lesion and metastatic sites were noted which strongly correlate with the morphological abnormalities of patient.

Being light in weight, cold-formed steel shear wall panels (SWPs) made with light gauge steel are extensively used in residential and office buildings (low to mid-rise), particularly in structures under seismic loadings. Many design practices involve the use of fiber cement board (FCB) as sheathing material both for hollow and infilled walls. FCB is a preferred choice as cladding material due to many advantages it provides such as water resistance, lower cost, withstand temperature variation, resistance to humidity and termite attack, better acoustic insulation, and superior fire resistance properties. In the absence of design guidelines, based on cold-formed light gauge steel shear walls with FCB sheathing, the designers resolve to use the guideline available for gypsum wall board (GWB) and fiberboard (FB) available in American Iron and Steel Institute Lateral Design. As a pioneer study, an experimental program was designed to investigate the behavior of cold-formed light gauge steel shear walls, both hollow and infilled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam concrete, with FCB sheathing on both sides under monotonic loading. The tests were performed according to ASTM E564 standard. Results show that the strength of shear walls with FCB sheathing is much higher than GWB and FB sheathing, suggesting that substitute design practices are highly conservative. Test results can help designers choose desired lateral stiffness and load carrying capacity of light gauge steel SWPs more efficiently, by selecting appropriate framing, infill, and sheathing material.

Hydrogels, composed of poly(acrylamide-potassium methacrylate), cross-linked with N,N"-methylene bis-acrylamide, and having different proportions of poly(ethylene glycol) were synthesized by a free radical copolymerization technique. The effect of the cross-linkage and poly(ethylene glycol) contents on swelling in water, diffusion kinetics of water in the hydrogel matrix, stimuli response to pH, ionic strength of the external solution, and capacity for chromium(III) and uranyl ions from polluted water samples were evaluated. The results show that the swelling in water decreased. Still, the diffusion rate of water in the copolymer matrix increased with an increase in the cross-linkage and an increase in the poly(ethylene glycol) amount under the conditions of this study. Poly(ethylene glycol) addition provided another tool to adjust the swelling, diffusion kinetics, and adsorption characteristics of the hydrogel. For example, poly(ethylene glycol) addition made the hydrogel adsorb uranyl ions from polluted water.

The effect of addition of strontium in Co based catalysts during CO2 reforming of methane wasinvestigated in the temperature range 500–700℃. The Co/γ-Al2O3 supported catalysts with strontiumas a promoter (0–2.25 wt%) were prepared by incipient wet impregnation method. Numeroustechniques such as N2 adsorption–desorption isotherm, H2 temperature-programmed reduction (TPR),temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), pulse chemisorption and temperature-programmed oxidation(TPO) were applied for characterization of fresh and spent catalysts. The results of characterizations andcatalyst activity test revealed that introduction of Sr in Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst had significant effect onstability and coke suppression. The Sr addition improves the metal–support interaction as well asenhances the Lewis basicity of the catalyst. The improvement in basicity helps the chemisorption anddissociation of CO2 over the catalyst which in turn reduces carbon deposition.
Commutativity of multiplicative $b$-generalized derivations of prime rings

Consider $\mathscr{R}$ to be an associative prime ring and $\mathscr{K}$ to be a nonzero dense ideal of $\mathscr{R}$. A mapping (need not be additive) $\mathscr{F} : \mathscr{R} \rightarrow \mathscr{Q} _{mr}$ associated with derivation $d : \mathscr{R} \rightarrow \mathscr{R}$ is called a multiplicative $b$-generalized derivation if $\mathscr{F} (\alpha \delta ) = \mathscr{F} (\alpha )\delta + b\alpha d(\delta )$ holds for all $\alpha ,\delta \in \mathscr{R}$ and for any fixed $(0 \neq) b \in \mathscr{Q}_s \subseteq \mathscr{Q}_{mr}$. In this manuscript, we study the commutativity of prime rings when the map $b$-generalized derivation satisfies the strong commutativity preserving condition and moreover, we investigate the commutativity of prime rings that admit multiplicative $b$-generalized derivation, which improves many results in the literature.

Background Intellectual disability (ID) is a neurodevelopmental condition, affecting 1–3% of the population. Genetic factors play a key role causing the limitation in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior. The heterogeneity of ID makes it more difficult for genetic and clinical diagnosis. Mapping of variants through next generation DNA sequencing in consanguineous families would help to understand the molecular parthenogenesis of ID. Objective The aim of this study was to describe the genetic variants of ID in consanguineous Pakistani families. Methods We analyzed four unrelated consanguineous Pakistani families having an intellectual disability through whole exome sequencing (WES). Data was analyzed using different bioinformatics tools and software. Results We mapped four novel variants in different ID genes. Each variant is found in different family, co-segregating with a recessive pattern of inheritance. The variants found are; c.1437delG:p.Asn480Thrfs*10, mapped in FKRP, c.2041 C>A:p.Leu681Met in HIRA, c.382 C>T:p.Arg128Cys in BDH1 and c.267+1G>A:p.? identified in TRAPPC6B. Conclusions These variants help in demonstration of status and molecular basis of intellectual disability in Pakistani population leading to provision of genetic counseling services and a contribution in disease variant database.
