Emulsion graft copolymerization with sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) of methyl methacrylate(MMA) onto gelatin was carried out in aqueous solution by potassium persulfate(KPS) as an initiator and thermal degradation of graft copolymer was stuied using a dynamic and isothermal thermogravimetry in the stream of nitrogen gas with 60㎖/min at various heating rate from 4 to 20℃/min, and various time at 200℃ The optimun concentration on emulsion graft copolymerization of KPS, gelatin, MMA, reaction temperature and time were 12×10^(-4)㏖/ℓ, 6g, 6.3×10^(-1)㏖/ℓ, 65℃ and 4hours, respectively. The activation energy of polymerization was 17.8 ㎉/㏖. The range of activation energies of decomposition obtained using Friedman's method was between49~57 ㎉/㏖ and using Ozawa's method was between 44~52㎉/㏖. The thermal degradation of gelatin-g-PMMA is likely due to decomposition of PMMA branches dominantely.
Chronic Kidney Disease: A Risk Factor for Parkinson’s Disease

Background: This study aims to reveal risk factors of Parkinson’s disease (PD) within Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. A retrospective cohort was designed to clarify the association between PD and CKD through survival analysis. Methods: Based on Korea’s National Health Insurance System (NHIS), the subjects were divided into non-CKD patients and newly diagnosed CKD patients between 2003 and 2004. From 2005 to 2013, a 9 years’ surveillance was performed to detect the occurrence of PD. The association between CKD and PD was assessed using survival analysis. Subjects were divided into 4 CKD stages based on the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR): eGFR<15 (mL/min/1.73 m2), 15 to 29, 30 to 59 and 60 to 89, hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for each stages were assessed. Results: CKD patients with an eGFR less than 15 had unadjusted HR of 2.79 (95% CI=1.25∼6.21, P<0.05) and adjusted HR of 2.60 (95% CI=1.25∼6.21, P<0.05) manifesting increased risk of PD. In male patients with eGFR less than 15, the risk was even higher in unadjusted HR of 4.21 (95% CI=1.75∼10.12, P<0.05) and adjusted HR of 3.71 (95% CI=1.54∼8.91, P<0.05). However, no significant association was found within female patients. Conclusion: In this study, a statistically significant association between CKD and PD was found. A notable increase in risk was found in male CKD patients with eGFR less than 15. Thus CKD resulting uremia could lead to increased risk of PDs.
Development of Two-Dimensional Scanning Videokymography for Analysis of Vocal Fold Vibration

Objectives : We developed two-dimensional (2D) scanning videokyomography to evaluate the mucosal wave of whole vocal cords in real time to overcome the limit of preexisting stroboscopy and line scanning videokymography which could not evaluate it. Methods : We implemented a continuous light source with high brightness, a high-definition CMOS camera, and capture board for saving the data. We created the software program to analyze the image data from the system. The test of the functionality of the 2D scanning videokymography camera was performed in one of the authors (P.H.J 32 years old male). Vocal cord images were obtained during normal phonation and falsetto phonation. Images were obtained also during cough, diplophonia. Results : The system made it possible to measure objective parameters, including fundamental frequency, amplitude, regularity, mucosal wave, and phase difference, medial and lateral peak, opening versus closing duration related to vocal fold vibration. Simultaneously, it enabled analysis of the whole mucosal wave of the entire vocal fold in real time. 2D scanning videokymography was also effective for evaluating the dynamic status of the vocal fold when the subject phonated aperiodic voice. Conclusion : In conclusion, 2D scanning videokymography can support the analysis of the whole mucosal wave of the entire vocal cord with objective vocal parameters, overcoming the limitations of stroboscopy and previous line scanning videokymography techniques.
Design and Analysis of Low-Complexity Multi-Antenna Relaying for OFDM-Based Relay Networks

<P>A class of low-complexity multi-antenna relaying schemes is proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based one-way and two-way relay networks. In the proposed schemes, two single-antenna terminal nodes complete the data transfer in two time phases via a multi-antenna amplify-and-forward relay without channel state information, discrete Fourier transform (DFT), and inverse DFT. The relay signal processing consists of receive combining, power scaling, and transmit diversity, where instantaneous time domain power scaling is proposed for power scaling and power-based selection combining and cyclic delay combining are proposed for receive combining, to leverage the performance only with time domain operations. An approximation to the outage probability is also derived to predict the coded performance behavior under practical channel models. It is shown by evaluating the outage probability and coded bit error rate that the proposed schemes outperform the conventional schemes of comparable complexity.</P>

This study is on the basis on the statistics that is measured by 25 female/male players in university as an object of study, to consider the correlation between throwing power and physique for Handball player. The results of study is as follows. 1. Physique of a testee is found that for male, body-height is 179.8±5.15㎝, body weight is 76.06±2.86㎏ While for female, body height is 164.30±3.68㎝ and body weight is 61.20±4.70㎏. Both female and male showed some less value than the mean value of national representative player. 2. In the correlation among such measuring items as run, jump, and throw; For male, the connection with jumping is showed that 20m run higher relation than 100m run, as r = -0.406. ( r is the connection with long jump) Female presents the highest correlation in the connection between run and throw. So she presents the same high relation as r = -0.570 in the conncetion between 100m run and bashetball throwing. 3. Both female and male find that standing throw is the method which can throw the farthest. Male throw about 10m farther than female on an average. 4. The measurement of pass individually and sexually is similar to value between female and male. Male find that the method of shoulder pass is the fastest. 5. The measurement of shoot per location is showed similar tendency each of female and male. But the method of Jump shoot is found that female is more accurate than male. 6. In the connection between physique and long throw; While Circumference of hand, tip of fingers of physique is showed that r = 0.437, r = -0.439 each, a connection with sitting height has low relation as r = -0.236 even though standing throw. And other items is showed much lower correlation. Therefore, the longer length of the legs and arms is, the more profitable long throw is. 7. In the connection between physique and pass in general; Male player has a contrary connection with height size of body height, higher limbs, lower limbs, tip of fingers and so on. While female player presents high rational connection with chest-girth.

A number of novel small molecules, safrole oxide derivatives 4a-c, 6a-c, 9a-h, were synthesized by the reaction of safrole oxide with anilines 3 and 5, or its alkyl allyl ether derivative 7 with alkyl bromide 8 in moderate yields. The antiproliferative effects of all the target molecules on A549 cell growth were investigated and it was found that the 14 novel compounds could suppress A549 lung cancer cell growth. Among them, compound 6b was the most effective compound in inhibiting the proliferation of A549 cells.

<P>In this work, we have fabricated TIPS-pentacene TFTs with conductive polymer (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-stylenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) source/drain electrodes which is patterned by maskless laser direct patterning (LDP). The 5-microm resolution of source and drain patterns with PEDOT:PSS were clearly defined. Furthermore, the OTFTs with 10-microm channel length were successfully achieved by exposing the focused Neodymium:Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Nd:YAG) laser beam onto the spin-coated PEDOT:PSS films and developing with deionized water. The electrical performance of the TIPS-pentacene TFTs with PEDOT:PSS source/drain electrodes were improved with decrease of the sheet resistance of PEDOT:PSS films when the PEDOT:PSS films were annealed at the temperature above 200 degrees C.</P>
