This paper presents a compression-friendly low power test scheme in EDT environment. The proposed approach exploits scan slices reusing to reduce the switching activity during shifting for test scheme based on linear decompressor. To avoid the impact on encoding efficiency from resulting control data, a counter is utilized to generate control signals. Experimental results obtained for some larger ISCAS’89 and ITC’99 benchmark circuits illustrate that the proposed test application scheme can improve significantly the encoding efficiency of linear decompressor.

Background miRNAs play an important role in regulating normal animal development. Muscle tissue and fat metabolismare important for maintaining energy balance in animals. Yak has important agricultural and economic importance as itprovides milk, meat, and hair. It is used for transportation as well. However, the miRNA expression profiles of their muscleand adipose tissue are currently unknown. Objective To explore the regulatory roles of miRNAs in the skeletal muscle and adipose tissues of yak. Methods A total of 12 small RNA libraries were constructed from the skeletal muscle and adipose samples from yak aged 0.5,2.5, 4.5, and 7.5 years. High-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were used to determine the dynamic expressionprofile of miRNA, and a miRNA regulatory network related to muscle and adipose tissue development was established. Results miR-1-3p and miR-143-3p showed the highest expression during yak skeletal muscle and fat development, respectively. The MAPK and Ras signaling pathways were the pivotal pathways. miR-181-5p, miR-542-3p, and miR-424-5p mayhave key roles in skeletal muscle development, and CREBRF, GRB10, CDK1, RFX3, and EPC2 were the core target genes. While miR-127-5p, miR-379-3p, and miR-494-3p may play important regulatory roles in adipose deposition, and ETV1,XPO7, and C5AR2 were the core target genes. Conclusion This study provides valuable resources for further study of the molecular mechanisms underlying yak skeletalmuscle and adipose tissue development, and also a basis for studying the interactions between genes and miRNAs.

Two experiments were conducted in this research. Experiment 1 investigated the spatial expression characteristics of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) transporters in the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of 21-day-old broilers provided with adequate nutrient feed. Experiment 2 evaluated the effects of dietary vitamin D3 (VD3) concentration (0, 125, 250, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 IU/kg) on growth performance, bone development, and gene expression levels of intestinal Ca and P transporters in 1–21-day-old broilers provided with the negative control diet without supplemental VD3. Results in experiment 1 showed that the mRNA levels of calcium- binding protein 28-kDa (CaBP-D28k), sodium-calcium exchanger 1 (NCX1), plasma membrane calcium ATPase 1b (PMCA1b), and IIb sodium-phosphate cotransporter (NaPi-IIb) were the highest in the broiler duodenum. By contrast, the mRNA levels of inorganic phosphate transporter 1 (PiT-1) and 2 (PiT-2) were the highest in the ileum. Results in experiment 2 showed that adding 125 IU/kg VD3 increased body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI), bone weight, and percentage and weight of Ca and P in the tibia and femur of 1–21-day-old broilers compared with the negative control diet (p < 0.05). The rise in dietary VD3 levels from 125 to 1,000 IU/kg further increased the BWG, FI, and weights of the bone, ash, Ca, and P (p < 0.05). No difference in growth rate and leg bone quality was noted in the broilers provided with 1,000 and 2,000 IU/kg VD3 (p > 0.05). Supplementation with 125–2,000 IU/kg VD3 increased the mRNA abundances of intestinal Ca and P transporters to varying degrees. The mRNA level of CaBP-D28k increased by 536, 1,161, and 28 folds in the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum, respectively, after adding 1,000 IU/kg VD3. The mRNA levels of other Ca and P transporters (PMCA1b, NCX1, NaPi-IIb, PiT-1, and PiT-2) increased by 0.57–1.74 folds by adding 1,000–2,000 IU/kg VD3. These data suggest that intestinal Ca and P transporters are mainly expressed in the duodenum of broilers. Moreover, the addition of VD3 stimulates the two mineral transporter transcription in broiler intestines.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is one of the most common hematological malignancies all around the world. MicroRNAs have been determined to contribute various cancers initiation and progression, including AML. Although microRNA-204 (miR-204) exerts anti-tumor effects in several kinds of cancers, its function in AML remains unknown. In the present study, we assessed miR-204 expression in AML blood samples and cell lines. We also investigated the effects of miR-204 on cellular function of AML cells and the underlying mechanisms of the action of miR-204. Our results showed that miR-204 expression was significantly downregulated in AML tissues and cell lines. In addition, overexpression of miR-204 induced growth inhibition and apoptosis in AML cells, including AML5, HL-60, Kasumi-1 and U937 cells. Cell cycle analysis further confirmed an augmentation in theapoptotic subG1 population by miR-204 overexpression. Mechanistically, baculoviral inhibition of apoptosis protein repeat containing 6 (BIRC6) was identified as a direct target of miR-204. Enforcing miR-204 expression increased the luciferase activity and expression of BIRC6, as well as p53 and Bax expression. Moreover, restoration of BIRC6 reversed the pro-apoptotic effects of miR-204 overexpression in AML cells. Taken together, this study demonstrates that miR-204 causes AML cell apoptosis by targeting BIRC6, suggesting miR-204 may play an anti-carcinogenic role in AML and function as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target for the treatment of this disease. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) provide a promising approach to monitor the physical environments, to prolong the network lifetime by exploiting the mutual correlation among sensor readings has become a research focus. In this paper, we design a hierarchical network framework which guarantees layered-compression. Meanwhile, a data sorting-based adaptive spatial compression scheme (DS-ASCS) is proposed to explore the spatial correlation among signals. The proposed scheme reduces the amount of data transmissions and alleviates the network congestion. It also obtains high compression performance by sorting original sensor readings and selectively discarding the small coefficients in transformed matrix. Moreover, the compression ratio of this scheme varies according to the correlation among signals and the value of adaptive threshold, so the proposed scheme is adaptive to various deploying environments. Finally, the simulation results show that the energy of sorted data is more concentrated than the unsorted data, and the proposed scheme achieves higher reconstruction precision and compression ratio as compared with other spatial compression schemes.

In order to explore tick proteins as potential targets for further developing vaccine against ticks, the total proteins of unfed female Dermacentor silvarum were screened with anti-D. silvarum serum produced from rabbits. The results of western blot showed that 3 antigenic proteins of about 100, 68, and 52 kDa were detected by polyclonal antibodies, which means that they probably have immunogenicity. Then, unfed female tick proteins were separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and target proteins (100, 68, and 52 kDa) were cut and analyzed by LC-MS/MS, respectively. The comparative results of peptide sequences showed that they might be vitellogenin (Vg), heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60), and fructose-1, 6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA), respectively. These data will lay the foundation for the further validation of antigenic proteins to prevent infestation and diseases transmitted by D. silvarum.

A trial was conducted to study the influence of different levels of a commercial enzyme complex on performance, nutrient availability, blood parameters, digestive tract measurements, amylase and trypsin activity of the digestive tract and gut morphology in broilers fed the typical diets in north China. There were four treatments: the control diet and the other three enzyme complex supplemented diets which were 180 mg/kg, 360 mg/kg and 720 mg/kg enzyme complex supplemented to the control diet, respectively. The birds fed the diets supplemented with 180 mg/kg and 360 mg/kg enzyme complex had better performance and nutrient availability, the activities of amylase and trypsin in the digestive tract in the two treatments were improved, the villus height and surface area of villus in the small intestine increased and the crypt depth and epithelial thickness of small intestine decreased. Relative weights of pancreas and relative weights and lengths of small intestine decreased. However, the addition of 720 mg/kg enzyme complex had no effects on these parameters and increased crypt depth and epithelial thickness of the small intestine. The data suggested that suitable supplementation of enzyme complex was beneficial for the birds, while excess enzyme complex inhibited secretion of endogenous enzyme and destroyed the structure of the small intestine.
