In this paper ultrafine copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) were prepared from copper salt via chemical reduction method with sodium citrate dispersant and polyvinylalcol (PVA) capping polymer. The colloidal CuNPs were characterized by using UV–Visible spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) techniques. Our obtained results indicated that the CuNPs were produced ranging from 2 to 4 nm in diameter. The colloidal solution at 7 ppm of CuNPs exhibited a powerful antifungal activity against Corticium salmonicolor (C. Salmonicolor). Fungal killing assays showed colloid solutions containing 10 ppm of CuNPs killed entirely the cultured fungus. A highly killing activity against the fungus was also performed when the CuNPs were sprayed on pink disease-infected rubber trees. These positive results may offer a great potential to produce CuNPs-based eco-fungicide for pink disease.

Van Hung Nguyen,Van Du Nguyen,Van Phuc Le 한국도로학회 2018 한국도로학회 학술대회 발표논문 초록집 Vol.2018 No.05
The main objective of this research study is the performance evaluation of 40/50 and 60/70 binder for asphalt mixtures in Vietnam. To accomplish the objective of this research, a dense gradation with nominal maximum aggregate size of 19.0mm is used for the asphalt mixtures. Marshall Stability (MS) test, Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR) test, Wheel Tracking (WT) test, and Dynamic modulus test are conducted to evaluate the rutting and cracking performance of 40/50 and 60/70 binder in asphalt mixtures. It was found that the Marshall stability of asphalt mixtures using 40/50 binder is about 12% higher than asphalt mixtures using 60/70 binder while the rutting resistance of the mixtures with 40/50 binder shows 2.5 times higher than 60/70 binder at 15,000 load cycles. Moreover, the TSR of asphalt concrete using 40/50 binder and 60/70 binder are approximately 95% and 79%, respectively which means that using 40/50 binder is very good for moisture damage resistance. Finally, the dynamic modulus test was done at a reference temperature of 20oC and frequency of 1,0Hz. The dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture with 40/50 binder is about 6257 MPa, which is two times higher than asphalt mixture using 60/70 binder. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that asphalt mixtures using 40/50 binder can improve the rutting and moisture damage resistance of asphalt concrete under high temperatures and moisture conditions significantly. It is noted that these conclusions were based on only on a limited number of samples and conditions. Further studies must be conducted to investigate the effect of 40/50 binder on fatigue cracking of asphalt pavement in the field.

The n -type Hf0.25Zr0.25Ti0.5NiSn0.998Sb0.002 Half-Heusler (HH) alloy composition was prepared by using the induction melting method in addition to the mechanical grinding, annealing, and spark plasma sintering processes. Analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated the formation of a pure phase HH structured compound. The electrical and thermal properties at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 718 K were investigated. The electrical conductivity increased with increasing temperatures and demonstrated nondegenerate semiconducting behavior, and a large reduction in the thermal conductivity to the value of 2.5 W/mK at room temperature was observed. With the power factor and thermal conductivity, the dimensionless figure of merit was increased with temperature and measured at 0.94 at 718 K for the compound synthesized by the induction melting process.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The aim of this work is to prepare and evaluate a novel lipid-polymer hybrid liposomal nanoplatform (hyaluronic acid-magnetic nanoparticle-liposomes, HA-MNP-LPs) as a vehicle for targeted delivery and triggered release of an anticancer drug (docetaxel, DTX) in human breast cancer cells. We first synthesize an amphiphilic hyaluronic acid hexadecylamine polymer (HA-C16) to enhance the targeting ability of the hybrid liposome. Next, HA-MNP-LPs are constructed to achieve an average size of 189.93±2.74nm in diameter. In addition, citric acid-coated magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are prepared and embedded in the aqueous cores while DTX is encapsulated in the hydrophobic bilayers of the liposomes. Experiments with coumarin 6 loaded hybrid liposomes (C6/HA-MNP-LPs) show that the hybrid liposomes have superior cellular uptake in comparison with the conventional non-targeting liposomes (C6/MNP-LPs), and the result is further confirmed by Prussian blue staining. Under near-infrared laser irradiation (NIR, 808nm), the HA-MNP-LPs aqueous solution can reach 46.7°C in 10min, and the hybrid liposomes released over 20% more drug than the non-irradiated liposomes. Using a combination of photothermal irradiation and chemotherapy, the DTX-loaded hybrid liposomes (DTX/HA-MNP-LPs) significantly enhance therapeutic efficacy, with the IC50 value of 0.69±0.10μg/mL, which is much lower than the values for DTX monotherapy. Consequently, the prepared hybrid nanoplatform may offer a promising drug delivery vehicle with selective targeting and enhanced drug release in treating CD44-overexpressing cancers.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Novel polymer-lipid nanohybrid liposomes for active tumor targeting are synthesized. </LI> <LI> Magnetic nanoparticles and drug are encapsulated for photothermal-chemotherapy. </LI> <LI> Nanohybrid liposomes significantly enhance cellular uptake to breast cancer cells. </LI> <LI> Near-infrared light can trigger drug release from the nanohybrid liposomes. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>An effective nanoparticle-based drug delivery platform holds great promise for non-invasive cancer therapy. This study explores the breast tumor regression <I>in vivo</I> by synergistic photothermal-chemotherapy based on liposomal nanocomplex (folic acid-gold nanorods-anticancer drug-liposome). The proposed liposomal nanocomplex can enhance the tumor targeting by functionalizing folic acid (FA) molecules on the surface of liposome that encapsulates both gold nanorods (AuNRs) and the doxorubicin (DOX) to combine the photothermal therapy and the chemotherapy, respectively. Herein, 7-nm gold nanorods were fabricated and co-encapsulated with DOX into nanoliposomes functionalized with FA, with an average diameter of 154 nm, for active targeting to the cancer cells. The experimental results showed that the FA targeting liposomes had better cellular uptake than the non-targeting liposomes (AuNRs-DOX-LPs). Especially, upon 5 min exposure to near infrared (NIR) irradiation (808 nm) triggered DOX release could be achieved to 46.38% in 60 min at pH 5.5. In addition, <I>in vitro</I> cell proliferation assays indicated that, with synergistic photothermal-chemotherapy, the targeting liposomes could significantly enhance the toxicity towards the cancer cells with the IC50 value of 1.90 ± 0.12 μg mL−1. Consumption Value, Consumer Innovativeness and New Product Adoption: Empirical Evidence from Vietnam
DU, Chung Thi,NGO, Thu Thi,TRAN, Thi Van,NGUYEN, Ngoc Bich Tram Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.3
The purpose of this study is to employ the theory of consumption value and consumers' innovative personality characteristics to explain the adoption of new personal electronics devices in Vietnamese market. This study adapts a quantitative survey-based approach to test hypotheses about relationship between consumption value, product specific innovativeness and new product adoption. The study uses a quantitative data set of 915 consumers who owned one mobile electronic device at least in Ho Chi Minh city, one of the biggest cities of Vietnam. The data was collected through personal interview and convenient sampling method. The conceptual model was tested using PLS structural equation model. The findings of this study suggest that both consumption value and product specific innovativeness influence the adoption of new electronic products. The results also reveal that product specific innovativeness mediates the relationship between consumption value and new product adoption. The study further identified that consumption value was taken as a second-order multidimensions construct with five components, namely functional value, epistemic value, economic value, social value and emotional value. As a result, the research suggests some implications to enhance marketers' capabilities to develop strategies for launching new hi-tech products in an emerging market as Vietnam.
