Comparison on Safety Features among HTGR’s Reactor Cavity Cooling Systems (RCCSs)
Takamatsu Kuniyoshi,Funatani Shumpei 한국원자력학회 2024 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.56 No.3
Reactor cavity cooling systems (RCCSs) comprising passive safety features use the atmosphere as a coolant, which cannot be lost. However, their drawback is that they are easily affected by atmospheric disturbances. To realize the commercial application of the two types of passive RCCSs, namely RCCSs based on atmospheric radiation and atmospheric natural circulation, their safety must be evaluated, that is, they must be able to remove heat from the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) surface at all times and under any condition other than under normal operating conditions. These include both expected and unexpected natural phenomena and accidents. Moreover, they must be able to eliminate the heat leakage emitted from the RPV surface during normal operation. However, utilizing all of the heat emitted from the RPV surface increases the degree of waste heat utilization. This study aims to understand the characteristics and degree of passive safety features for heat removal by comparing RCCSs based on atmospheric radiation and atmospheric natural circulation under the same conditions. It was concluded that the proposed RCCS based on atmospheric radiation has an advantage in that the temperature of the RPV could be stably maintained against disturbances in the ambient air.
Spin Triplet Superconducting Phases in Sr2RuO4 in a Magnetic Field Applied along the c-axis
Shuhei Takamatsu,Youichi Yanase 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.62 No.12
We investigate the spin-triplet superconducting state of Sr2RuO4 in a magnetic field along thec-axis on the basis of the four-component Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model with a weak spin-orbitcoupling. We show that the non-unitary superconducting phase is stabilized near the upper criticalfield owing to a coupling between the chirality and the magnetic field. The vortex lattice structuresof this superconducting phase are calculated at temperatures near the superconducting transitiontemperature Tc. Furthermore, we show a schematic of the global phase diagram in terms of thetemperature and the magnetic field.

This study explored the relationship between sponsorship objectives and sport team reputation from the perspective of companies. Our data were based on a questionnaire sent to sponsors of Victorina Himeji, which is a professional women’s volleyball club in Japan. One hundred ninety-four companies completed a survey about sponsor- ship objectives, sport team reputation, and sponsorship satisfaction. We conducted factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, and a two-way analysis of variance to examine the research questions. The results demonstrated that sponsorship objectives were composed of three factors (marketing objectives, corporate objectives, and team involve- ment). They were classified into a “highly valued” cluster and a “lowly valued” cluster. The t-test showed that the “highly valued” cluster was significantly higher than the “lowly valued” cluster in all variables except for spectator-orientation. Furthermore, comparing sport team reputation of each cluster with sponsorship satisfaction showed that the more satisfied the sponsorship of both clusters, the higher the sport team reputation. This study concludes that sponsorship objec- tives are important for both sponsors and sport teams.

A 55-year-old man visited our hospital for a detailed examination of a gastric submucosal tumor that was first detected 10 years prior. The tumor continued to grow and had developed a depressed area in its center. A histopathological examination of biopsy specimens revealed gastric adenocarcinoma of the fundic gland type (GA-FG). It was diagnosed as T2 based on the invasion depth as determined by white-light endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography. A total gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy was performed and a GA-FG in the mucosa and submucosa was confirmed histopathologically. However, there was a gradual transition to an infiltrative tubular adenocarcinoma with poorly differentiated components in the muscular and subserosal layers. Metastasis was identified in a dissected lymph node (LN). This is the first report of a GA-FG progressing to an aggressive cancer with LN metastasis. These findings modify our understanding of the pathophysiology of GA-FG.
