Objective : ``GyoGam-Dan`` is known as a medicine to cure depression in Donguibogam (traditional Korean oriental medicine book ). GyoGam-dan which is composed of Cyperi Rhizoma L. and Poria cum Radix pini has been usde by basic prescription of asymptom related to all kinds of Qi(氣) disease. Although it has been clinically used for a long time, its safety have never been proved till now. Methods : We had collected data of 610 cases of patients taking ``GyoGam-Dan`` at Wonkwang univ. oriental medical center for a period of three years (2005.3.09-2008.04.30). On the patients` blood, the levels of LFT and RFT were examined and the residual levels of heavy metals and pesticides were measured. Results : There were 610 patients who had taken GyoGam-Dan for about three years. In the patients, the most common diseases is depression, followed by palpitation, and then insomnia. Among the patients` estimations on its effectiveness, there were many of positive ones. The blood analyses of patients who had taken GyoGam-Dan did not show any problems and moreover there was not any problems in the levels of residual heavy metals and agricultural pesticides. Taken together, GyoGam-Dan was proved to be a safe medicine for health. Conclusions : Our clinical and chemical studies show that GyoGam-dan has the anti-stress effect and is a safe medicine of which side effect does not exist. Hereafter, Nigorous clinical trial on GyoGam-dan is required.
Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of Hericium erinaceus extract

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of Hericium erinaceus extract on the Anti- inflammatory and Anti-bacterial. To investigate in vitro Anti-bacterial activity assay, hot water extracts of Hericium erinaceus carried out using a broth micro-dillution method following the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidlines(Citron and Hecht, 2003; Jorgensen and Turnidge, 2003). In the next experiment, to investigate anti-inflammatory test, the RAW 264.7 macrophage, cells was cultured using DMEM including the 10% FBS. Hericium erinaceus extract has the effects of anti-inflammation and, which may be due to its inhibitory potential on the macrophage activation. Furthermore, Hericium erinaceus extract has the anti-bacterial effects through the inhibitory Propionibacterium acnes(P. acnes) and periodontopathic bacteria, Porphyromonas gingivalis , Fusobacterium nucleatum and Tannerella forsythia. The above results suggest that Hericium erinaceus hot water extract could be applicable for improvement of several inflammatory disease.

직장의 Dieulafoy 병변은 하부 위장관 출혈의 매우 드문 원인이다. 최근 대장내시경의 발달로 진단과 치료가 용이하여 성공적인 지혈이 가능하게 되었다. 내시경적인 치료 방법에는 전기응고, hemoclip요법, 에피네프린과 경화제 주입, 밴드 결찰술 등이 있으며 상부위장에서의 지혈술과 크게 다르지 않다. 저자들은 68세 남자에서 직장의 Dieulafoy 병변으로 인한 대량 출혈을 내시경으로 진단하고 hemoclip요법으로 성공적으로 치료하여 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Dieulafoy`s lesion is an uncommon cause of gastrointestinal bleeding that occurs after rupture of an exposed submucosal artery. The majority of lesions are found in the stomach, but less commonly similar lesions have also been identified in the duodenum, jejunum, colon, and in rare cases, the rectum. A 68-year-old man with chronic renal failure who presented with massive hematochezia was subsequently found to have a Dieulafoy lesion in the rectum. The bleeding was successfully managed by endoscopic hemoclipping. We report a case of rectal Dieulafoy lesion in which bleeding was comtrolled by endoscopic hemoclipping.
홍삼(紅蔘) 수추출물(水抽出物)이 치매단백질(痴매蛋白質) APP 형질전환(形質轉換) 초파리에 미치는 영향(影響)

Objectives: Ginseng Radix Rubra water extract(RGE) has been used in vivo test for its beneficial effects on neuronal survival and neuroprotective functions, particularly in connection with APP-related dementias and Alzheimer`s disease (AD). APP derived from proteolytic processing of the β-amyloid precursor protein (APP), including the amyloid-β peptide (Aβ), plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer`s dementia. Methods: We determined that RGE inhibits formation of APP, which are the behavior, and possibly causative, feature of AD. Results and Conclusions: In the cells, RGE significantly activated antiapoptosis and decreased the activity of APP-grim, a key enzyme in the apoptosis cell-signaling cascade. These results suggest that neuronal damage in AD might be due to two factors: a direct APP toxicity and multiple cellular and molecular neuroprotective mechanisms, including attenuation of apoptosis and direct inhibition of APP, underlie the neuroprotective effects of RGE.

This paper handles with effect of electromagnetic force on the cables by fault current accompanied by accident of underground transmission cable. Even though underground transmission cable is an essential transmission method to supply stable power for downtown and population center, interaction of electromagnetic force from fault current is very large comparing to overhead transmission line due to restricted installation space such as tunnel, etc. and close consideration is required for it. This paper describes the effect of electromagnetic force through results of three phase short-circuit test and electromagnetic force analysis using theoretical calculations and electrical evaluation test after three phase short-circuit test, which will be utilized as basic materials for improvement and development of cleat, hanger, etc. to reduce and release effect of electromagnetic force in the future.

Even though underground transmission cable is an essential transmission method to supply stable power for downtown and population center, interaction of electromagnetic force from fault current is very large comparing to overhead transmission line due to restricted installation space such as tunnel, etc. and close consideration is required for it. This paper presents countermeasures to reduce and release the effect of electromagnetic force with rope binding and installation of spacer and describes its efficacy through three phase short-circuit test, which will be utilized as basic materials for improvement and development of cleat, hanger, etc. to reduce and release effect of electromagnetic force in the future.
