        위성 영상의 분류 기법을 활용한 겨울철 하천의 얼음 면적과 기온 변화 비교 연구

        자연환경이나 지역생태계는 다양한 요인에 의하여 변화가 일어나지만 그 중에서도 수온의 변화는 하천생태계에서 주변환경에 영향을 미치는 큰 요인 중 하나이다. 하지만 현재까지 수온 변화에 관한 연구는 수온이 하천환경에 미치는 영향력에 비해 활발히 진행되지 못하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2015년부터 2021년까지 홍천강의 겨울철 얼음의 면적 변화를 통해 수온의 변화를 연구하고자 한다. 현장조사 결과를 참고하여 광학 위성 영상을 분류하였으며, SAR 위성 영상은 GLCM 텍스처 분석법을 이용하여 입력 자료의 한계를 극복하고자 하였다. 사용된 모든 영상의 정확도 검증을 수행한 뒤, 산출된 월 평균 얼음 면적과 인접한 기상대의 기온자료와 비교를 하였다. 수온과 얼음의 면적이 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었으며 본 연구결과는 접근이 힘들거나 시스템이 갖춰지지 않은 소규모 하천의 환경변화 연구에 활용할 수 있을 것이다. The natural environment and local ecosystem change depending on various factors, but among them, the change in water temperature is one of the major factors affecting the surrounding environment in the river ecosystem. However, research on water temperature change have not been actively conducted to date compared to the effect of water temperature on the river environment. Therefore, this study intends to study the change in water temperature from 2015 to 2021 through the change in the area of winter ice in the Hongcheon River. Optical satellite images were classified by referring to the field survey results, and the SAR satellite images tried to overcome the limitations of the input data by using the GLCM texture analysis method. After verifying the accuracy of all images used, the calculated monthly average ice area was compared with the temperature data of the adjacent AWS. It was found that there is a correlation between water temperature and ice area, and the results of this study can be used to study environmental changes in small-scale rivers that are difficult to access or do not have systems in place.

        Heavily T2-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Myelography as a Safe Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage Detection Modality for Nontraumatic Subdural Hematoma

        Objective : Nontraumatic subdural hematoma (SDH) is a common disease, and spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is a possible etiology of unknown significance, which is commonly investigated by several invasive studies. This study demonstrates that heavily T2-weighted magnetic resonance myelography (HT2W-MRM) is a safe and clinically effective imaging modality for detecting CSF leakage in patients with nontraumatic SDH. Methods : All patients who underwent HT2W-MRM for nontraumatic SDH workup at our institution were searched and enrolled in this study. Several parameters were measured and analyzed, including patient demographic data, initial modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score upon presentation, SDH bilaterality, hematoma thickness upon presentation, CSF leakage sites, treatment modalities, followup hematoma thickness, and follow-up mRS score. Results : Forty patients were identified, of which 22 (55.0%) had CSF leakage at various spinal locations. Five patients (12.5%) showed no change in mRS score, whereas the remaining (87.5%) showed decreases in follow-up mRS scores. In terms of the overall hematoma thickness, four patients (10.0%) showed increased thickness, two (5.0%) showed no change, 32 (80.0%) showed decreased thickness, and two (5.0%) did not undergo follow-up imaging for hematoma thickness measurement. Conclusion : HT2W-MRM is not only safe but also clinically effective as a primary diagnostic imaging modality to investigate CSF leakage in patients with nontraumatic SDH. Moreover, this study suggests that CSF leakage is a common etiology for nontraumatic SDH, which warrants changes in the diagnosis and treatment strategies.

      • Nanoinjection system for precise direct delivery of biomolecules into single cells

        <P>Intracellular delivery of functional molecules such as proteins, transcription factors and DNA is effective and promising in cell biology. However, existing transfection methods are often unsuitable to deliver big molecules into cells or require carriers such as viruses and peptides specific to the target molecules. In addition, the nature of bulk processing does not generally provide accurate dose control of individual cells. The concept of single-cell-based material injection based on electrokinetic pumping through nanocapillaries could overcome these problems, yet the fabrication and operation of nanoscale 3-dimensional structures have remained unsolved. In this research, a hybrid (PDMS/glass) microfluidic chip with a true 3-dimensional nanoinjection structure (called “nanoinjection system”) is presented. The nanoinjection structure was fabricated by femtosecond-laser (fs-laser) ablation in a single solid glass, which showed very successful delivery of red fluorescent protein (RFP) and expression of plasmid DNA in several different types of cells. This system is promising in that the amount of molecules to be delivered is controllable and the processed cells are systematically separated into a harvesting chamber, which can radically improve the purity of the processed cells. In addition, it was confirmed that the cells were healthy even after the molecule injection for a few seconds, indicating that the injection time can be significantly elongated, further improving the delivery efficiency of biomolecules without affecting the cell viability. We envision that the nanoinjection system having the major features of being carrier-free and dose-controllable, having an unlimited injection period, and ease of harvesting will greatly contribute to the next-generation research studies in the fields of cell biology and cell therapeutics.</P>

        무릎 신전 제한형 보조기 착용이 보행 시 하지 내 협응에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 무릎 신전 제한형 보조기 착용 후 보행시 하지 내 협응에 미치는 영향을 평가하는 하는 것이다. 본 연구에는 7명의 건강한 성인 남성(32.3±2.7 세, 175.2±3.8cm, 76.2±8.7kg)이 참여하였다. 이들은 무릎보조기를 착용하거나 착용하지 않고 10m의 평지를 보행하였다. 이때 시공간적 파라미터, 하지의 각도, 하지 내 연속상대위상(CRP)를 측정 및 계산하였다. 그 결과 시공간적 요인은 차이가 없었다 (all p > 0.05). 무릎보조기 착용 시 엉덩관절의 가동범위 및 각도 변화는 없었으나, 무릎관절의 가동범위는 감소하였으며 (65.5±3.7° vs. 60.5±3.5°, p < 0.05), 최대 굴곡 역시 감소하였다 (입각기: 31.9±4.6 vs. 25.6±5.5, 유각기: 76.7±3.1 vs. 68.9±3.4, all p < 0.05). 발목관절의 가동범위는 변화가 없었으나, 최대 배측굴곡 (22.4±2.6 vs. 19.2±2.1, p< 0.05)은 감소하였으며, 최대 족저굴곡이 증가하였다 (9.5±3.0 vs. 15.7±2.2, p<0.05). 대부분의 CRP는 차이가 없었으며, 유각기 엉덩관절과 무릎관절 사이의 CRP만 감소하였다 (93.0±7.8 vs, 84.7±4.9, p < 0.05). CRP의 표준편차는 대부분 증가하였다 (유각기 엉덩관절과 무릎관절사이: 25.1±6.7 vs. 32.4±1.9, 입각기 무릎관절과 발목관절사이: 46.0±12.9 vs. 80.1±31.1, 유각기 무릎관절과 발목관절 사이: 34.5±4.1 vs. 37.6± 3.1, all p < 0.05). 이와 같은 결과로부터 무릎 신전 제한형 보조기 착용은 관절의 각도, 하지 내 협응에는 영향을 미치지만, 보행특성에는 큰 영향을 미치는 않는다는 것을 확인하였다. The aim of this study was to evaluate Influence on intra-limb coordination in individuals wearing knee brace during walking. Seven healthy male adults (32.3±2.7 years old, 175.2±3.8cm, 76.2±8.7kg) participated. They wore knee brace or didn`t wear any knee brace and were asked to walk along a 10 m long walkway. Spatiotemporal parameters, angles of the lower limbs, and intra-limb continuous relative phase (CRP) were measured and calculated. No differences of spatiotemporal parameters were shown (all p > 0.05). There were no changes in the angle and its range of motion (ROM) in the hip for the subjects as wearing knee brace, while ROM (65.5±3.7° vs. 60.5±3.5°, p < 0.05) of the angle and maximum flexion angles (stance: 31.9±4.6 vs. 25.6±5.5, swing: 76.7±3.1 vs. 68.9±3.4, all p < 0.05) in the knee significantly decreased. No changes in ROM of angle in the ankle were shown, whereas maximum dorsiflexion decreased (22.4±2.6 vs. 19.2±2.1, p< 0.05) and maximum plantarflexion increased (9.5±3.0 vs. 15.7±2.2, p<0.05). There were no changes in most of CRP between joints. CRP between the hip and knee joints decreased (93.0±7.8 vs, 84.7±4.9, p < 0.05). Most of CRP standard deviation increased (between the hip and ankle joint during swing: 25.1±6.7 vs. 32.4±1.9, between the knee and ankle joint during stance: 46.0±12.9 vs. 80.1±31.1, between the knee and ankle joint during swing: 34.5±4.1 vs. 37.6±3.1, all p < 0.05). These results indicated that wearing knee brace affected joint angle and intra-limb coordination, but less affected gait features.

        NF- <i>κ</i> B/AP-1-Targeted Inhibition of Macrophage-Mediated Inflammatory Responses by Depigmenting Compound AP736 Derived from Natural 1,3-Diphenylpropane Skeleton

        <P>AP736 was identified as an antimelanogenic drug that can be used for the prevention of melasma, freckles, and dark spots in skin by acting as a suppressor of melanin synthesis and tyrosinase expression. Since macrophage-mediated inflammatory responses are critical for skin health, here we investigated the potential anti-inflammatory activity of AP736. The effects of AP736 on various inflammatory events such as nitric oxide (NO)/prostaglandin (PG) E<SUB>2</SUB> production, inflammatory gene expression, phagocytic uptake, and morphological changes were examined in RAW264.7 cells. AP736 was found to strongly inhibit the production of both NO and PGE<SUB>2</SUB> in lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) treated RAW264.7 cells. In addition, AP736 strongly inhibited both LPS-induced morphological changes and FITC-dextran-induced phagocytic uptake. Furthermore, AP736 also downregulated the expression of multiple inflammatory genes, such as inducible NO synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase- (COX-) 2, and interleukin- (IL-) 1<I>β</I> in LPS-treated RAW264.7 cells. Transcription factor analysis, including upstream signalling events, revealed that both NF-<I>κ</I>B and AP-1 were targeted by AP736 via inhibition of the IKK/I<I>κ</I>B<I>α</I> and IRAK1/TAK1 pathways. Therefore, our results strongly suggest that AP736 is a potential anti-inflammatory drug due to its suppression of NF-<I>κ</I>B-IKK/I<I>κ</I>B<I>α</I> and AP-1-IRAK1/TAK1 signalling, which may make AP736 useful for the treatment of macrophage-mediated skin inflammation.</P>

        위성영상을 활용한 2023년 소양호 녹조 현상 관측 및 분석

        본 연구에서는 1973년 완공된 소양호에 처음으로 발생한 녹조현상에 대하여 위성영상을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구자료는 2023년 7월부터 약 2개월간의 광학영상 13장을 사용하였으며, 소양호에 발생한 녹조의 면적을 산출하였다. 정확한 녹조 발생 면적을 산출하기 위하여 support vector machine 알고리즘 기반으로 영상분류를 수행하였다. 그 결과 소양호의 녹조는 녹조 발생을 유발하게 한 불순물이 유입된 지점을 중심으로 발생하였다. 2023년 8월 태풍 카눈의 효과로 일시적으로 감소하는 듯 보였으나 지속된 더위로 인해 다시 녹조가 증가하였다. 본 연구결과는 소양호는 수도권 주요 수원지 중 하나로 반복적인 녹조 발생을 대비해야 하는 점을 시사한다. In this study, we used satellite images to analyze the green algae phenomenon that first occurred in Soyang-ho, which was completed in 1973. The research data used 13 optical images over a period of about 2 months from July 2023, and the area of green algae that occurred in Soyang-ho was calculated. To calculate the exact area where green algae occurred, image classification was performed based on the support vector machine algorithm. As a result, green algae in Soyang-ho occurred around the point where the impurities that caused the green algae were introduced. It seemed to temporarily decrease due to the effects of Typhoon Khanun in August 2023, but green algae increased again due to the continued heat. Soyang-ho is one of the major water sources in the metropolitan area, suggesting that we must prepare for repeated green algae outbreaks.

      • 위성영상을 활용한 백두산 화산 활동관련 수온변화 연구

        백두산 정상에는 아시아에서 가장 큰 칼데라 호수인 천지가 있다. 천지의 수원이 대부분 지하수에서 기원하기 때문에 천지의 수온은 백두산 지하의 마그마방의 활동과 높은 관련이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 유럽우주국(ESA)에서 제공한 Sentinel-1 및 Sentinel-2 위성영상 데이터를 이용하여 백두산에서 겨울철에 생성되는 얼음의 크기를 분석하였다. 광학위성 영상의 분석과 동시에 Sentinel-1 위성의 후방산란 영상에서 얼음의 면적을 계산하기 위해 텍스처 분석을 사용하여 편파 영상에서 20개의 GLCM 레이어를 생성하였다. 면적 계산에 사용된 방법은 SVM 알고리즘을 사용하여 각 위성 영상을 분류하여 영상에서의 얼음 면적을 산출하였다. 또한 계산된 면적은 삼지연 기상 관측소에서 얻은 온도 데이터와 상관관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 활용하여 백두산의 화산활동을 모니터링하는 방법으로서 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

        Replacement of corn with rice grains did not alter growth performance and rumen fermentation in growing Hanwoo steers

        Objective: This study was realized to evaluate the nutritional value of rice grains as a replacement for corn grains in the diet of growing Hanwoo steers. Methods: Two experimental diets were prepared: i) Corn total mixed ration (TMR) consisting of 20% corn grains and ii) Rice TMR consisting of 20% rice grains, in a dry matter (DM) basis. These treatments were used for in vitro rumen fermentation and in vivo growth trials. In the rumen fermentation experiment, the in vitro DM digestibility (IVDMD), in vitro crude protein digestibility (IVCPD), in vitro neutral detergent fiber digestibility, pH, ammonia nitrogen, and volatile fatty acids (VFA) were estimated at 48 h, and the gas production was measured at 3, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h. Twenty four growing Hanwoo steers (9 months old; body weight [BW]: 259±13 kg) were randomly divided into two treatment groups and the BW, dry matter intake (DMI), average daily gain (ADG), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were measured. Results: The in vitro experiment showed that the IVDMD, IVCPD, and VFA production of the Rice TMR were higher than those of the Corn TMR (p<0.05). The growth trial showed no differences (p>0.05) in the final BW, ADG, DMI, and FCR between the two TMRs. Conclusion: The use of rice grains instead of corn grains did not exhibit any negative effects on the rumen fermentation or growth performance, thereby rice grains with a DM of less than 20% could be used as a starch source in the diet of growing steers.
