Background: As the prevalence of hypertension is increasing in Korea, the government is seeking policy actions to manage patients with hypertension more efficiently. In this paper, we aimed to identify factors associated with the use of medical care at hospitals among outpatients with hypertension. Methods: We analyzed a total of 15,040 cases of 3,877 outpatients with hypertension obtained from the Korea Medical Panel database from 2010 to 2016. The dependent variable was whether a patient with hypertension visited a hospital or not; and independent variables were the patient’s various socio-demographic, health-related, and heath-status characteristics. We conducted a generalized linear mixed model analysis with logit link for all the cases and then conducted it stratified by gender. Results: As a result of a multivariable analysis, women were less likely than to visit at a hospital (odds ratio [OR], 0.44; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.32-0.61) and people aged 65 years and older than those aged less than 65 years (OR, 0.71; 95% CI, 0.57- 0.89). Residents in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam were more likely than those in than Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Jeju to visit a hospital (OR, 1.40; 95% CI, 1.05-1.86). The likelihood of visiting a hospital was high in people belonging to a group of: the highest level of annual household income (OR, 1.73; 95% CI, 1.30-2.29); Medical care aid recipients (OR, 1.94; 95% CI, 1.34-2.83); people having three or more complex chronic diseases (OR, 1.59; 95% CI, 1.19-2.11); people having diabetes (OR, 1.81; 95% CI, 1.41-2.32); or people having ischemic heart disease or cerebrovascular disease (OR, 6.80; 95% CI, 5.28-8.76). Also, we found that factors associated with the use of medical care at hospitals among outpatients with hypertension differed between genders. Conclusion: A variety of factors seem to be associated with the use of medical care at hospitals among outpatients with hypertension. Future research needs to find a way to help patients with hypertension visit an appropriate medical institution between clinics and hospitals.

In this work, we investigated simple Aㅣ/TCO/a-Si:H(n)/c-Si(p)/Al hetero-junction solar cells prepared by low temperature processes, unlike conventional thermal diffused c-Si solar cells. a-Si:H/c-Si hetero-junction solar cells are processed by low temperature deposition of n-type hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) films by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition on textured and flat p-type silicon substrate. A detailed investigation was carried out to acquire optimization and compatibility of amorphous layer, TCO (ZnO:Al) layer depositions by changing the plasma process parameters. As front TCO and back contact, ZnO:Al and AI were deposited by rf magnetron sputtering and e-beam evaporation, respectively. The photovoltaic conversion efficiency under AMI.5 and the quantum efficiency on 1cm² sample have been reported. An efficiency of 12.5% is achieved on hetero-structure solar cells based on p-type crystalline silicon.
Performance Evaluation of the QXDx BCR-ABL %IS Droplet Digital PCR Assay

Accurate detection of BCR-ABL fusion transcripts at and below molecular response (MR) 4 (0.01% International Scale [IS]) is required for disease monitoring in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). We evaluated the analytical performance of the QXDx BCR-ABL %IS (Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA, USA) droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) assay, which is the first commercially available ddPCR-based in vitro diagnostics product. In precision analysis, the %CV was 9.3% and 3.0%, with mean values of 0.031% IS and 9.4% IS, respectively. The assay was linear in the first order, ranging from 0.032% IS to 20% IS. The manufacturer-claimed limit of blank, limit of detection, and limit of quantification were verified successfully. There was a very strong correlation between the results of the QXDx BCR-ABL %IS ddPCR assay and the ipsogen BCR-ABL1 Mbcr IS-MMR (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) real-time quantitative PCR assay (r=0.996). In conclusion, the QXDx BCR-ABL %IS ddPCR assay can provide reliable results for CML patients.

<P>We report the discovery of a binary composed of two brown dwarfs, based on the analysis of the microlensing event OGLE-2016-BLG-1469. Thanks to the detection of both finite-source and microlens-parallax effects, we are able to measure both the masses M-1 similar to 0.05M(circle dot) and. M-2 similar to 0.01M(circle dot), and the. distance D-L similar to 4.5 kpc, as well as the projected separation a(perpendicular to) similar to 0.33 au. This is the third brown-dwarf binary detected using the microlensing method, demonstrating the usefulness of microlensing in detecting field brown-dwarf binaries with separations of less than 1 au.</P>

In this paper, design of framework architecture of pervasive computing system providing seamless inter space interactions between private and public smart spaces is presented. The seamless inter space interaction issues are related to establishing user's service environment by allocating relevant resources in a new location where there are no prior settings for the user or where there are current users already being served in the new location. In the realm of pervasive computing, we can have different types of smart spaces, offering proactive and intelligent services, which are islands of smart spaces independent from each other. As users move about, they will have to roam from private smart space to public smart space and vice versa. When they enter a new island of smart space, they will have to setup their devices and service manually to get the same or different services they had at the previous location. Users might be living in a non-pervasive computing environment because this manual operation is inappropriate to its generic features of proactive and intelligent services of pervasive computing. The framework architecture will provide seamless inter space interactions initiated by changes in users' location to acquire negotiations of resources for new and current residents regarding service provision with limited available networked devices.

Powdery mildew (PM) is a severe fungal disease for melon cultivation worldwide. Stress resistance related genes could be important tools to address this problem. In this study, we retrieved defense related peroxidase and glucan synthase genes from Melon Genome Database ``Melonomics``. Thereafter, we analyzed the genes in silico. We conducted protein blast in the NCBI database and found a high degree of homology among them. Based on the highest protein homology we named two isoforms of Cucumis melo peroxidase 2-like genes (CmPrx2-1 and CmPrx2-2) and one glucan synthase1-like gene (CmGLS1). In reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (PCR), all 3 genes showed organ specific expression in a C. melo line, SCNU1154. Real-time quantitative PCR expression of these 3 genes was conducted in the infected leaf samples by PM fungus Podosphaera xanthii and also treated leaf samples by exogenous phytohormones (salicylic acid and methyl jasmonate). The CmPrx2-2 gene was up-regulated in response to all seven races of PM fungus whereas up-regulation or down-regulation of CmPrx2-1 gene was race-specific. The CmGLS1 gene was down-regulated in response to all races except one race. The CmPrx2-1, CmPrx2-2, and CmGLS1 genes were up-regulated under both salicylic acid and methyl jasmonate treatments but their level of expression was higher in salicylic acid treated plants compared to methyl jasmonate. Therefore, we speculate that defense response of the three tested genes is largely mediated by the salicylic acid signaling pathway under PM infection. Taken together, the data presented herein may be useful resources in the development of PM stress resistant in C. melo L.
