<P>Emodin (ED), an anthraquinone derivative, has been found to inhibit proliferation, induce apoptosis, suppress angiogenesis, impede metastasis, and enhance chemotherapy. However, the detailed mechanism of ED related to the regulation of CXC chemokine receptor-4 (CXCR4) gene expression that affects cellular migration and invasion in prostate and lung cancer cells are not fully understood. Recent evidence indicates that the CXCR4/CXCL12 axis is involved in promoting invasion and metastasis in tumors. Thus, novel agents that can downregulate CXCR4 expression have therapeutic potential in repressing cancer metastasis. Among ED and its derivatives, it is found that ED downregulated the expression of both CXCR4 and HER2 without affecting cell viability in tumor cells. The suppression of CXCR4 expression by ED was found to correlate with the inhibition of CXCL12-induced migration and invasion of both DU145 and A549 cells. Besides, neither proteasome inhibition nor lysosomal stabilization had any effect on ED-induced decrease in CXCR4 expression. The basic molecular mechanisms unveiled that the downregulation of CXCR4 was at the transcriptional level, as indicated by downregulation of mRNA expression and suppression of NF-κB activation. Overall, our findings suggest that ED is a novel blocker of CXCR4 expression and, thus, has enormous potential as a powerful therapeutic agent for metastatic cancer.</P>

The improvement of freezing ability for the air conditioner is the most efficient method of application of its system. Therefore, this study has been investigated the improvement of freezing ability for the air conditioner using automotive by attached of a peltier element. According to the result of test, capacity of the peltier element make temperature range from -75℃ to +300℃ possible to cooling and exothermic. In addtion to, the reduction effect of energy revealed and the effect of liquid hammer remained with safety by attached the peltier element. It was found that the air conditioner system by attached peltier element have better freezing ability than the air conditioner system of existing vehicle.
수치모형을 이용한 가압필터 여과시스템 내 여과기 구조 변경에 따른 유동특성 연구

본 연구에서는 오염수를 신속하고 효율적으로 정화할 수 있는 물공급시스템을 개발하기 위해 시제품을 제작하여 현장실험을 수행하였다. 물공급시스템에 의해 처리된 여과수를 수질 분석한 결과, 생활용수, 중수 및 음용수로 이용 가능하였다. 물공급시스템에서 중요한 역할을 하는 가압필터 여과시스템 내부 여과필터는 오염물질을 흡착시켜 깨끗한 물을 생산한다. 오염물질을 제거함에 있어서 여과필터는 유동현상과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 그러나 여과필터 주변에서 관측이 불가능하기 때문에 3차원 수치모형인 CFX 모형을 이용하여 유동현상을 분석하였다. 이에 여과기 내부 구조 변경에 따른 여과필터 내 유동현상을 검토하였다. 현재 상용화되고 있는 여과기 내부 여과판 각도를 15~20º로 변경하여 유속분포를 분석한 결과, 표준편차가 0.0575에서 0.0154로 감소되었으며, 여과필터 주변에서 균등한 유속분포가 형성되어 여과 효율을 증진시킬 것으로 예상된다. In this study, a prototype was constructed and a field experiment was conducted to develop the water supply system that can purify polluted water quickly and efficiently. As a result of water quality analysis on the filtered water treated by a prototype, it could be used for living water, graywater and drinking water. There is the pressurized type filtration system that plays an important role in the water supply and production system. A filtration filter in the pressurized type filtration system absorbs pollutants and produces clean water. Filtration filter that can filter out contaminants is closely related to flow phenomena. Since it is impossible to observe in the vicinity of the filtration filter, the flow phenomenon is analyzed using CFX model. As the inner structure of the filtration was changed, the flow phenomenon in the filtration filter was examined. After changing the angle of the filter plate inside the filtration from 15º to 20º, the velocity distribution was analyzed. The standard deviation was reduced from 0.0575 to 0.0154. A uniform flow velocity distribution was formed around the filter. As a result, filtration efficiency is expected to increase.
