To study fauna of Silla University located in Mt. Baek-yang, we conducted six surveys from 29 May 2011 to 28 April 2012. We found five phyla 41 orders 197 species of animals inhabiting in this area: four phyla 27 orders 163 species of invertebrates and in vertebrates one order six species of fishes, three orders nine species of amphibians and reptiles, six orders 14 species of aves, and four orders five species of mammals. Of these species, some Korean endemic species were included: a fish of Rhodeus uyekii in a pond near main gate of this university, a frog of Rana coreana in a creek near a dormitory, and a rabbit of Lepus coreanus and a water deer of Hydropotes inermis in a grass region near a main stadium. A kind of hawk, Falco tinnunculus as a natural monument (animal) of no. 323-8, was observed on a building of medical and life science. A blue frog of Hyla japonica as a variation was found near a spring resort. Therefore, this area is considered an ecologically important area having a high animal diversity.

坑道를 利用한 人工分極法 模型 硏究

A Mise-a-la-masse method is to use a subsurface conductive mass itself as one current electrode of a pair by connecting it directly ot one pole of a voltage source, the second current electrode being placed on the ground surface at a great distance and connected to the other pole. This paper is to study the modified Mise-a-la-masse method using a water tank, that is, the second current eletrode is placed on the underground level instead of being placed at a great distance, to find the geometry and the continuity of ore bodies.

밀양시 가로수 현황과 개선방안

The aim of this research is to survey the census of street trees and to provide remedial measures for street trees management to Miryang City. To do this, survey was carried out 16 region units in Miryang City. Through the survey, the current status of street trees' map was made using automated map. From the results, it is turned out that 17,079 trees have been planted in Miryang City. The major species of street trees are Prunus serrulata var. spontanea(41.6%), Ginkgo biloba(26.1%), Pinus thunbergiana(13.3%) and the others are 12 species(19.0%). By the region units, Samrangjin-Eub is the most that 2,308 street trees are planted, and the next is Chodong-Myon(2,206 trees). The littlest street trees planted region is Cheongdo-Myon. In the results of comparison the component of street trees with other municipal cities, e.g. Seoul, Incheon, Kwangyang etc., only a few street trees have been planted so many in Miryang City. So, Miryang City indicated high proportionate street trees planting ratio. The suggested remedial measures are consisted with identifying the each street, increasing the green area by accepting the suitable street tree planting model, improving the physiological growth condition and systematic management with GIS.

화상처리를 이용한 디버링 가공물의 품질 측정

In this study a vision system with image processing method have been introduced to find the edge radius of curvature. It was applied to inspect the edge quality of the de burring process product with brush grinding. Size of data was found to be critical in calculating the radius of curvature. Results using laser measurement system were compared.

화상처리를 이용한 연삭공구 인식 및 안면인식 응용

An image processing method was applied to characterize a shape of the flexible grinding disk. A disk surface image was taken by CCD camera. Depth of cut was changed to be 2 and 4mm. Circles marked on the disk were captured to extract the key features of the deflection. Notable correlation has been observed between the intervals and the process conditions. Same methodology has been applied to check the symmetry of the human face. Tentative results revealed that symmetry could be checked using the filtered face image.

불소화합물의 골육종 및 구강암 세포주에 대한 독성의 비교분석

Fluorination of drinking water has been used world widely to reduce the incidence of caries. Recently, contradictory results on the cytotoxicity of fluoride compounds are reported. In addition, there are attempts to use fluorosilicate for fuorination of drinking water in Korea, therefore, we tried to analyze the cytotoxicity of fluoride compounds on oral epidermoid carcinoma (KB and A253) and osteosarcoma (HOS and MG-63) cells in this study. We treated cells with 0, 10, 50 and 250 ppm of fluorosilicic acid (domestic or from Fluka, F_(6)H₂Si), sodium fluorosilicate (F_(5)Na₂Si), sodium fluoroacetate (FCH2CO2Na), sodium fluoride (NaF) or potassium fluoride (KF) and measured the relative cell survival by Mn' assay. At the concentration of C 10 ppm, no significant cytotoxicity was observed. At 50 ppm, each cells revealed different response to fluoride treatment. Among cells used in this study, MG-63 was the most resistant to fluoride treatment. Comparable toxicity data from domestic and imported fluorosilicic acids were obtained. When we compared the relative cytotoxicity of fluoride compounds against their fluoride contents, the differences in relative cell survival were smaller. Most of cells showed C 20% of survival at 250 ppm. In order to analyze the pH dependence of the cytotoxicity of fluorosilicates, the pH of cell culture media containing fluorosilicate was adjusted to 7.4 or 6.5 and the relative cytotoxicity was measured. At lower pH, about 10% higher cytotoxicity was obtained. Thus, our data suggested that the toxicity of domestic fluorosilicic acid was sirnilar to that of fluorosilicic acid from Fluka, and the cytotoxicity of fluoride compounds was dependent an the relative content of fluoride and pH.

응급의료 헬리콥터를 이용한 환자이송에 대한 고찰

Background: The first EMS helicopter was introduced to Korea in 1996 and from Dec. 1. 1997, it was used for transporting emergent patients. Authors, here upon, report the transporting experiences. Methods: From Dec. 1, 1996 to Dec. 31, 1997, Samsung Medical Center's EMS helicopter was used for air evacuation of critically ill patients. The patients data prospectively analyzed. Result: A total of 65 patients were transported. Male to female ratio was 1.95:1. The mean transport time was 64.1 min(10 - 160 min). Majority of the evacuated patients was surgical patients (General Surgery : 16, Orthopedic surgery : 10, Neurosurgery : 6, Internal medicine : 13, Pediatrics : 3, and others : 3). Twenty-one of the 65 patients transported were admitted to ICU and 31 did not require ICU care. During the air evacuation, one physician and one nurse trained for air evacuation attended the patients. No medical problems or deaths developed during the air evacuation period. Conclusion: The first EMS helicopter was introduced to Korea in 1996. From Dec. 1, 1996 to Dec. 31, 1997, Samsung Medical Center's EMS helicopter was used for air evacuation of critically ill patients. The patients data reported.

비타민 E와 C의 복합섭취가 최대운동시 Lipoprotein 농도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of compound supplement vitamins E and C on the lipoprotein concentration during maximal exercise. the seven subjects are highschool students and supplement 400IU of vitamin E and 200mg of vitamin C after breakfast during 8weeks, and maximal exercise before vitamin compound supplements and after 8weeks The results of this study are as follows: 1. In maximal exercise before and after taking vitamin E-C compound supplements, oxygen uptake (O₂) and METs significantly (P<.01, P<.05) increased. Ventilation (V_(E)) also increased significantly (P<.05), while heart rate (HR) significantly (P<.05) decreased after vitamin E-C compound supplements. 2. TG was significantly (P<.05, P<.01) lowered before as well as after the maximal exercise. Total cholesterol (T-C) showed significant (P<.05) decrease after the maximal exercise. HDL-C indicated significant (P<.05) increase but LDL-C presented reduction of significance (P<.05) before and after the maximal exercise. The LDL-C/HDL-C ratio significantly (P<.01, P<.05) decreased before and following the training. The T-C/HDL-C ratio also retained significant (P<.05, P<.01) reduction both before and after the running exercise. In conclusion, the compound supplements of vitamins E and C are considered to improve the respiro-circulatory function in exhaustive exercise, decrease an LDL-C concentration, increase an HDL-C concentration and prevent arteriosclerosis.
