Induction motors widely use in industry because structure is simple and hard and cost is generally cheap and they are easy to control. In recently, because of saving steel, ventilation and benefit of frame fixing, rectangular core type induction motors use in industry more and more. This paper presents current characteristic according to stator core cutting degree in three-phase induction motor (IM) with rectangular stator core. According to stator cutting degree, magnetic saturation and paths of flux are changed. Because of these situations, phase currents are unbalance and are produced harmonic components and they cause decrease of efficiency. We analyze each 10° from 0° to 30° using 2-D finite element analysis (FEA). Optimal stator cutting core degree selection supplies stable currents and efficiency improvement. In this paper, loss separation test was executed by IEEE Std. 112-98 Method B and we compare with the result of loss separation by Simulation using FEM and by Experiment.

Abstract

For the encapsulation of biomolecules in inorganic materials, we have developed a unique enzyme-silicate conjugate material that consists of a self-assembled molecularly thin silicate layer on the surface of each individual enzyme molecule. The enzyme-silicate conjugate materials, called single enzyme caged nanoparticles (SECNs), were synthesized via the silica polymerization on the surface of enzyme molecule after solubilizing each enzyme molecule in hexane by using a tiny amount of surfactant, called “ion-pairing”. SECNs possess near native enzyme activity in aqueous media with minimal substrate diffusional limitations, and are highly stable under the protection of silicate network cage. Due to their nearly molecular size, SECNs can also be adsorbed into mesoporous silica materials to yield robust and easily-recyclable enzymatic systems that can be used in a number of potential biocatalytic applications such as diagnostics, biosensors, biotransformations, biofuel production, bioremediation and CO2 capture.

Highlights

Protocol of single enzyme caged nanoparticles (SECNs) has been developed.

SECNs have ultra-thin silicate network on the surface of individual enzyme molecule.

SECNs minimize substrate diffusional limitation, and inhibit the enzyme denaturation.

SECNs can be immobilized into mesoporous silica for recyclable enzymatic systems.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Oleosins are the most abundant proteins in the monolipid layer surrounding neutral storage lipids that form oil bodies in plants. Several lines of evidence indicate that they are physiologically important for the maintenance of oil body structure and for mobilization of the lipids stored inside. Rice has six oleosin genes in its genome, the expression of all of which was found to be responsive to abscisic acid (ABA) in our examination of mature embryo and aleurone tissues. The 5'-flanking region of OsOle5 was initially characterized for its responsiveness to ABA through a transient expression assay system using the protoplasts from suspension-cultured rice cells. A series of successive deletions and site-directed mutations identified five regions critical for the hormonal induction of its promoter activity. A search for cis-acting elements in these regions deposited in a public database revealed that they contain various promoter elements previously reported to be involved in the ABA response of various genes. A gain-of-function experiment indicated that multiple copies of all five regions were sufficient to provide the minimal promoter with a distinct ABA responsiveness. Comparative sequence analysis of the short, but still ABA-responsive, promoters of OsOle genes revealed no common modular architecture shared by them, indicating that various distinct promoter elements and independent trans-acting factors are involved in the ABA responsiveness of rice oleosin multigenes.

The subfamily Yponomeutinae Stephens belongs to the family Yponomeutidae, with over 270 described species in theworld. Among them, about 120 species are distributed in Palearctic Region. In Korea, a total of twenty five species havebeen reported from Korea. First recording of this subfamily species is reported Park (1983), with 6 genera 11 speciesin Illustrated Flora & Fauna of Korea, Vol, 27. Bae & Byun (2003) reported four known species of this group: Yponomeutakanaiella, Y. montanatus, Y. sociatus, and Y. yanagawanus. In the present study, we provided a checklist of the subfamily Yponomeutinae with a newly recorded genus, includingadult and genital photographs in each genus.

The genus Yponomeuta Latreille belongs to the family Yponomeutidae, with over 75 described species worldwide. This genus is distributed mainly in the Palaearctic Region, comprising 42 species. In Korea, a total of 16 species have been reported from Korea. This genus is reported by Park (1983), with seven species in Illustrated Flora & Fauna of Korea Vol. 27. Bae & Byun (2003) reported four newly recorded species of this genus: Yponomeuta kanaiella, Y. montanatus, Y. sociatus, and Y. yanagawanus. Byun (2009) listed a Korean Micro-Lepidoptera, recording 12 Yponomeuta species, with a newly recorded species Y. solitariellus. Sohn et al. (2010) and Lee & Park (2016) added two species: Y. anatolicus and Y. cinefacta. In the present study, we reported three newly recorded species of Yponomeuta, including adults and genital photographs, host plants, distribution and short descriptions.

Xyrosaris Meyrick, 1907 is a small genus of the family Yponomeutidae, established by Meyrick (1907) for its type species Xyrosaris dyropa Meyrick, 1907. A total of nine species were recognized in the world. Most of species of the genus have been described by Meyrick at the early 20th century. Up to date, X. lichneuta Meyrick, 1918 has been reported from Korea. In the present study, we review the genus Xyrosaris from Korea, with two new species: X. sp.1 and X. sp.2. Key to species, illustrations of adult, male and female genitalia, diagnosis and short description are provided.
