Information overload compels consumers to make decisions about how to distribute their limited attention across a variety of information sources. Today’s consumers use only one or two information sources from infinite digital choice and search engines available. Thus, it is not a case of more information, but more of the right information that needs to be communicated between consumers and marketers. The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of fashion leadership and style of information processing (SOP) on consumers’ frequency of use of information sources for apparel shopping. A survey was conducted using a non-probability sample of 351 US college students. The hypotheses were tested by MANOVA and ANOVA. Results showed that fashion leaders (vs. fashion followers) tended to be greater visualizers who preferred to engage in visual modality of information processing (SOP-visual) for apparel shopping. Fashion leaders (vs. fashion followers) and high visualizers (vs. low visualizers) were more likely to use internal information sources (i.e., experiences and knowledge) as well as impersonal external information sources (e.g., fashion magazines). Results of the study may help apparel marketers in identifying customers’ preference for information sources in order to communicate effectively. In turn, apparel consumers may have greater success in their search for reliable, credible, and accessible information. Implications and future research directions are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to examine how apparel consumers’ preference forphysical or virtual shopping channels is related to gender and consumers’ dispositionaltraits of need for touch (NFT) and centrality of visual product aesthetics (CVPA). A survey was conducted using a convenience sample of 276 US college students. Datawere analyzed using descriptive statistics, MANOVA and ANOVA. Results of thisstudy indicate that participants with high NFT or CVPA had a greater preference forvirtual channels than participants with low NFT or CVPA. Gender by itself was not animportant influence in preference for shopping channels; however, the results of thisstudy revealed that gender interacted with NFT and CVPA on preference for virtualchannels. Men with high NFT or CVPA showed the highest preference for virtualchannels, while women with high NFT or CVPA did not differ from other groups intheir preference for virtual channels. There were no main effects and no interactionsamong variables on preference for physical channels. This study is the first toinvestigate the interactions of gender with NFT and CVPA in preference for apparelshopping channels.

Human Aichivirus A1 (HuAiV-A1) is a waterborne human pathogenic virus classified as Picornaviridae and Kobuvirus. In this study, we developed a method that can detect about 35 minutes faster with the same detection sensitivity level than the previously reported HuAiV-A1 diagnostic RT-PCR primer. The RT-PCR primer sets developed in this study are capable of detecting HuAiV-A1 at a level of about 100 ag and formed 563 bp amplification product. In addition, the RT-nested PCR method was able to amplify 410 bp using the RT-PCR product as a template. The detection sensitivity of our method was 10 times higher than the method with the highest detection sensitivity to date. Therefore, the detection method of HuAiV-A1 developed in this study is expected to be used in the water environment in which a small amount of virus exists. Also, this detection method is expected to be used as HuAiV-A1 diagnostic technology in both clinical and non-clinical field.

본 연구에서는 신분류군 탐색을 위하여 유입하수 첨가 배지를 제작하였다. 유입하수 첨가배지에서는 일반 배지에서 분리 또는 동정되지 않은 13속 세균들을 배양하였으며, 특히 25에 비해 37℃에서 다양한 균주들을 배양할 수 있었다. 또한 유입하수 첨가 배지에서 총 12개의 분리 균주들이 97%이하의 유사성을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었으며, 이들은 Tessaracoccus, Paracoccus 및 Candidimonas속(또는 Paralcaligenes속)과 유연관계가 있었다. In this study, we evaluated complex media with influent sewage water (ISW) to isolate novel taxa of bacteria. It was possible to cultivate 13 genera using the complex media with ISW. Additionally, more diverse genera were identified at 37°C than at 25°C, using the complex media with ISW. Total 12 strains of 179 bacterial isolates were shared less than 97% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities with any known species. These isolates could be assigned to genera Tessaracoccus, Paracoccus, or Candidimonas (or Paralcaligenes).
다공성 폴리(ε-카프로락톤)/실리카 복합체의 제조 및 특성평가

졸-젤법을 이용한 전기방사법과 캐스팅법으로 폴리(ε-카프로락톤)(PCL) 나노섬유와 PCL/실리카 막을 각각 제조하였다. 용매에 N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)를 혼합한 경우 부드럽고 연속적인 PCL 나노섬유가 제조되었다. PCL 기지상에 tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS) 농도가 0에서 40 vol%로 증가함에 따라 PCL/silica의 강도는 12에서 8MPa로 감소하였지만, 7주까지 phosphate buffered saline solution(PBS) 침지에 따른 강도값의 변화는 없었다. 실리카 첨가에 따른 인장강도의 감소는 기공도의 증가에 기인하였다. PCL/실리카 막의 결정구조는 사방정계로 실리카 농도가 0에서 40 vol%로 증가함에 따라 crystallite 크기는 57에서 18 nm로 감소하였다. 세포독성 실험결과, PCL/실리카는 시편의 수축 및 변형이 없고, 검체 주위에서 변색이나 L-929 세포의 이상이 관찰되지 않는 무독성이었다. Poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) nanofibers and PCL/silica membranes were synthesized by sol-gel derived electrospinning and casting, respectively. Smooth PCL nanofibers were obtained from the precursor containing N,Ndimethylformamide (DMF). PCL/silica membranes were prepared by varying the tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) contents from 0 to 40 vol% to investigate the effect of silica addition on mechanical properties and cytotoxicity of the membranes. Although the strength of the membranes decreased from 12 to 8 MPa with increasing the silica content, the strength remained almost constant 7 weeks after dipping in phosphate buffered saline solution (PBS). The strength reduction was attributed to the presence of a patterned surface pores and micro-pores present in the walls between pores. The crystal structure of the membranes was orthorhombic and the crystallite size decreased from 57 to 18 nm with increasing the silica content. From the agar overlay test, the PCL/silica membranes exhibited neither deformation and discoloration nor lysis of L-929 fibroblast cells.
