Changes in the microstructures and mechanical properties of an AC2B alloy through solution heat treatment were investigated using recycled AC2B cutting chips as raw material. The as-cast microstructure of the AC2B alloy comprised ${\alpha}$-Al, $Al_2Cu$, and coarse needle-shaped phases considered to be eutectic Si and an Al-Fe-Si based intermetallic compound. After solution heat treatments at $505^{\circ}C$ for 1 h and 6 h, the samples showed complete dissolution of $Al_2Cu$ and relatively fine distribution of intermetallic compounds. Hardness test results showed that the hardness rapidly increased after the solution heat treatment for 1 h by solid solution hardening, and the increase of hardness exhibited a plateau from 1 h to 6 h. The results of the hardness and tensile tests showed that there was no visible difference in the effect of 1 h and 6 h solid solution treatment.
Ramie의 최적 펄핑 조건 및 위생용 ramie/면 부직포의 물리적 특성 연구

This study was investigated in optimum condition of pulping of ramie and the mechanical properties of non-woven fabric for the performance of ramie/cotton panty liner. The result of pulping condition on ramie was most suitable for type I (mixed NaOH with Na2CO3 in 30%:70%). The sample (I) was showed yield value of 68.2% and the best fibrillation and lignin removal rate. The non-woven fabrics of ramie/cotton were made in range of ramie content of 0, 15 and 30%. As ramie content increased, so were increased in air permeability, compressive strength and compression recovery rate. But surface roughness and compressional energy were decreased. Therefore, the non-woven fabrics of ramie/cotton are very suitable in hygienic goods for female panty liner. The ramie panty liner showed a little decrease in absorption and strength, as increasing the amount of ramie. But the performance of ramie panty liner was appeared beyond standard values used by usual panty liner.

In augmented reality(AR) surgical navigation system, the depth estimation using RGBD camera has limitation in obtaining the dense depth necessary to increase the registration accuracy. Recently, deep learning based monocular depth estimation has showed remarkable performance. In this study, we developed a markerless registration method using the monocular depth estimation, and applied it to AR surgical navigation system. The accuracy of our method of monocular depth estimation was 2.47 ± 1.15mm, while that of the method of the RGBD camera was 2.33 ± 1.24mm. There was no significant difference by paired T-test. Furthermore, the monocular depth estimation was able to acquire denser depth than the RGBD camera.

The insecticidal effect for several commercially available environment friendly agricultural materials (EFAMs) is investigated to Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Narana aenescens, Pseudaletia unipuncta and Parnara guttata on rice. In the insecticidal effects for 2-3rd instar larvae of lepidopteran after treatment with 19 EFAMs, more than 95% of mortality rate showed 5 EFAMs in C. medinalis, 12 EFAMs in N. aenescens, 9 EFAMs in P. unipuncta, and 14 EFAMs in P. guttata, respectively. Among 4 EFAMs selected for C. medinalis in indoor, more than 70% in control effect is seen EFAM-B(85.2%), EFAM-I(79.1%) and EFAM-M (78.3%), respectively, in rice field. The insecticidal effect for EFAMs is investigated to Nilaparvata lugens, Laodelphax striatellus and Nephotettix cincticeps on rice. In the insecticidal effects for 2-3rd nymph and adult after treatment with 19 EFAMs, more than 95% of mortality rate showed 5 EFAMs in N. lugens adult, 7 EFAMs in N. lugens nymph, 6 EFAMs in L. striatellus, and 5 EFAMs in N. cincticeps, respectively. Insecticidal effect for N. lugens was sustained until 10 day in rice treated with 7 EFAMs selected in indoor. Among them, EFAM-L, EFAM-P and EFAM-R was sustained in low density until 27 day. But EFAM-D, EFAM-L, EFAM-N and EFAM-S showed high density until 27 day and additional control was needed.

Bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG) is a live attenuated vaccine derived from Mycobacterium bovis. BCG vaccination can induce various dermatological complications including scar, abscess and granulomatous diseases such as lupus vulgaris. BCG granuloma is a rare complication of BCG vaccination, and the treatment method of it is not yet clearly defined. A 6-month-old male infant presented with an easily bleeding nontender erythematous protruding mass developed over a BCG injection site on his left shoulder after the first BCG immunization. There was no past or family history of Kawasaki’s disease, tuberculosis and immunodeficiency. A punch biopsy was done and histopathological examination showed chronic non-caseating granulomatous inflammation with microabscess formation. BCG granuloma was diagnosed and we treated the lesion with shave excision. The wound was clear and no recurrence is identified until 4 months after excision.

Background: Contact immune modulating therapy with diphenylcyclopropenone (DPCP) is a topical treatment option for extensive alopecia areata (AA). Because the response to DPCP treatment varies according to the patient, and it takes several months to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of the treatment, it is necessary to identify the factors that can predict the prognosis of the disease while treating with topical DPCP. Objective: In this study, cytokine levels in the scales of alopecic patches were investigated to identify whether they could predict response to DPCP during the early treatment period. Methods: Scale samples were taken from the alopecic patches in eight AA patients at 1 week, 2 months, and 4 months after DPCP sensitization. The patients were divided into responders and non-responders according to the clinical responses of DPCP treatment. Interferon (IFN)-gamma, interleukin (IL)-2, IL-12 and IL-10 levels of the subjects were compared in several perspectives. Results: Cytokine levels after 1 week of DPCP sensitization showed no statistically significant difference between two groups. After 4 months of treatment, IFN-gamma levels were significantly lower in responders than in non-responders. Conclusion: The results of this study show IFN-gamma levels in the scales of alopecic patches might possibly reflect the clinical response in AA patients treated with DPCP.
