Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) has attracted an increasing attention because it can realize waterless dyeing ofchemical fibers. In this paper, two azo disperse dyes with different substituents were synthesized, and compared with C.I. Disperse Red 73 to study the relationship between structure and dyeing properties systematically in D5 media. The resultsshowed that the dyeing uptake of dyes increased from 85.5 % to 98.0 % with the substituent changing from N-ethyl to Nacetoxyethylgroup. This was because the solubility of dyes in D5 media showed an evident reduction. Although the dyescontaining N-cyanoethyl group had the lowest solubility, the dyeing uptake became 93.4 %, which was slight lower than thatof dyes with N-acetoxyethyl group. This was because an introduction of N-cyanoethyl group increased dye molecularaggregation in D5 media, making it difficult to diffuse. Additionally, the dyes with N-ethyl or N-acetoxyethyl groups showedbetter washing fastness and rubbing fastness than that of dye containing N-cyanoethyl group. These results provide apotential theoretical guidance for improving exhaustion of disperse dyes in waterless dyeing system. This study will promotetextile industry sustainable development.
Experimental Study on Low Cyclic Loading Tests of Steel Plate Shear Walls with Multilayer Slits

A new type of earthquake-resisting element that consists of a steel plate shear wall with slits is introduced. The infi ll steel plate is divided into a series of vertical fl exural links with vertical links. The steel plate shear walls absorb energy by means of in-plane bending deformation of the fl exural links and the energy dissipation capacity of the plastic hinges formed at both ends of the fl exural links when under lateral loads. In this paper, fi nite element analysis and experimental studies at low cyclic loadings were conducted on specimens with steel plate shear walls with multilayer slits. The eff ects caused by varied slit pattern in terms of slit design parameters on lateral stiff ness, ultimate bearing capacity and hysteretic behavior of the shear walls were analyzed. Results showed that the failure mode of steel plate shear walls with a single-layer slit was more likely to be out-of-plane buckling of the fl exural links. As a result, the lateral stiff ness and the ultimate bearing capacity were relatively lower when the precondition of the total height of the vertical slits remained the same. Diff erently, the failure mode of steel plate shear walls with multilayer slits was prone to global buckling of the infi ll steel plates; more obvious tensile fi elds provided evidence to the fact of higher lateral stiff ness and excellent ultimate bearing capacity. It was also concluded that multilayer specimens exhibited better energy dissipation capacity compared with single-layer plate shear walls.
Association of microRNA-3144 variant with the susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma

Increasing studies suggest that microRNAs, anew group of small non-coding molecules, regulate theexpression of their target genes and play some roles in cancers. Thus, it is hypothesized that the genetic variants ofmicroRNAs could contribute to the susceptibility to cancers. In this study, the association between rs67106263 in microRNA-3144 and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)was explored in a large-scaled case–control population basedon MassARRAY technology. It was discovered that comparedwith the carriers of wide-type GG genotype and heterozygoteGA genotype of microRNA-3144, thesignificantly increased risk of HCC was observed in thesubjects with the homozygote variant AA (adjusted oddsratio = 1.285, 95 % confidence interval = 1.004–1.643,P = 0.046). Additionally, the variant was also associatedwith the expression of alpha fetoprotein (AFP), which is thediagnostic marker for HCC. Our findings suggest for the firsttime that rs67106263 may play some roles in the risk of HCC,expecting future molecular researches to elucidate the possiblemechanisms behind these results.
Risk Factors for Loosening of S2 Alar Iliac Screw: Surgical Outcomes of Adult Spinal Deformity

Study Design: Retrospective study.Purpose: To determine the risk factors for S2 alar iliac (S2AI) screw loosening and its association with lumbosacral fusion in patients with adult spinal deformity (ASD).Overview of Literature: S2AI screws have been widely used for ASD surgery in recent years. However, no studies have analyzed the risk factors for loosening of S2AI screws and its association with lumbosacral fusion.Methods: Cases of 50 patients with ASD who underwent long spinal fusion (>9 levels) with S2AI screws were retrospectively reviewed. Loosening of S2AI screws and S1 pedicle screws and bone fusion at the level of L5–S1 at 2 years after surgery were investigated using computed tomography. In addition, risk factors for loosening of S2AI screws were determined in patients with ASD. Results: At 2 years after surgery, 33 cases (66%) of S2AI screw loosening and six cases (12%) of S1 pedicle screw loosening were observed. In 40 of 47 cases (85%), bone fusion at L5–S1 was found. Pseudarthrosis at L5–S1 was not significantly associated with S2AI screw loosening (19.3% vs. 6.3%, <i>p</i>=0.23), but significantly higher in patients with S1 screw loosening (83.3% vs. 4.9%, <i>p</i><0.001). On multivariate logistic regression analyses, high upper instrumented vertebra (UIV) level (T5 or above) (odds ratio [OR], 4.4; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.0–18.6; <i>p</i>=0.045) and obesity (OR, 11.4; 95% CI, 1.2–107.2; <i>p</i>=0.033) were independent risk factors for S2AI screw loosening.Conclusions: High UIV level (T5 or above) and obesity were independent risk factors for S2AI screw loosening in patients with lumbosacral fixation in surgery for ASD. The incidence of lumbosacral fusion is associated with S1 screw loosening, but not S2AI screw loosening.
