Robust transformer-based anomaly detection for nuclear power data using maximum correntropy criterion

        Shuang Yi,Sheng Zheng,Senquan Yang,Guangrong Zhou,Junjie He Korean Nuclear Society 2024 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.56 No.4

Due to increasing operational security demands, digital and intelligent condition monitoring of nuclear power plants is becoming more significant. However, establishing an accurate and effective anomaly detection model is still challenging. This is mainly because of data characteristics of nuclear power data, including the lack of clear class labels combined with frequent interference from outliers and anomalies. In this paper, we introduce a Transformer-based unsupervised model for anomaly detection of nuclear power data, a modified loss function based on the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) is applied in the model training to improve the robustness. Experimental results on simulation datasets demonstrate that the proposed Trans-MCC model achieves equivalent or superior detection performance to the baseline models, and the use of the MCC loss function is proven can obviously alleviate the negative effect of outliers and anomalies in the training procedure, the F1 score is improved by up to 0.31 compared to Trans-MSE on a specific dataset. Further studies on genuine nuclear power data have verified the model's capability to detect anomalies at an earlier stage, which is significant to condition monitoring.

Synergistic effect in low temperature co-pyrolysis of sugarcane bagasse and lignite

        Shuang Yi,Xuan-ming He,Hong-tao Lin,Hui Zheng,Cui-hua Li,Chong Li 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.10

Sugarcane bagasse was co-pyrolyzed with lignite in a fixed bed reactor to investigate the possible interaction during co-pyrolysis. GC-MS revealed that the concentration of phenols and aliphatic compounds in the tar increased with the addition of sugarcane bagasse, while the content of aromatic compounds had the contradictory tendency. The phenol content in co-pyrolyzed tar reached 20.35%, which increased by 142.26% compared with the calculated values. The sugarcane bagasse decomposition peak partly overlapped with lignite pyrolysis peak from TG-DTG curves, which meant more interaction between lignite and sugarcane bagasse during the pyrolysis process. The difference between the experimental and calculated values of pyrolysis products yield, tar components, DTG values and kinetics analysis indicated the synergetic effect between lignite and sugarcane bagasse.

      • Research on the Strategy of Role Management Based on Grid Environment

Yi He LIU,Yu Ping QIN,Shuang ZHANG 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.2

The grid security affects directly the development of the grid and the practical application of grid system software. The access control is one of important contents of grid security research. The traditional access control models have ignored the subject security, and can not be solved with the dynamic grid, and the characteristics of the coexistence of multiple security strategy etc problems. Regarding expanded the concepts under the common network environment subject, the object, safe service, granularity control, the concept of subject/ object decomposition and the organization classifications are defined. Using the RBAC model and BLP the model basic principle, some of the new access control security strategy based on the grid environment has been defined in the paper. After discussion shows that the new rules emphasis on the subject security, and adapt to the dynamic nature of grid environment and characteristics of the coexistence of multiple security strategy. The new rules are compatibility with existing network access control model, they are secure and are also an expansion under the common network environment access control strategy, and this has certain positive significance to the grid security research.

A New Method for Elimination of Zero-Sequence Voltage in Dual Three-Level Inverter Fed Open-End Winding Induction Motors

        Yi-Wen Geng,Chen-Xi Wei,Rui-Cheng Chen,Liang Wang,Jia-Bin Xu,Shuang-Cheng Hao 전력전자학회 2017 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.17 No.1

Due to the excessive zero-sequence voltage in dual three-level inverter fed open-end winding induction motor systems, zero-sequence circumfluence which is harmful to switching devices and insulation is then formed when operating in a single DC voltage source supplying mode. Traditionally, it is the mean value instead of instantaneous value of the zero-sequence voltage that is eliminated, through adjusting the durations of the operating vectors. A new strategy is proposed for zero-sequence voltage elimination, which utilizes unified voltage modulation and a decoupled SVPWM strategy to achieve two same-sized equivalent vectors for an angle of 120°, generated by two inverters independently. Both simulation and experimental results have verified its efficiency in the instantaneous value elimination of zero-sequence voltage.

Prolyl endopeptidase remodels macrophage function as a novel transcriptional coregulator and inhibits fibrosis

        Lin Shuang-Zhe,Wu Wei-Jie,Cheng Yu-Qing,Zhang Jian-Bin,Jiang Dai-Xi,Ren Tian-Yi,Ding Wen-Jin,Liu Mingxi,Chen Yuan-Wen,Fan Jian-Gao 생화학분자생물학회 2023 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.55 No.-

Macrophages are immune cells crucial for host defense and homeostasis maintenance, and their dysregulation is involved in multiple pathological conditions, such as liver fibrosis. The transcriptional regulation in macrophage is indispensable for fine-tuning of macrophage functions, but the details have not been fully elucidated. Prolyl endopeptidase (PREP) is a dipeptidyl peptidase with both proteolytic and non-proteolytic functions. In this study, we found that Prep knockout significantly contributed to transcriptomic alterations in quiescent and M1/M2-polarized bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs), as well as aggravated fibrosis in an experimental nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) model. Mechanistically, PREP predominantly localized to the macrophage nuclei and functioned as a transcriptional coregulator. Using CUT&Tag and co-immunoprecipitation, we found that PREP was mainly distributed in active cis-regulatory genomic regions and physically interacted with the transcription factor PU.1. Among PREP-regulated downstream genes, genes encoding profibrotic cathepsin B and D were overexpressed in BMDMs and fibrotic liver tissue. Our results indicate that PREP in macrophages functions as a transcriptional coregulator that finely tunes macrophage functions, and plays a protective role against liver fibrosis pathogenesis.

Determining the Clinical Characteristics, Treatment Strategies, and Prognostic Factors for Mycoplasma pneumoniae Encephalitis in Children: A Multicenter Study in China

        Guoqing Fan,Yi Guo,Fujie Tang,Min Chen,Shuang Liao,Juan Wang 대한신경과학회 2023 Journal of Clinical Neurology Vol.19 No.4

Background and Purpose Most of the knowledge of Mycoplasma pneumonia (M. pneumoniae) encephalitis (MPE) in children is based on case reports or small case series. This study aimed to describe the clinical features and prognostic factors of MPE, and the efficacy of azithromycin with or without immunomodulatory therapy. Methods The medical data of 87 patients with MPE from 3 medical centers in southwestern China over a 7-year period were reviewed. Results MPE was found in children of all ages except for neonates. The most common neurological manifestations included consciousness disturbance (90%) and headache (87.4%), the most common extraneurological manifestations included fever (96.5%) and respiratory system involvement (94.3%); multisystem involvement (98.2%) and elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) (90.8%) were also prominent. M. pneumoniae was detected in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) less often than in blood and respiratory tract secretions. Azithromycin with intravenous immunoglobulin or/and corticosteroid treatment can shorten the hospitalization duration and the clinical improvement process. Most patients (82.8%) received a favorable prognosis; serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and CSF protein levels were higher in the poor-outcome group than in the good-outcome group (p<0.05). Neurological sequelae are likely to continue when the onset of this condition occurs during teenage years. Conclusions MPE generally presented with nonspecific clinical manifestations. In children with acute encephalitis accompanied by multi-system involvement and prominently elevated CRP, M. pneumoniae should be considered as a possible pathogen. Immunomodulating therapies should be recommended regardless of the duration of the prodromal period. High CSF protein level, blood LDH elevation, and higher age may be associated with an unfavorable outcome.

The Beneficial Effects of Electroacupuncture at PC6 Acupoints (Neiguan) on Myocardial Ischemia in ASIC3 / mice

        Ying-Wang,Yi-guo Chen,Wan-shuang Zhao,Di Li,Ya-han Xu,Meng-di Li,Jin Chen,Zhi-jun Kou,Qi-ge Wang,Nsoa dimitri Joseph 사단법인약침학회 2018 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.11 No.3

This study aims to investigate the possible mechanisms of electroacupuncture (EA) at PC6to improve myocardial ischemia (MI) by regulating the cardiac transient outward potassiumcurrent channel (Ito). According to the random number table, the mice were dividedinto six groups of six mice each: control group, MI group, PC6, LU7 (Lieque-point), ST36(Zusanli-point), and nonacupoint group. Mice in the control group were injected with saline(20 mg/kg, 24 hours interval), and the other ASIC3 / mice were injected subcutaneouslytwice with isoproterenol (ISO) (20 mg/kg, 24 hours interval). In thepreexperiment, 5 mg/kg, 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg, and 30 mg/kg of ISO were used, andthe results showed that 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg of ISO both could induce acute MI, butshorter duration of sustained MI. On the other hand, an injection of 30 mg/kg can makethe mice experience arrhythmia or die immediately, and EA was operated at PC6, LU7,ST36 acupoints, and nonacupoint in the mice of PC6, LU7, ST36, and nonacupoint groups, respectively, after injecting twice. Then Western blotting techniques (Western Blot) wereused to analyze the protein expressions of Kv1.4, Kv4.2, Kv4.3, and KchIP2. The results ofthis experiment showed that the protein expressions of Kv1.4, Kv4.2, Kv4.3, and KChIP2 inMI group were significantly lower than those in the control group (p < 0.01). Comparedwith MI group, the results of PC6, LU7, and ST36 groups obviously increased (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the expressions of PC6 group were higher than LU7 group and ST36 group(p < 0.05). And electrocardiogram’s T-waves showed obvious pathological changes inthe MI group compared to the control group (p < 0.01). After EA, the abnormal T-waves voltage of ECG in PC6, LU7, and ST36 groups was improved (p < 0.05). In addition, therate change of PC6 group was larger than that of both LU7 and ST36 groups (p < 0.05). But the T-waves voltage of the nonacupoint group was not significantly different than thatof the MI group (p > 0.05).

Biocompatible Gradient Chitosan Fibers with Controllable Swelling and Antibacterial Properties

        Shangpeng Liu,Yi Yu,Shasha Jiang,Jiwei Li,Shuang Wang,Shaojuan Chen,Jianwei Ma 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.1

This study developed a partially water-soluble carboxymethyl chitosan (PWCS) fibers by ethanol-waterexhaustion method. Sodium carboxylate was successfully introduced into chitosan fibers, as evidenced by FTIR, whichenhanced natural chitosan water solubility. SEM-EDS revealed that the sodium carboxylate groups presented in a gradientdistribution from the exterior to the interior of the PWCS fibers, which leads to a controllable swelling performance. Moreover, the PWCS fibers had excellent antibacterial ability against S. aureus and E. coli bacteria comparing with origin CSfibers. The cytotoxicity assay (CCK-8) and fluorescence staining confirmed that all developed samples showed non-toxicitytowards MRC-5 and exhibited a surprising promoting effect on cell proliferation, corroborating their biocompatibility. Besides, due to its excellent controllable water selling ability and protonated amine groups, the PWCS fibers possessed anefficient hemostatic performance. In conclusion, PWCS fibers could become a promising material in hemostatic and woundhealing applications.

      • Serum Amyloid A is a Novel Prognostic Biomarker in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

        Ni, Xiao-Chun,Yi, Yong,Fu, Yi-Peng,He, Hong-Wei,Cai, Xiao-Yan,Wang, Jia-Xing,Zhou, Jian,Fan, Jia,Qiu, Shuang-Jian Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.24

Purpose: To investigate the prognostic value of serum amyloid A (SAA) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing surgery. Materials and Methods: Preoperative serum samples of 328 patients with HCC who underwent curative resection and of 47 patients with benign liver lesion were assayed. Serum levels of SAA were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and its correlations with clinicopathological characteristics and survival were explored. Results: Levels of SAA were significantly higher in patients with HCC than those with benign liver lesion. There were strong correlations between preoperative serum SAA level and tumor size and more advanced BCLC stage. On univariate analysis, elevated SAA was associated with reduced disease-free survival and overall survival (p=0.001 and 0.03, respectively). Multivariate analyses showed that serum SAA level was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (hazard ratio 2.80, p=0.01). Conclusions: High SAA serum level is a novel biomarker for the prognosis of HCC patients.
