A new production bioprocess for sea cucumberrice wine (SCRW) was established. The traditional productiontechnology of Chinese rice wine was combined with additionof sea cucumber hydrosylates. The optimal enzymaticconditions of sea cucumber and the fermentation process ofSCRW were determined. The weight of sea cucumberenzymatic hydrolysates was 2.5% of millet while cookingthe millet. SCRW contained abundant free amino acids (30total at 1,681.216 mg/L), oligosaccharides (4 total at10,999.380 mg/L), total phenols (658.850 mg/L), andmineral elements (9 total at 1,911.353 mg/kg), and anantioxidant activity, all of which were higher than forcontrol rice wine (CRW). Galactosamine and glucuronicacid, both sea cucumber polysaccharides, were present inSCRW, but not in CRW.
A 2-40 Gb/s PAM4/NRZ Dual-mode Wireline Transmitter with 4:1 MUX in 65-nm CMOS

This paper presents a 2-40 Gb/s dual-mode wireline transmitter supporting the four-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) and non-return-tozero (NRZ) modulation with a multiplexer (MUX)-based two-tap feed-forward equalizer (FFE). An edgeacceleration technique is proposed for the 4:1 MUX to increase the bandwidth. By utilizing a dedicated cascode current source, the output swing can achieve 900 mV with a level deviation of only 0.12% for PAM4. Fabricated in a 65-nm CMOS process, the transmitter consumes 117 mW and 89 mW at 40 Gb/s in PAM4 and NRZ at 1.2 V supply.

The use of augmentative biological controls in greenhouse pest management has increased the demand for predators. To meet demands, suitable artificial diets must be developed to enable fast and cost-effective mass rearing of predators. In this study, three artificial diets were developed and their suitability for immature development and survival of Japanese ladybird Propylea japonica (Thunberg) and Multi-colored Asian ladybird Harmonia axyridis (Pallas) were investigated. An artificial diet composed of shrimp, beef, beef liver, and egg yolk in a 5:4:8:4 ratio is an adequate source of nutrition for the development of immature P. japonica and H. axyridis, resulting in 83% and 68% adult emergence rates, respectively. The reproductive performances of emerging P. japonica and H. axyridis females fed the artificial diet or pea aphidswere compared. The pre-oviposition period was shorter in emerging females from immature ladybirds fed an artificial diet compared with those emerging from immature ladybirds fed pea aphids. However, the total fecundity did not vary significantly. When adults were fed artificial diets, females did not lay eggs, but oviposition could be restored by feeding adults on pea aphids. The developed artificial diet can be used for the mass rearing of P. japonica and H. axyridis for biological control applications and rearing of adults during prey shortage.

Purpose Whether craniospinal irradiation (CSI) could be replaced by limited-field radiation in non-metastatic bifocal germinoma remains controversial. We addressed the issue based on the data from our series and the literature. Materials and Methods Data from 49 patients diagnosed with non-metastatic bifocal germinoma at our hospital during the last 10 years were collected. The Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 was used to evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Additionally, 81 patients identified from the literature were also analyzed independently. Results In our cohort, 34 patients had tumors in the sellar/suprasellar (S/SS) plus pineal gland (PG) regions and 15 in the S/SS plus basal ganglia/thalamus (BG/T) regions. The median follow-up period was 52 months (range, 10 to 134 months). Our survival analysis showed that patients treated with CSI (n=12) or whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT; n=34) had comparable disease-free survival (DFS; p=0.540), but better DFS than those treated with focal radiotherapy (FR; n=3, p=0.016). All 81 patients from the literature had tumors in the S/SS+PG regions. Relapses were documented in 4/45 patients treated with FR, 2/17 treated with whole-ventricle irradiation, 0/4 treated with WBRT, and 1/15 treated with CSI. Survival analysis did not reveal DFS differences between the types of radiation field (p=0.785). HRQOL analysis (n=44) in our cohort found that, compared with S/SS+PG germinoma, patients with BG/T involvement had significantly lower scores in social and school domains. However, HRQOL difference between patients treated with CSI and those not treated with CSI was not significant. Conclusion In patients with non-metastatic bifocal germinoma, it is rational that CSI could be replaced by limited-field radiation. HRQOL in patients with BG/T involvement was poorer.

To protect and identify the varieties of tree peony, DNA fingerprints were constructed and genetic diversity was analyzed with simple sequence repeat markers with tailed primer M13 (TP-M13-SSR) technology in 18 local tree peony varieties in Hunan Province of China. Twenty-four out of 131 pairs of polymorphic primers showing stable amplification and good capillary electrophoresis peaks were selected. The Shannon information indexes (I), polymorphism information contents (PICs), and differentiation rates of eight primer pairs were higher than average. Unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic mean (UPGMA) dendrograms indicated that the genetic similarity coefficients of the 18 Hunan tree peony varieties ranged from 0.57 to 0.86, and Paeonia suffruticosa ‘Ning Xiang Hong’ (0.57) was classified as a separate group. The 18 varieties could be completely distinguished with two pairs of primers. The variety names, flower types, fingerprinting codes, and other information were included in the quick response (QR) code, which provides a basis for the molecular identification of Hunan tree peony varieties. The construction of DNA fingerprinting of tree peony varieties in Hunan is important for its protection.
Finite element simulation of unconstraint vibration treatment for fatigued copper film

In this paper, in order to investigate the residual strain relief in the fatigued copper film with a thickness of 33 μm, an unconstraint vibration treatment process was simulated by finite element (FE) method. The experimental processes, including fatigue and unconstraint vibration processes, were simulated. The fatigue process for the original specimen and the vibration process for the damaged specimen were analyzed by the static and transient dynamic analysis, respectively. The simulation results showed that the unconstraint vibration treatment can lead to the residual strain of the fatigued copper film to be reduced and redistributed. The effect of the vibration parameters on the treatment effectiveness was analyzed by the different fatigue experiments and unconstraint vibration treatments, and the results showed that the FE simulation results are in agreement with the experimental observations.
