The Use of Instagram for Fortune 500: Impacts of Conversational Human Voice on User Engagement
Seoyeon Hong,Bokyung Kim,Hyunmin Lee Korean Academic Society For Public Relations 2022 Asian Journal of Public Relations Vol.5 No.1
This study explored the actual use of conversational human voice in Instagram posts and tested their impact on user engagement based on Fortune 500 companies' content (N=7,545). Findings from this study stress the effectiveness and prevalence of conversational human voice in corporate messages utilized in social media content by Fortune 500 companies. Specifically, their accounts adopted human voice message features differently across various industry types, while some of them significantly increased engagement on their social media communication channels.

The purpose of this study is to review the specific operating practices of Korean language education as a foreign language at Kim Hyung Jik University of Education. In order to achieve the research purpose, I conducted in-depth interviews with two Korean language learners who were international students through Chinese government scholarships and receiving Korean language training at Kim Hyung Jik University of Education in 2019 and one Chinese student who came to the same school through postgrauate scholarships. I could confirm that currently in North Korea, foreign students were only able to get admission on Korean language course at Kim Il Sung University and Kim Hyung Jik University of Education. Both universities offered Korean language education for foreigners, but they had differences in the number of students in class, nationality, teaching methods of Korean conversations, educational tours, and academic programmes. In addition, in the case of Kim Hyung Jik University of Education, the curriculum was reduced and changed in the past, and changes such as an increase of class size, learning time, and the number evaluations were made during the course. On the other hand, two universities put the same importance on Korean conversations and reading comprehension. The participants were generally satisfied with the education programmes including Korean language, but they didn’t see much teacher-student relationship. Less developed educational environment and school life without freedom and small improvement on Korean language ability due to the difference of Korean language between North Korea and South Korea contributed to lower the satisfaction. The potential transmission of plant pathogenic viruses through processed foods could be a source of concern for global crop production; however, there is a lack of supporting evidence. The present study was conducted to investigate the presence of plant pathogenic viruses in five samples of gochujang (fermented red pepper paste) manufactured in Korea. Several viruses infecting pepper were detected by reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction, among which the pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) was detected in all five samples, at concentrations ranging from 2.8 to 7.0 (log10 copies/ml). In addition, PMMoV was observed by transmission electron microscopy in all five samples. The samples exhibited viral pathogenicity to Nicotiana benthamiana plants, indicating that global trade of processed products could be a possible source of the transmission of plant viruses.
Tumor hypoxia and reoxygenation: the yin and yang for radiotherapy
Hong, Beom-Ju,Kim, Jeongwoo,Jeong, Hoibin,Bok, Seoyeon,Kim, Young-Eun,Ahn, G-One The Korean Society for Radiation Oncology 2016 Radiation Oncology Journal Vol.34 No.4
Tumor hypoxia, a common feature occurring in nearly all human solid tumors is a major contributing factor for failures of anticancer therapies. Because ionizing radiation depends heavily on the presence of molecular oxygen to produce cytotoxic effect, the negative impact of tumor hypoxia had long been recognized. In this review, we will highlight some of the past attempts to overcome tumor hypoxia including hypoxic radiosensitizers and hypoxia-selective cytotoxin. Although they were (still are) a very clever idea, they lacked clinical efficacy largely because of 'reoxygenation' phenomenon occurring in the conventional low dose hyperfractionation radiotherapy prevented proper activation of these compounds. Recent meta-analysis and imaging studies do however indicate that there may be a significant clinical benefit in lowering the locoregional failures by using these compounds. Latest technological advancement in radiotherapy has allowed to deliver high doses of radiation conformally to the tumor volume. Although this technology has brought superb clinical responses for many types of cancer, recent modeling studies have predicted that tumor hypoxia is even more serious because 'reoxygenation' is low thereby leaving a large portion of hypoxic tumor cells behind. Wouldn't it be then reasonable to combine hypoxic radiosensitizers and/or hypoxia-selective cytotoxin with the latest radiotherapy? We will provide some preclinical and clinical evidence to support this idea hoping to revamp an enthusiasm for hypoxic radiosensitizers or hypoxia-selective cytotoxins as an adjunct therapy for radiotherapy.

IoT application development using a cloud server causes problems such as data transmission and reception delay, network traffic, and cost for real-time processing support in network connected hardware. To solve this problem, edge cloud-based platforms can use neuromorphic hardware to enable fast data transfer. In this paper, we propose a model optimization method for supporting spiking neural networks on FPGA hardware. We focused on auto-adjusting network model parameters optimized for neuromorphic hardware. The proposed method performs optimization to show higher performance based on user requirements for accuracy. As a result of performance analysis, it satisfies all requirements of accuracy and showed higher performance in terms of expected execution time, unlike the naive method supported by the existing open source framework.
