The purpose of this study is to clarify the feasibility of transferring the business of the disabled sports to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism by analyzing concretely the absurdities shown in the philosophy of Ministry of Health and Welfare on the disabled sports generating while managing the business of the disabled sports, the speciality of administrative management, finance, utilizing athletic facilities, controlling and supporting athletes, educating and utilizing leaders, supporting research and so on. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, the study was analyzed and presented on the basis of preliminary research related to administrative management for the disabled sports, news, experience on the site of the disabled sports and do on. The conclusion is: since managing the business of the disabled sports by the Ministry of Health and Welfare is definitely subject to limitation, it should be transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in charge of managing national physical activities for consolidating society, abolishing differentiation and pursuing development.

건성안이 있는 이식편대숙주질환에서 사이클로스포린 A 점안치료 후 장기간의 경과관찰

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the long-term effect of 0.05% cyclosporine A emulsion (Restasis, Allergan Inc. USA.) on dry eye associated with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Methods: Sixteen eyes of 8 patients with severe dry eye associated with GVHD were treated with 0.05% cyclosporine A emulsion twice a day. Tear film parameters were evaluated before treatment and after 1, 3, 6, and 12 months of treatment. Results: One month after treatment, tear break-up time improved from 3.88±1.78 s to 4.17±1.90 s (P=0.02). Three months after treatment, symptom score and basal secretion improved from 3.00±0.38 and 4.44±1.59 mm to 2.33±0.52 (P=0.04) and 5.42±2.50 mm (P=0.04), respectively. Twelve months after treatment, the keratoepitheliopathy score improved from 2.38±1.31 to 1.13±0.35 (P=0.02). Conclusions: Use of a 0.05% cyclosporine A emulsion is effective for dry eye associated with GVHD as it helps to increase tear secretion and to relieve symptoms. Treatment with 0.05% cyclosporine A emulsion for longer than 1 year may be necessary to improve keratoepitheliopathy.

건성안 환자의 눈물내의 케모카인 리간드4의 농도와 눈물표면인자와의 상관관계

Purpose: To investigate the expression of CCL4/MIP-1β in tears of patients with dry eye syndrome and its correlation with the tear surface parameters. Methods: Forty patients with dry eye syndrome (seven Meibomian gland dysfunction and 33 non-Meibomian gland dysfunction patients) and 25 control subjects were recruited. The concentrations of CCL4 in tears were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The correlations between CCL4 levels and tear surface parameters including tear film break-up time (BUT), basal tear secretion (BST), tear clearance test (TCR), corneal sensation, keratoepitheliopathy (KEP) and conjunctival goblet cell density (GCD) were analyzed in patients with dry eye syndrome. Results: The mean levels of MIP-1β were 4.3±5.2 pg/ml in patients with dry eye syndrome and 81.6±294.3 pg/ml in control subjects (p=0.03). The mean levels in non-Meibomian gland disease patients (90.4±313.9 pg/ml) were significantly higher than those of Meibomian gland dysfunction patients (20.3±23.2 pg/ml, p=0.02). CCL4 levels correlated significantly with BST, TCR, KEP and GCD (p<0.05). Conclusions: The level of MIP-1β is elevated in tears of patients with dry eye syndrome and correlates with disease severity and tear surface parameters. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(3):313-319

서울지역 유통 농산물 중 내분비계 장애 추정농약의 잔류실태 조사

This study was performed to investigate the contaminated status of endocrine disrupter-suspected pesticides in agricultural products distributed in northern Seoul in 2010. We analyzed 33 kinds of pesticides by multi residue analysis method in 3,081 samples. Twelve pesticides were detected 600 times and violated 22 times from the agricultural products. The highest frequency of detection was procymidone and that of violation was endosulfan. The highest rates of detection divided violation times was diazinon. In agricultural products, 466 samples had pesticide residues and 22 samples violated the maximum residue limits (MRLs). Agricultural products were also classified by type and red pepper powder belonged to the others was the highest detection rate at 70.7%, fruiting vegetables 35.3%, tea leaves 23.6%, stalk and stem vegetables 21.2%, fruits 14.6% and leafy vegetables 11.2%. The rates of violation sample were stalk. and stem vegetables 1.1%, leafy vegetables 1.0% and roots and tubers 0.4%. Leek was to be managed primarily because it had the high detection and violation ratio and was detected together several pesticides.

목적: 군복무 중인 젊은 성인남자에서 동양안충의 감염을 경험하여 보고하고자 한다. 대상과 방법: 약 1주 전 시작된 좌안의 충혈과 자극증상을 보이던 21세 남자환자가 눈을 비비던 중 흰색의 선충을 발견하여 국군수도병원 안과외래에 내원하여 안과적 검사를 시행하였다. 결과: 검사 결과 결막충혈과 유두비대증상을 보였으며 총 2개체의 기생충이 발견되었고 혈액검사 및 안와, 두부자기공명영상 촬영 결과 이상소견은 없었으며 충체를 동정한 결과 동양안충 감염으로 확진 되었다. 결론: 동양안충의 인체 감염은 국내에서도 약 30예가 보고되어 있으나 임상적으로 드문 질환으로서 현역군인에서의 감염사례를 경험하여 보고하는 바이다. Purpose: To report the case with Thelazia callipaeda infection in young Korean male. Methods: A 21-year-old male patient visited Korean Armed Forces Capital hospital with chief complaints of conjunctival irritating symptoms and white colored tape warms in his left conjunctival sac. Results: The image study, hematologic and serologic test was within normal limit. The parasite was identified as Thelazia callipaeda. Conclusions: The Thelazia callipaeda infection of human eye is not common disease. We experience one case to report.
