NiFeCo / Cu / NiFeCo / FeMn
Vol.6 No.2
Magnetic and magnetoresistance behavior of NiFeCo /Cu /NiFeCo /FeMn spin valve multilayers prepared by sputtering has been investigated. Magnetoresistance of 6 % was obtained for a sample with 15 Å thick Cu interlayer. The exchange anisotropy field of a NiFeCo /FeMn spin valve was found to be very small, ~20 Oe, which is far smaller than that reported in NiFe /FeMn spin valves(> 100 Oe). The coercive field of a NiFeCo film deposited at 3 mTorr was ~10 Oe, which is far larger than that(~2 Oe) reported in NiFe films prepared under similar condition. Magnetoresistance curve exhibited an asymmetric magnetization reversal behavior presumably due to a small exchange anisotropy field and large coercive field.

배준철(Bae, Jooncheol),지성태(Ji, Seongtae) 한국지역개발학회 2024 한국지역개발학회 학술대회 Vol.2024 No.5
The purpose of this study is to analyse the approach and effectiveness of the Saemaul Undong(SMU) ODA from a localised and modern perspective using the case of the Kyrgyzstan SMU ODA, and to establish and present performance indicators for the branding and international expansion of Saemaul ODA. To do so, the study analysed the background of the SMU ODA, researched the Kyrgyz ancestral tradition of ashar, and identified issues of migration, food security, and social conflict in rural Kyrgyzstan. The study used literature analysis, interviews, and surveys to conduct the research, and the PSM matching technique and PSM-DID combined model for quantitative analysis. The results of the analysis show that the My Village Project is a modern adaptation of the Saemaul Undong with an understanding of the local context in Kyrgyzstan, and the effectiveness of the project using statistical analysis. The study also establishes performance indicators that can be applied to SMU ODA. Implications include the need for prior research for localization approaches, identification of differential effects of the Saemaul Undong using quantitative measurement methods, development of a representative index to measure the self-reliance of the Saemaul Undong, and development of SMU ODA programmes that focus on environmental values and food security. The contribution of this study is that it can be applied to similar projects in that it analyses specific cases and presents performance indicators from the perspective of localisation and modern adaptation, and that this study can stimulate related research on ODA for the Saemaul Undong.
Evaluation of Magnetic and Thermal Properties of Ferrite Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications

Magnetic nanoparticles can potentially be used in drug delivery systems and for hyperthermia therapy. The applicability of Fe₃O₄, CoFe₂O₄, MgFe₂O₄, and NiFe₂O₄ nanoparticles for the same was studied by evaluating their magnetization, thermal efficiency, and biocompatibility. Fe₃O₄ and CoFe₂O₄ nanoparticles exhibited large magnetization. Fe₃O₄ and NiFe₂O₄ nanoparticles exhibited large induction heating. MgFe₂O₄ nanoparticles exhibited low magnetization compared to the other nanoparticles. NiFe₂O₄ nanoparticles were found to be cytotoxic, whereas the other nanoparticles were not cytotoxic. This study indicates that Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles could be the most suitable ones for hyperthermia therapy.

This paper reports first on the very promising self-heating and temperature rising characteristics of solid-state NiFe2O4 nanoparticles for hyperthermia applications. NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by using both the "high temperature thermal decomposition method (HTTD)" and the "newly modified sol-gel" methods. The magnetic properties and cell-cytotoxic properties of the synthesized NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were investigated to consider these nanoparticles for in vivo hyperthermia applications. The saturation magnetic moments measured by a high sensitive SQUID were between 43.0 and 47.6 emu/g. The cell survival rates of NiFe2O4 and chitosan coated NiFe2O4, which were determined by MTT assay, around 85 % and 98.8 %, respectively. The maximum self-heating temperature induced by our specially designed RF-MRI modified L-C circuit was 47.3°C and the frequency and magnetic field product, H0f was 1.07 × 109 Am-1 s-1.

Although atopic dermatitis (AD) is known to be a representative skin disorder, it also affects the systemic immune response. In a recent study, myoblasts were shown to be involved in the immune regulation, but the roles of muscle cells in AD are poorly understood. We aimed to identify the relationship between mitochondria and atopy by genome-wide analysis of skeletal muscles in mice. We induced AD-like symptoms using house dust mite (HDM) extract in NC/Nga mice. The transcriptional profiles of the untreated group and HDM-induced AD-like group were analyzed and compared using microarray, differentially expressed gene and functional pathway analyses, and protein interaction network construction. Our microarray analysis demonstrated that immune response-, calcium handling-, and mitochondrial metabolism-related genes were differentially expressed. In the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and Gene Ontology pathway analyses, immune response pathways involved in cytokine interaction, nuclear factor-kappa B, and T-cell receptor signaling, calcium handling pathways, and mitochondria metabolism pathways involved in the citrate cycle were significantly upregulated. In protein interaction network analysis, chemokine family-, muscle contraction process-, and immune response-related genes were identified as hub genes with many interactions. In addition, mitochondrial pathways involved in calcium signaling, cardiac muscle contraction, tricarboxylic acid cycle, oxidation-reduction process, and calcium-mediated signaling were significantly stimulated in KEGG and Gene Ontology analyses. Our results provide a comprehensive understanding of the genome-wide transcriptional changes of HDM-induced AD-like symptoms and the indicated genes that could be used as AD clinical biomarkers.

Pruritus (itching) is classically defined as an unpleasant cutaneous sensation that leads to scratching behavior. Although the scientific criteria of classification for pruritic diseases are not clear, it can be divided as acute or chronic by duration of symptoms. In this study, we investigated whether skin injury caused by chemical (contact hypersensitivity, CHS) or physical (skin-scratching stimulation, SSS) stimuli causes initial pruritus and analyzed gene expression profiles systemically to determine how changes in skin gene expression in the affected area are related to itching. In both CHS and SSS, we ranked the Gene Ontology Biological Process terms that are generally associated with changes. The factors associated with upregulation were keratinization, inflammatory response and neutrophil chemotaxis. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway shows the difference of immune system, cell growth and death, signaling molecules and interactions, and signal transduction pathways. Il1a, Il1b and Il22 were upregulated in the CHS, and Tnf, Tnfrsf1b, Il1b, Il1r1 and Il6 were upregulated in the SSS. Trpc1 channel genes were observed in representative itching-related candidate genes. By comparing and analyzing RNA-sequencing data obtained from the skin tissue of each animal model in these characteristic stages, it is possible to find useful diagnostic markers for the treatment of itching, to diagnose itching causes and to apply customized treatment.
