화석연료의 사용에 의한 지구온난화 기후변화 이슈는 신재생 에너지 및 전기자동차의 사용을 가속화 하였다. 새로운 에너지 생태계에서 고성능 에너지 저장/변환 장치에 대한 중요성이 높아졌으며, 현재 리튬 이차 전지가 가장 신뢰성 있는 장치로 활용되고 있다. 이차 전지의 사용처 증대 및 생산량 급증에 따라, 기존에 고려하지 않았던 다양한 요인들이 이차 전지 연구에 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히, 이차전지의 전지 성능은 전극 소재의 영향을 많이 받게되며, 전지 에너지 밀도 및 생산 비용 관련 이슈에서 양극이 주요한 역할을 한다. 최근에 에너지 밀도뿐만 아니라 가격 경쟁력 및 자원확보 이슈들의 문제로 다양한 양극 후보 군들에 대한 실제 상용 이차전지 적용이 확대되고, 신규양극 소재로써 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 발표에서는 상기 이슈를 토대로 다양한 핵심 양극 소재에 대해서 정리하고, 최근 동향과 향후 전망에 대한 내용을 다룬다.

The reactivity of coal, biomass and coal and biomass derived blend chars gasification has been studied. The coal and biomass samples were pyrolyzed at 1000℃ in nitrogen atmosphere. The gasification tests were conducted in a lab scale tube furnace under isothermal conditions at 900-1200℃. The shrinking core model (SCM) and the volume reaction model (VRM) were used in order to obtain the reactivity of coal, biomass and coal biomass blend chars. There was no significant interaction between coal and biomass chars during co-gasification. The kinetic parameters of coal and biomass blend chars during gasification could be predicted by additive equation.

<B>ABSTRACT</B><P><I>Streptococcus pneumoniae</I> is a causative agent of high morbidity and mortality. Although sugar moieties have been recognized as ligands for initial contact with the host, only a few exoglycosidases have been reported to occur in <I>S. pneumoniae</I>. In this study, a putative β-galactosidase, encoded by the <I>bgaC</I> gene of <I>S. pneumoniae</I>, was characterized for its enzymatic activity and virulence. The recombinant BgaC protein, expressed and purified from <I>Escherichia coli</I>, was found to have a highly regiospecific and sugar-specific hydrolysis activity for the Galβ1-3-GlcNAc moiety of oligosaccharides. Interestingly, the BgaC hydrolysis activity was localized at the cell surface of <I>S. pneumoniae</I>, indicating that BgaC is expressed as a surface protein although it does not have a typical signal sequence or membrane anchorage motif. The surface localization of BgaC was further supported by immunofluorescence microscopy analysis using an antibody raised against BgaC and by a reassociation assay with fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled BgaC. Although the <I>bgaC</I> deletion mutation did not significantly attenuate the virulence of <I>S. pneumoniae</I> in vivo, the <I>bgaC</I> mutant strain showed relatively low numbers of viable cells compared to the wild type after 24 h of infection in vivo, whereas the mutant showed higher colonization levels at 6 and 24 h postinfection in vivo. Our data strongly indicate for the first time that <I>S. pneumoniae bgaC</I> encodes a surface β-galactosidase with high substrate specificity that is significantly associated with the infection activity of pneumococci.</P>
친환경 생분해성 그물실의 재질에 따른 연안 유자망의 어획성능 특성

The objective of this study was to estimate physical properties and fishing performances of net twine with improved PBS copolymer resin (Bio-new), the existing PBS/PBAT blending resin (Bio-old) and commercial Nylon (Nylon). The tensile strength of Bio-new monofilament was equal to Bio-old and the elongation of Bio-new was about 6 % higher than that of Bio-old in wet condition. The physical properties tests were carried out to estimate breaking load and stiffness in dry and wet conditions, respectively. In the results, the breaking load of Nylon netting was the highest whereas the elongation of Bio-new was 1.4 times higher than that of Nylon netting in wet condition. The breaking load of Bio-old netting was about 9.2 % higher than that of Bio-new netting. However, the elongation of the Bio-new netting was about 3% higher than that of Bio-old. The stiffness of the Bio-new compared to Bio-old was improved about 34 % in dry condition and about 32 % in wet condition. The filed experiments of the fishing performance were conducted with three kinds of drift nets with different netting materials in the coastal sea of Jeju. The each experimental drift net made of different materials showed the similar fishing performance. Bio-old drift net yielded less catches of small sized yellow croaker than other drift nets. The netting materials affected the fishing performance and length distribution of catches in the drift nets.
강널말뚝 시공을 위한 저진동·저소음 진폭가변형 진동해머 개발: (Ⅲ) 지반진동 및 소음 평가

본 연구에서는 개발된 진폭가변형 진동해머가 강널말뚝 관입시 발생하는 지반진동 및 소음을 평가하 기 위해 기존의 전기식 진동해머, 일반 유압식진동해머와 현장실험을 통해 비교하였다. 이를 위해 사 질토 지반의 단말뚝조건에서 현장실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 진폭가변형 진동해머는 진폭가변을 통 해 지반진동 및 소음을 줄여 민원을 해결할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
