In recent years, compression molding of lone fiber-reinforced thermoplastics has been increased in commercial aspects. In the process of compression molding of composites, the flow analysis must he developed in order to accurately predict the finished part properties as a function of the molding process parameters. In this model FRTP is assumed to be nonisothermal fluid, which has different viscosities in extensional and in shear. For verification of the model, the formation of a knit line in the L-shaped parts is compared with that of experiments results. In this paper we will discuss the effects of extensional & shears viscosity ratio ξ and slip parameter α on the other mold fill-ing parameters

During a compression molding process of Unidirectional Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites, control of filling patterns in mold and distribution of fiber is needed to predict the effects of molding parameters on the flow characteristics. To obtain an excellent product and decide optimum molding conditions, it is important to know the relationship between molding conditions and viscosity. In this study, the anisotropic viscosity of the Unidirectional Fiber-Reinforced Polymeric Composites is measured by using the parallel plastometer. The model for flow state has been simulated by using the viscosity. The composites is treated as an incompressible New-tonian fluid. The effects of longitudinal transverse viscosity ratio A and slip parameter α on buldging phenomenon and mold filling patterns, are also discussed.

The Compression molding process is widely used in the automotive industry to produce parts that are large, thin, light-weight, strong and stiff. Compression molded parts are formed by squeezing a glass fiber reinforced polypropylene sheet, known as glass mat thermoplastic(GMT), between two heated cavity surfaces. In this study, the an isotropic viscosity of the Unidirectional Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Composites is measured using the parallel plastometer and the composites is treated as an incompressible Newtonian fluid. The effects of molding parameter and fiber contents ratio on longitudinal/transverse viscosity are also discussed.

Currently, considerable work has gone into the construction of the Intranet which utilizes the advantages of the World-Wide Web and enables the enterprize to easily accomodate the huge amount of information and work already built. In this paper, we propose an interactive forms database query language which enables users to build their queries visually and naturally in the 'fill-in-the-blank' manner. The previous forms interface like Oracle Forms are static in the sense that forms are already set in the templates, while the proposed forms interface is dynamic since users are able to create their own forms from the E-R(Entity-Relation-ship) Diagram. We also propose an E-R Diagram Generator upon which the forms templates are built.

Formability in deep drawing process depends not only on a drawability of workpiece material but also on process conditions such as die punch corner radius, lubricant conditions, punch-die clearance etc. For instance, bending resistance should be reduced by increasing die round appropriately, drawing load should be minimized by improving the lubricant condition between die and material, and blanking load should be increased by selecting a pertinent punch round and by augmenting the friction resistance in punch. In this study, a multi-stage deep drawing process is analyzed using ABAQUS. The effects of formability factors, such as die shoulder radius, punch-die clearance and coefficient, are investigated, and the results are also discussed in detail.

The study for the quantitative analysis of saikosaponin of Bupleurum falcatum root produced by tissue culture was attempted. The optimal concentration of 2, 4-D was 0.1 ㎎/ℓ for inducing the callus. The induction and growth of the adventitious root from the callus was obtained in the suspension culture containing MS basal medium supplemented with no plant growth regulators. The results of the quantitative analysis of saikosaponins by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) showed that the content of saikosaponin a and c was high in the one-year-old root from somatic embryos and that of saikosaponin d was remarkably high in three-months-old adventitious root from callus.
