노화 쥐 해마에서 미토콘드리아 칼슘 유니포터 발현 및 미토콘드리아 기능장애에 대한 운동의 효과

연구목적: 노화는 다양한 조직 내 미토콘드리아 기능장애 및 결함을 초래한다. 중추신경계에서 미토콘드리아 기능장애는 다양한 신경퇴행성 질환의 발생 기전에 핵심적인 역할을 한다. 본 연구는 노화과정에서 해마 영역의 미토콘드리아 칼슘 유니포터 발현, 미토콘드리아 기능장애 및 세포사멸에 대한 유산소 운동의 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 총 32마리 Sprague-Dawley rat을 이용하여 연령별(16주령 / 42주령) 대조군과 운동군으로 총 4 그룹으로 구분하였다. 운동그룹은 동물용 소형 트레드밀 기기를 이용하여 총 8주간 1일 4회, 30분씩, 분당 20m 속도로 운동을 실시하였다. 결과: 본 연구의 결과, 노화 쥐 해마에서 미토콘드리아 칼슘 유입 및 항상성 유지를 위한 주요 경로 칼슘 유니포터 단백질은 높은 발현량을 나타내었으며, 또한 미토콘드리아 기능장애 및 세포사멸이 증가가 관찰되었다. 반면, 규칙적인 유산소 운동은 노화로 유도된 주요 변인들에 대한 긍정적 개선 효과를 나타내었다. 결론: 따라서, 노화 과정 동안 운동에 매개된 미토콘드리아 칼슘 항상성 조절 요인들은 신경퇴행성 질환의 예방 및 개선을 위한 새로운 치료적 전략으로 제안될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise on mitochondria dysfunction, mitochondria calcium uniporter (MCU) and apoptosis factors (Bax and Bcl-2) expression in the hippocampus of aged rats. Methods: Thirty-two male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: 16 weeks control (16W-CON, n=8), 16 weeks exercise (16W-EXE, n=8), 42 weeks control (42W-CON, n=8), 42 weeks exercise (42W-EXE). The rats in the exercise groups were forced to run on a treadmill for 30 min 4 times per week for 8 weeks. Results: In the present study, aging increased MCU protein expression and induced mitochondrial dysfunction with apoptosis. Compared with the 42W-CON group, in the 42W-EXE group MCU and Bax protein expression were significantly decreased and mitochondrial function showed a significant improvement(p<.05). Conclusion: The findings of the present study indicate that aerobic exercise may assist in preventing overexpression of MUC proteins during brain aging, which leading to alteration of mitochondrial dysfunction and increased apoptosis factors. Therefore, MCU is thought to be a new potential target for the prevention and improvement of neurodegenerative diseases.
Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Eight Common Chemical Explosives Using Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer

Eight representative explosives (ammonium perchlorate (AP), ammonium nitrate (AN), trinitrotoluene (TNT), 2,4-dinitrotoluene (DNT), cyclonite (RDX), cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX), pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), and hexanitrostilbene (HNS)) were comprehensively analyzed with an ion trap mass spectrometer in negative ion mode using direct infusion electrospray ionization. MS/MS experiments were performed to generate fragment ions from the major parent ion of each explosive. Explosives in salt forms such as AP or AN provided cluster parent ions with their own anions. Explosives with an aromatic ring were observed as either [M–H]– for TNT and DNT or [M]•– for HNS, while explosives without an aromatic ring such as RDX, HMX, and PETN were detected as an adduct ion with a formate anion, i.e., [M+HCOO]–. These findings provide a guideline for the rapid and accurate detection of explosives once portable MS instruments become more readily available.
Histopathological Comparison of Atopic-Like Dermatitis by Two Allergens in Nc/Nga Mice

Atopic dermatitis (AD) consists of two main stages, the acute stage and the chronic stage. TH2 lymphocytes have a major contribution to AD immune response in acute stage, TH1 immune response in chronic stage. We here demonstrated the atopic-like dermatitis by repeated two allergens treatment, dermatophagoides pteronyssinus crude extract (DPE) and picryl chloride (PC), with histopathological investigation. Histopathologically, PC-treated Nc/Nga mice were demonstrated much more infiltration of macrophages and fibroblast, which are effecter cells in TH1 immune response. According to the differences of TH1/TH2 immune response, we suggest that AD model by DPE-treated, which are showed TH2 immune response, is more suitable for the observations of progressive histopathological change in AD skin lesions.

<P>A hybrid maximum voltage utilization controller is developed for interior permanent-magnet synchronous motors over a wide operating range. The structure of the controller combines the current vector control (CVC)-type maximum torque per ampere controller and the modulating voltage-scaled controller (MVSC). The hybrid structure provides a smooth transition from the CVC to the proposed MVSC mode by deactivating the current regulator in the flux weakening region. A seamless transition to a full six-step modulation can be realized by adjusting the scaling gain, which is a significant merit in terms of power utilization for wide flux weakening applications. This paper also examines the torque control accuracy under motor parameter drifts to determine how to decouple its effect using a voltage disturbance state-filter design.</P>
Smart AI Textile System for Injury Prevention During Exercise

The significance of resistance training is on the rise, particularly in the context of measuring exercise intensity, or perceived exertion, which is crucial for injury prevention and personalized exercise programs. Thus far, exercise intensity has primarily been assessed subjectively using Likert scales and observational methods, presenting inherent limitations. In this study, we addressed this challenge by attaching textile sensors around the biceps area of a sleeve to collect data on barbell weight and repetitions as variables. Using the Epley formula, we calculated 1RM and extrapolated 1, 3, 5, 8, 12, 15, and 20RM values. Subsequently, we quantified the degree of exercise intensity based on weight and repetitions using Fuzzy Logic. Through the implementation of an artificial intelligence LSTM model, we achieved a high prediction accuracy of 87.35% for classifying exercise intensity into Intense and Moderate categories with new data. This achievement has practical implications for injury prevention and tailoring individual exercise programs.
Nano-gap trench fabrication for uniformly arranged line structure

Nano-gap trench having a plurality of convexo-concave structures that are uniformly arranged in line was fabricated by the modified photo assisted electrochemical etching process. Compared to the methods using a high-resolution lithography such as electron beam lithography and a dry etching process such as deep reactive ion etching process, the modified photo assisted electrochemical etching method offered the high aspect ratio nano-gap silicon trench structure at low cost. The fabricated structure has a gap of about 200 nm and high aspect ratio more than 60:1. The characteristics of etching by varying a DC bias were observed. And the fabricated structure of convexo-concave line array is applicable to light interferometer structure for non-labeling bio-chip.

<P>This paper presents a small film capacitor inverter-based induction motor control approach to enhance with reliability and power density of three-phase variable speed drive applications. A robust hybrid motor controller is developed to prevent performance degradation caused by the electrolytic capacitor-less inverter fed by front-end diode rectifiers. The structure of the controller combines a model-based controller (MBC) and a hexagon voltage manipulating controller (HVC). The MBC determines the command output voltage with the intersection of the torque and rotor flux linkage command. In the HVC mode, the command voltage vector is determined simply by the torque command and the hexagon-shaped inverter voltage boundary. Successful application of the control approach is corroborated by a graphical and analytical means that naturally lead to a single voltage selection rule. This paper also examines the operation sensitivity under motor parameter drifts to determine how to decouple its effect using a voltage disturbance state-filter design.</P>
