<P>Stretchable electronics has attracted great interest with compelling potential applications that require reliable operation under mechanical deformation. Achieving stretchability in devices, however, requires a deeper understanding of nanoscale materials and mechanics beyond the success of flexible electronics. In this regard, tremendous research efforts have been dedicated toward developing stretchable electrodes, which are one of the most important building blocks for stretchable electronics. Stretchable transparent thin-film electrodes, which retain their electrical conductivity and optical transparency under mechanical deformation, are particularly important for the favourable application of stretchable devices. This minireview summarizes recent advances in stretchable transparent thin-film electrodes, especially employing strategies based on in-plane structures. Various approaches using metal nanomaterials, carbon nanomaterials, and their hybrids are described in terms of preparation processes and their optoelectronic/mechanical properties. Some challenges and perspectives for further advances in stretchable transparent electrodes are also discussed.</P>

<P>Here we demonstrate fully-integrated, bezel-less transistor arrays using stretchable origami substrates and foldable conducting interconnects. Reversible folding of these arrays is enabled by origami substrates which are composed of rigid support fixtures and foldable elastic joints. In addition, hybrid structures of thin metal films and metallic nanowires worked as foldable interconnects which are located on the elastomeric joints.</P>
Discordance in Spirometric Interpretations Based on Korean and Non-Korean Reference Equations

Objectives: Korean regression models for spirometric reference values are different from those of other ethnic groups. The purpose of this study was to evaluate discordance in spirometric interpretations based on using Korean reference equations versus non-Korean reference equations. Methods: Spirometry was performed on 825 Korean male workers from April 2009 to November 2011. The spirometric patterns and disease severity were evaluated using two Korean equations (Choi’s and Lee’s) and three equations for Caucasians (NHANES III, Morris’s, and Knudson’s), and the results of Choi’s equation were compared with the non-Korean equations. The spirometric patterns were defined as normal, restrictive, and mild and moderate obstructive. Results: The mean differences in the FEV1% and FVC% between the two Korean equations were 2.0 ± 1.3% and 3.5 ± 2.2%, respectively. Morris’s equation had the greatest difference in the FEV1% from Choi’s equation: 32.9 ± 8.5%. Knudson’s equation had the greatest difference in the FVC% from Choi’s equation: 10.5 ± 6.5%. Conclusions: The two Korean equations shared similar characteristics of spirometric interpretation. The spirometric interpretations of Choi’s equation were significantly different from those of Morris’s equation and Knudson’s equation.

승강장 안전문의 도입으로 승객의 안전이 확보되었고 분진의 유입이 감소되었으며 냉난방 효율이 증대 되었다. 하지만 승강장 안전문 미개방 통과 사고로 인해 승객들의 불편을 초래하고 있으며 역 주행을 할 경우 안전에 큰 위험요인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 RF(Radio Frequency)방식 승강장 안전문 미개방 사고의 문제점, 원인 및 기존 연구들을 고찰하여 이를 방지하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 정위치 정차 후 승강장 안전문이 열리지 않은 조건에서는 열차가 출발하지 못하게 하는 회로적 방법을 제시하며 그 동작을 살펴본다. Installation of PSD(Platform Safety Door) keeps safety of passengers, reduces fine particles, and increases effect of cooling and heating system. However there is an inconvenience caused to the passengers because of an accident with the train doors opened but the PSDs did not open, and the train departed when all train doors closed. And this could risk the safety of passengers if the train goes through in reverse. In this paper, we present a way to prevent the accident PSDs are not opened after through consideration of problems, reasons, and existing researches. An electric circuit that prevents the accident is suggested and examined on conditions that PSDs are not opened after train comes to stop at regular position.
