자유탐구활동의 소집단 구성방법이 과학 학습 동기와 과학 정의적 영역 성취도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the method of constructing small group in the free inquiry activities on the science learning motivation and the attitude toward science in the 6th grade elementary school students. Four classes of 6th grade were selected from Y elementary school in Kyoungkido. Prior to conducting a free inquiry, students of four classes were subjected to a science learning emotional test. Based on the test results, students in each class were classified into homogeneous groups and heterogeneous groups based on their interest in science learning. In the experiment group, a homogeneous group composed of students with similar science interests were carried out small group free inquiry activities. In the comparison group, there was a free inquiry activity among heterogeneous groups composed of students with different scientific interests. After the experimental treatment, the results of the pre-test and post-test were compared and analyzed statistically. As results, first, small-group free inquiry activities composed of students with similar interests in science learning showed a statistically significant effect on the motivation to learn science in the sixth grade of elementary school. Second, small-group free inquiry activities composed of students with similar interests in science learning showed a statistically significant effect on the achievement of science affective domain in the sixth grade of elementary school. This study concluded that small-group free science inquiry activities composed of students with similar interests in science learning were more effective to increase the motivation to learn science and the achievement of science affective domain. Therefore, it is necessary to construct homogeneous small groups in terms of science interests for the free science inquiry activity.

The debris of hit-and-run vehicle usually remain in vehicle-to-vehicle or vehicle-to-pedestrian traffic accident. They are classified into 2 groups : vehicle parts and vehicle articles. The former are under the control of vehicle model name. The latter are not influenced by vehicle type, class and feature. We define vehicle parts as components having specific code and unique design subordinate to vehicle model name. Through inspecting specific code and unique design of vehicle parts, we can identify detailed information and data concerning hit-and-run vehicle. The specific vehicle part code are classified into 2 categories. They are inscribed by production corporation and assembly company. They are composed of model name, production year and serial number described by alphabet and particular characters. We can decode the specific vehicle part codes by applying documents published in corporations inscribing them. The unique vehicle part designs are classified into 2 classes : qualitative comparison test item and quantitative comparison test item. The first are inspecting color, pattern, shape and curved surface with a orignal part. The second are measuring size, length, width, height and curvature with a standard prototype. In this paper we proposed a method for identifying vehicle model name by inspecting specific vehicle part code and unique vehicle part design from hit-and-run-vehicle debris. The application of the method to a hit-and-run traffic accident case is presented.
