Rosa canina fruit extract was utilized for mild steel corrosion inhibition in 1 M HCl solution. The inhibitionefficiency of inhibitor was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiody-namic polarization test. Results revealed that R. canina fruit extract acted as a mixed type inhibitor andremarkably reduced the corrosion current density of mild steel from 110 mA/cm2 (0 ppm) to 44 mA/cm2(800 ppm). The maximum corrosion inhibition efficiency (about 86%) was obtained using 800 ppminhibitor. The inhibitor adsorption on the mild steel surface significantly increased the water contactangle (about 50%).

Alfalfa weevil is an invasive pest of several leguminous plants. In the world preservative, there is a lack of information about the level of differentiation among separate populations. We ran a comparative molecular and ecological analysis to assess diversity, phylogenetic relationship and also simplify the taxonomic decisions. By analyzing a total of 147 specimens from Middle East, Europe and America plus a few sequences in GenBank we improved our current knowledge of world phylogeography of Hypera postica. The result of mitochondrial genes (Summation of COI and CytB) revealed a deep divergence between two previously defined clades (5.6 – 6.7% nucleotide divergence) within sympatric distribution. The Eastern lineage comprised 60 haplotypes in Iran and 3 haplotypes in Italy with respectively 0.07 – 2.2% and 0.2 – 3.4% sequence divergence range. On the other hand, the Western lineage which was detected in Poland, Czech and Western America had relatively lower haplotype diversity presenting a total of 11 haplotypes and 0.1%-1.1% sequence divergence. The coexistence of two lineages in some regions led to the huge overlap in their fundamental nich, but also a certain level of divergence can be detected via ecological nich modeling analysis.

The effect of steel surface treatment by an eco-friendly praseodymium (Pr) oxide nanofilm on the corrosion protection properties and cathodic delamination of a fusion-bonded epoxy coating (FBE) was studied. The results of AFM, FE-SEM and contact angle tests revealed that a crack free praseodymium oxide nanofilm uniformly covered the steel surface. Results of EIS and salt spray tests revealed that the steel surface treatment by Pr film significantly enhanced the FBE coating corrosion protection performance. Results of cathodic delamination test showed significant decrease in the FBE cathodic delamination rate. Results of pull-off test revealed the FBE/Steel interfacial adhesion bonds promotion.

For a given ideal I of a Noetherian ring R and an arbitrary integer ${\kappa}{\geq}-1$, we apply the concept of ${\kappa}$-regular sequences and the notion of ${\kappa}$-depth to give some results on modules called ${\kappa}$-Cohen Macaulay modules, which in local case, is exactly the ${\kappa}$-modules (as a generalization of f-modules). Meanwhile, we give an expression of local cohomology with respect to any ${\kappa}$-regular sequence in I, in a particular case. We prove that the dimension of homology modules of the Koszul complex with respect to any ${\kappa}$-regular sequence is at most ${\kappa}$. Therefore homology modules of the Koszul complex with respect to any filter regular sequence has finite length.

Central odontogenic fibroma (COF) is a rare benign tumor that accounts for 0.1% of all odontogenic tumors. A case of COF (simple type) of the mandible in a four-year-old boy is described in this report. The patient showed asymptomatic swelling in the right inferior border of the lower jaw for one week. A panoramic radiograph showed a poorly-defined destructive unilocular radiolucent area. Cone-beam computed tomography showed expansion and perforation of the adjacent cortical bone plates. A periosteal reaction with the Codman triangle pattern was clearly visible in the buccal cortex. Since the tumor had destroyed a considerable amount of bone, surgical resection was performed. No recurrence was noted.

This paper reports the grafting of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) onto organophilic montmorillonite (Cloisite 20). Cloisite 20A was reacted with vinyltrichlorosilane to replace the edge hydroxyl groups of the clay with a vinyl moiety. Under the reaction condition, the exchange of quaternary alkylammonium cations with H+ ions was prevented and only the silanol groups on the edge of the clay reacted with vinyltrichlorosilane. The radical polymerization of the product with methyl methacrylate as a vinyl monomer led to the chemical grafting of PMMA onto the montmorillonite surface. Chemical grafting of the polymer onto Cloisite 20A was confirmed by Infrared (IR) spectroscopy after Soxhelt extraction. The interlayer and surface changes to the clay in the prepared nanocomposite materials and the grafted nano-particles were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The intercalated nanocomposites were obtained for clay contents up to 5%. The nanocomposites were examined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMTA). Nanocomposites exhibit a higher glass transition temperature and improved thermal properties than neat PMMA due to an interaction between the PMMA matrix and PMMA-grafted clay particles.
