Water quality in a reservoir is subject mainly to hydrodynamic structure. Paldang reservoir can be classified into a riverine-type, with small storage capacity and short residence time. Bukhan and Namhan rivers and Kyongan stream join at the Paldang reservoir. In particular, the confluence area with Kyongan strean and main channel of the reservoir has limited exchange rate of mass due to shallow depth and little discharge of inflow. It has been reported in recent 10 years that water quality was deteriorated, in the confluence area, with the reason believed due to high pollutant load and low exchange rate. Hence, investigation is required to understand the processes of pollutant transport along the region and provide solution to reduce pollutant levels. In this study, a particle tracking/random walk model is used to calculate residence time. The simulation results in residence time of 35, 22 and 8 days, respectively, for low, median and fruitful water levels. However, it was found that there was little difference between the cases with and without peak load from Chungpyung Dam upstream the Bukhan river. This result is not identical with the calculated using hydrological records. This is belived to be caused by that hydrological data cannot correctly give residence time when flow travels upward, yielding water mass increase and corresponding mixing effects.
하퇴근 중심으로 한 유도 선수의 등속성 상대 근력에 관한 연구

The purpose of the study was to measure maximum muscle strength of leg (regio cruralis) at 30˚/sec using cybex-II. Twenty eight judo athletes, two for each weight level and sex were employed. The results were reported using relative muscle strength ratio as compared with subject's own weight. The results are as followings; For sex, male athletes' average relative muscle strength ratio of leg, centering on ankle, right volar flexion (RVF), right dorsal flexion (RDF), left volar flexion (LVF), and left dorsal flexion (LDF) were 52.4%, 13.5%, 50.3%, and 13.6%, respectively. Those of female athletes were 53.4%, 13.1%, 52.4%, and 12.4%, respectively. For weight levels, some of RVF, RDF, LVF, and LDF of female athletes on -65Kg, -78Kg, and -86Kg level were higher than norm or so. Those of male athletes on -72Kg were 55.4%, 18.2%, 60.2%, and 16.2%, repectively. Some of those of female athletes on -48Kg, -56Kg, and -6lkg level were higher than norm or so. Those of female athlete on -72Kg level were 57.4%, 14.2%, 55.2%, and 13.2%, which were higher than norm.

The authors experienced a female schizophrenic patient who revealed severely decreased leucocytes (350/㎣) with the manifestation of high fever, chillness and sore throat after the oral administration of neuroleptics. Agranulocytosis induced with the use of neuroleptic drugs has been well known complication in psychiatric practice although it is quite rare. In this case, following the combined use of neuroleptics (thioridazine halopondol and chlorproonazine), severe decrement of leucocytes (mainly lymphocytes with few neutrophils) was noticed on peripheral blood and marked decrement of erythroid series, especially of myeloid series, with decrement of total cellular elements were confirmed through the biopsy of bone marrow. She did not responded at all to the massive administration of antibiotics, but dramatic improvement was noticed both clinically and in the follow-up biopsy findings of bone marrow after two times trial of leukapheresis.

In the previous communications^(1,2)), we reported on the isolation of new flavone-C-glycosides, spinosin and its acyl compounds as sedative principles, from the seeds of Zizyphus jujuba (Rhamnaceae). In continuation of our work on this plant, we examined leaves to isolate rutin, mp 180-80˚and isoquercitrin, mp 236-8˚ but not to detect any flavone-C-glycosides. Spectrophotometric determination of some heavy lanthanide ions by flow injection method is described. Xylenol Orange forms water soluble chelates with lanthanide ions in a tris[hydroxymethyl]-aminomethane-buffered medium having pH 8.3 and containing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The molar absorptivities of Ln(III)-XO complexes were increased by the ternary system with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide with the concomitant bathochromic shift of absorption maxium compared to those of the binary system without cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The calibration curves are linear in the range 0.25-1.00 ppm for Gd(III), Dy(III), Er(III), Tm(III) and Yb(III) and the dynamic range are very wide. The detection limits (S/N=2) are from 2 ppb for Gd(III) to 30 ppb for Yb(III) and the relative standard deviations are from 1.2% for 0.5 ppm Gd(III) to 1.8% for 0.5 ppm Yb(III). The sample throughput was ca. 50 $h^{-1}$.
The Extraction and Separation of Iron(Ⅲ) by Oxine-Treated Polyurethane Foam

Flexible open-pore polyurethance foam impregnated with oxine has been applied to the quantitative separation of iron from aqueous solutions in batch method. The effect of pH, foreign ions and shaking time on the extraction of iron on these reagent foam has been investigated. Foreign ions such as Cd(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Ca(II), Pb(II) and Mg(II) did not interfere with the adsorption of iron.

We have constructed a novel recombinant Bombyx mori nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmNPV) producing the green fluorescent polyhedra. For the production of the fluorescent polyhedra, partial polyhedrin gene containing KRKK as nuclear localization site from the BmNPV polyhedrin gene and the green fluorescent protein (gfp) gene were introduced under the control of p10 promoter of BmNPV. The recombinant BmNPV was stably produced fluorescent polyhedra in the infected Bm5 cells and the morphology of the fluorescent polyhedra was similar to that of wild-type BmNPV. The fluorescent polyhedra had 32 kDa native polyhedrin and 41 kDa fusion protein. From these data, we have further developed a novel BmNPV p10-based transfer vector producing recombinant polyhedra with foreign gene Product. The novel BmNPV P10-based transfer vector is composed of partial polyhedrin gene, factor Xa, and multiple cloning sites.
