The Wanpaoshan Incident that took place in 1931 and the tragic Anti-Chinese Riots that ensued in Korea had great repercussions in the three countries of East Asia. Writers in Korea, China and Japan fictionalized these events concurrently or a few years after the incident. In the other of publication, the novelette Manpozan (October 1931) by Ito Einesuke, a Japanese writer, the novel Wanpaoshan (March 1933) by Li Huiying of China, the novelette “Farmer” (July 1939) by Yi T’ae-Chun of Korea, novella Rice Plant (1941) by An Su-Kil of Korea and the novel Reclamation (1943) by Chang Hyŏk-Chu of Korea were major examples. This article, using four novels – Ito Einosuke’s Manpozan, Li Huiying’s Wanpaoshan, Yi T’ae-Chun’s “Farmer”, and An Su-Kil’s Rice Plant – as main texts, analyzed the ways in which writers from Korea, Japan and China fictionalized the Wanpaoshan Incident. The four novels dealing with the Wanpaoshan Incident were all written from different perspectives and thus the emphases were different as well. The writers responded differently, and we will show how the writer’s national identity, ideology, and the existence of experience and its depth were articulated in the fictionalization process of a literary work.

In this study, high visible light response and charge separation efficiency of body-centered cubic Ag3PO4sub-microcrystals were fabricated through ultrasound-precipitation process. Additionally, the parameterswere optimized by photocatalytic (PC) removal degradation of diclofenac based on response surfacemethodology. Results indicated that the PC removal efficiency of diclofenac was significantly affected byAg3PO4 content and pH value. Under the optimized conditions, 99.9% of diclofenac could be degradedwithin 16 min Xenon illumination. Furthermore, three PC removal degradation pathways of diclofenacwere proposed, including OH-adduct to aromatic ring, direct oxidation by photoinduced holes anddecarboxylation of side chain from the parent compound.

Background Conventional dissolving microneedles (DMNs) face significant challenges in anti-melanoma therapy due to the lack of active thrust to achieve efficient transdermal drug delivery and intra-tumoral penetration. Methods In this study, the effervescent cannabidiol solid dispersion-doped dissolving microneedles (Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs) composed of the combined effervescent components (CaCO3 & NaHCO3) and CBD-based solid dispersion (CBD-SD) were facilely fabricated by the “one-step micro-molding” method for boosted transdermal and tumoral delivery of cannabidiol (CBD). Results Upon pressing into the skin, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs rapidly produce CO2 bubbles through proton elimination, significantly enhancing the skin permeation and tumoral penetration of CBD. Once reaching the tumors, Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs can activate transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) to increase Ca2+ influx and inhibit the downstream NFATc1-ATF3 signal to induce cell apoptosis. Additionally, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs raise intra-tumoral pH environment to trigger the engineering of the tumor microenvironment (TME), including the M1 polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and increase of T cells infiltration. The introduction of Ca2+ can not only amplify the effervescent effect but also provide sufficient Ca2+ with CBD to potentiate the anti-melanoma efficacy. Such a “one stone, two birds” strategy combines the advantages of effervescent effects on transdermal delivery and TME regulation, creating favorable therapeutic conditions for CBD to obtain stronger inhibition of melanoma growth in vitro and in vivo. Conclusions This study holds promising potential in the transdermal delivery of CBD for melanoma therapy and offers a facile tool for transdermal therapies of skin tumors.
Attitudes Toward Mini-Packaging Products: The Case of China
Pornpitakpan, Chanthika,Li, Qiuling,Sy-Changco, Joseph A.,Chen, Junsong Kyung Hee University Management Research Institute 2019 Asia pacific journal of business review Vol.4 No.1
Proposing that the main barriers to mini-packaging success in China, in contrast to India and the Philippines, is Chinese consumers' sociocultural values and attitudes toward products in mini packages, this study investigates the factors that potentially make the China market relatively not conducive to buying products in mini packages via a survey of 468 Chinese adults in Shanghai (first-tier city) and Zhuhai (second-tier city). Results show that respondents agree that products in mini packages are difficult to store once opened, are more expensive than are larger-sized products, do not provide good value for money, entail frequent shopping, are harmful to the environment, are not advertised, and are mainly for trying new products and for traveling. They disagree with many possible reasons for the unpopularity of products in mini packages. This study's contributions are (1) providing in-depth quantitative analysis of the possible reasons mini-packaging is not popular in China, (2) offering managerial advice for using mini-packaging to increase brand competitiveness, (3) developing a scale to measure attitudes toward products in mini packages; and (4) being empirical as opposed to merely anecdotal/speculative like some studies in this area.

Fresh grass carp was used to produce surimi and 50 g/kg, 100 g/kg, or 150 g/kg pork back fat was added. The water distribution, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), myoglobin oxidation, color parameter (L*, a*, and b*), heme and non-heme iron content of samples were determined to analyze the effects of different fat content on the oxidation of myoglobin and lipids during multiple freeze-thaw cycles of grass carp surimi. Both multiple freeze-thaw cycles and increased fat content lead to an increase in TBARS, a blue shift in the absorption peak of myoglobin porphyrin, a decrease in heme iron content, and an increase of non-heme iron content. Repeated freeze-thaw caused a decrease in immobilised water content and L*, and caused an increase in a* and b*. Increased fat content caused an increase in immobilised water content, L* and a*, and caused a decrease in b*.
Enrichment Characteristics and Health Risk Assessment of Heavy Metals in Soil-Crops System
Fei Liu,Zhong Yang,Qiuling Li,Tao Li 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.9
The effects of heavy metals in soil-crops systems, their enrichment characteristics, and health risks were investigated by analyzing the As, Cr, Cu, Pb, Cd, and Hg in 216 paired soil and crop samples from Yuyao, Zhejiang Province, China. Statistical analyses, enrichment characteristics, and health risks to adults were assessed using the health risk assessment model used by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. The results showed that the main sources of heavy metals were atmospheric pollution, water pollution, and pesticide spraying, that caused local pollution in bayberry soil, and that the Pb pollution source may be industrial waste and oil combustion release. They also indicated that the sources polluting bayberry soil with Cu and Hg were probably the same, the mustard-soil system had a relatively lower absorption capacity for heavy metals, and there was a significant correlation between heavy metals in the soil-rice system. The main carcinogenic risk factors associated with bayberry intake were As and Cr, but there were no non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks associated with rice intake. The non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks associated with bayberry could be reduced by planting on land not exposed to air and industrial pollution and to avoid spraying bayberry with pesticides.

The dynamic magneto-mechanical behaviors in a type of iron-nickel-based ferromagnetic alloy with constant elasticity were investigated as a function of both the DC bias magnetic field (Hdc) and the frequency. The rectangular plate-like samples were excited to vibrate at a half-wavelength, longitudinal resonance by an AC magnetic field superimposed with various Hdc. The experimental results found that the strain coefficient at resonance reached 819.34 ㎚/A and the effective mechanical quality factor (Qm) was greater than 2000. The ratio of the maximum variation of the Young’s modulus over Hdc to the value of the Young’s modulus at a zero bias field was only ~0.83‰ because of the so-called constant elasticity. The resonant strain coefficients and Qm are strongly dependent on Hdc, which indicates a promising potential for use in DC and quasistatic magnetic field sensing.
