      • Business-Driven Process Fragment Selections in RESTful Business Processes

        Past work showed that runtime adaptability of business processes can be improved by applying Representational State Transfer (REST) to design and implementation of business processes. However, the existing solutions for RESTful business processes (RESTfulBP) were focused on manual selection of process fragments to be composed at runtime. In this paper, we propose solutions that enable semi-automatic selection of process fragment at each decision-making point of RESTfulBP. The new built-in middleware MiniZnMASC can provide user based process fragment advice to knowledge workers in ways that achieve better overall business value while satisfying all existing constraints. In addition, we redesign the architecture of RESTfulBP in order to allow the business-driven decision-making solutions. The solutions are evaluated for feasibility, functional correctness, business benefits, and performance.

        Cyclic Response and Constitutive Model Study of G20Mn5QT Cast Steel

        A series of cyclic loading tests of G20Mn5QT cast steel are carried out at the strain ratio of − 1. The results of tests show that the G20Mn5QT cast steel has the similar tendency in cyclic softening with diff erent constant strain amplitude. A slight strain softening is observed, and then the stress states keep steady during the remaining cycles. A new damage variable is proposed considering the eff ects of strength degeneration within two inner variables which are the maximum equivalent plastic strain and the equivalent plastic strain increment. The damage variable provides better insight into the multiaxial cyclic loading and gives a reasonable prediction of failure under the loading history of constant strain amplitude. The proposed damage variable is further introduced in the cyclic constitutive model by the user subroutine interfaces VUMAT by the software ABAQUS. The relationships between the equivalent plastic strain and the damage variable, Young’s modulus and yield strength are fi nally put forward as it is expedient to get the equivalent plastic strain in the numerical analysis.

        Experimental research on load-bearing capacity of cast steel joints for beam-to-column

        The load transfer mechanism and load-bearing capacity of cast steel joints for H-shaped beam to square tube column connection are studied based on the deformation compatibility theory. Then the monotonic tensile experiments are conducted for 12 specimens about the cast steel joints for H-shaped beam to square tube column connection. The findings are that the tensile bearing capacity of the cast steel joints for beam-column connection depends on the ring of cast steel stiffener. The tensile fracture happens at the ring of the cast steel stiffener when the joint fails. The thickness of square tube column has little influence on the bearing capacity of the joint. The square tube column buckles while the joint without concrete filled, but the strength failure happens for the joint with concrete filled column. And the length of welding connection between square tube column and cast steel stiffener has little influence on the load-bearing capacity of the cast steel joint. Finally it is shown that the load-bearing capacity of the joints for H-shaped beam to concrete filled square tube column connection is larger than that of the joints for H-shaped beam to square tube column connection by 10% to 15%.

        Artificial Intelligence in the Prediction of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors on Endoscopic Ultrasonography Images: Development, Validation and Comparison with Endosonographers

        Background/Aims: The accuracy of endosonographers in diagnosing gastric subepithelial lesions (SELs) using endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is influenced by experience and subjectivity. Artificial intelligence (AI) has achieved remarkable development in this field. This study aimed to develop an AI-based EUS diagnostic model for the diagnosis of SELs, and evaluated its efficacy with external validation. Methods: We developed the EUS-AI model with ResNeSt50 using EUS images from two hospitals to predict the histopathology of the gastric SELs originating from muscularis propria. The diagnostic performance of the model was also validated using EUS images obtained from four other hospitals. Results: A total of 2,057 images from 367 patients (375 SELs) were chosen to build the models, and 914 images from 106 patients (108 SELs) were chosen for external validation. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of the model for differentiating gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and non-GISTs in the external validation sets by images were 82.01%, 68.22%, 86.77%, 59.86%, and 78.12%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy in the external validation set by tumors were 83.75%, 71.43%, 89.33%, 60.61%, and 80.56%, respectively. The EUS-AI model showed better performance (especially specificity) than some endosonographers. The model helped improve the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of certain endosonographers. Conclusions: We developed an EUS-AI model to classify gastric SELs originating from muscularis propria into GISTs and non-GISTs with good accuracy. The model may help improve the diagnostic performance of endosonographers. Further work is required to develop a multi-modal EUS-AI system.

        Progressive Collapse Analysis of Large-span Reticulated Domes

        The paper presents the progressive collapse analysis of large-span reticulated domes based on Alternate path (AP) method. Nonlinear buckling analysis is conducted on a large span roof with two different structural layouts. The results show that although large-span single-layer reticulated dome has a certain redundancy. When 10 key elements or 3 key nodes were removed, the single-layer reticulated dome under the service load would cause progressive collapse. Therefore the protection of key nodes of this structure should be strengthened. However, the redundancy of large-span double-layer reticulated dome is 7 to 13 times that of single-layer reticulated dome. When 10 key elements or 3 key nodes were removed, the double-layer reticulated dome under the service load would not cause progressive collapse. Hence, the resistance to progressive collapse of large-span double-layer reticulated dome is better than that of large-span single-layer reticulated dome.

        Endoscopic ultrasonography is useful for predicting perforation in the endoscopic resection of gastric submucosal tumors originating from the muscularis propria: a retrospective case-control study

        Purpose: Models for predicting perforation during endoscopic resection (ER) of gastric submucosal tumors (SMTs) originating from the muscularis propria (MP) are rare. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine important parameters in endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) images to predict perforation and to build predictive models. Methods: Consecutive patients with gastric SMTs originating from the MP who received ER from May 1, 2013 to January 15, 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. They were classified into case and control groups based on the presence of perforation. Logistic multivariate analysis was used to identify potential variables and build predictive models (models 1 and 2: with and without information on tumor pathology, respectively). Results: In total, 199 EUS procedures (194 patients) were finally chosen, with 99 procedures in the case group and 100 in the control group. The ratio of the inner distance to the outer distance (I/O ratio) was significantly larger in the case group than in the control group (median ratio, 2.20 vs. 1.53; P<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that age (odds ratio [OR], 1.036 in model 1; OR, 1.046 in model 2), the I/O ratio (OR, 2.731 in model 1; OR, 2.372 in model 2), and the pathology of the tumors (OR, 10.977 for gastrointestinal stromal tumors; OR, 15.051 for others in model 1) were risk factors for perforation. The two models to predict perforation had areas under the curve of 0.836 (model 1) and 0.755 (model 2). Conclusion: EUS was useful in predicting perforation in ER for gastric SMTs originating from the MP. Two predictive models were developed.

        Scutellaria baicalensis Inhibits Coxsackievirus B3-Induced Myocarditis Via AKT and p38 Pathways

        Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi has been widely used in China for treatment of various diseases. This study investigated the effect of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extracts (SBE) against Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3)-induced myocarditis in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, Hela cells and primary myocardial cells were infected with CVB3 and treated with SBE (50-800 μg/ml) and ribavirin (200 μM) for 48 h and then determined by CCK8 assay. Real-time PCR and western blotting assays were performed. In vivo, a myocarditis model was induced in male BALB/c mice by injecting CVB3 suspension intraperitoneally for three times, followed by treatment with SBE (400 and 200 mg/kg) and ribavirin (100 mg/kg) for 28 days. SBE ameliorated the cytotoxicity of CVB3 in Hela cells, especially at 400 μg/ml (39.93% vs 65.67%, p < 0.05) without influencing cell growth and also significantly reduced CVB3 replication in primary myocardial cells. The levels of AKT, ERK, and p38 were increased after CVB3 infection. SBE could downregulate the expressions of AKT and p38. In vivo, the mortality rate from CVB3 reached to 66.67%, while 10.00% and 23.33% of this came after 400 and 200 mg/kg SBE treatment, respectively (p < 0.05). The CVB3 replication was obviously reduced after SBE administration from day 5. Similarly, the levels of AKT, ERK, and p38 mRNAs and proteins were increased, and SBE suppressed the expression of AKT and p38. Our study indicates that SBE is a promising potent antiviral agent against CVB3-induced myocarditis by inhibition of virus replication via depressing AKT and p38 expressions.

        A Novel Low-cost Thin-film Flat Plate Photobioreactor for Microalgae Cultivation

        In this study, a novel thin-film flat plate photobioreactor (FPPBR) mounted with baffles and a 61.2 m2 (2,000 L) photobioreactor system based on the FPPBR were developed. The flow of the fluid in the thinfilm photobioreactor was investigated by means of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The cultivation of Chlorella sp. and Scenedesmus dimorphus in the thin-film FPPBR was carried out outdoors. The results showed that the flow of culture medium in different channels was uniform. In outdoor cultivation, the biomass productivity in the FPPBR with baffles was 25.2% higher than that in the FPPBR without baffles. In the pilot-scale FPPBR system, the maximum area productivity of Scenedesmus dimorphus reached 21.9 g/m2/day. When the service time of the photobioreactor was 1 and 3 years, the capital cost of the photobioreactor was 4.72 and 2.45 $ kgalgae, respectively. The results demonstrated that the thin-film FPPBR was cost effective, and it has the potential to be used for mass cultivation of microalgae.

        A New Micromechanical Criterion for Ductile Fracture of G20Mn5QT Cast Steels Under Shear Stress

        A new micromechanical criterion was proposed for ductile fracture caused by shear in low stress triaxiality regions. The infl uences of both the stress triaxiality and the Lode parameter were reasonably considered. The formula of the critical plastic strain for ductile fracture by shear was deduced based on the idea that the evolution of microvoids in materials under shear stresses is a successive procedure of nucleation, growth, elongation and collapse. Six shear specimens of G20Mn5QT cast steels were tested under monotonic tension. Three confi gurations of these specimens provided diff erent combinations of the stress triaxiality and the Lode parameter. The critical void compression ratio for the void collapse was determined based on unit cell analysis and the shape of the dimples on the fracture surfaces of the test specimens. Parameters in the proposed criterion were then calibrated for G20Mn5QT cast steels based on tests and complementary fi nite element analysis of the shear specimens. Finally, diff erent fracture mechanisms of G20Mn5QT cast steels were discussed.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A systematic understanding of genotype‐specific sensitivity or resistance to anticancer agents is required to provide improved patient therapy. The availability of an expansive panel of annotated cancer cell lines enables comparative surveys of associations between genotypes and compounds of various target classes. Thus, one can better predict the optimal treatment for a specific tumor. Here, we present a statistical framework, cell line enrichment analysis (CLEA), to associate the response of anticancer agents with major cancer genotypes. Multilevel omics data, including transcriptome, proteome and phosphatome data, were integrated with drug data based on the genotypic classification of cancer cell lines. The results reproduced known patterns of compound sensitivity associated with particular genotypes. In addition, this approach reveals multiple unexpected associations between compounds and mutational genotypes. The mutational genotypes led to unique protein activation and gene expression signatures, which provided a mechanistic understanding of their functional effects. Furthermore, CLEA maps revealed interconnections between TP53 mutations and other mutations in the context of drug responses. The TP53 mutational status appears to play a dominant role in determining clustering patterns of gene and protein expression profiles for major cancer genotypes. This study provides a framework for the integrative analysis of mutations, drug responses and omics data in cancers.</P>
