Ji-Hoon Jung,Young-Gun Pu,Chul Nam,Kang-Yoon Lee 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
This paper presents a sigma-delta modulation ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) and DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) for CODEC applications using 0.18um CMOS process. In the ADC parts, two sigma-delta modulators with 84㏈ SNR are designed for the stereo applications, and their outputs are merged at the digital domain before decimation filter. Digital decimation filter is integrated with the analog sigma-delta modulators for the full ADC operation. In the DAC parts, the digital data is first processed at the interpolator filters, and modulated by the following sigma-delta modulators. To reduce the mismatch effect of the following DAC, the dynamic element matching method is proposed in this paper. It is designed with 0.18㎛ CMOS process. The simulated SNR is about 100㏈, and the power consumption is 40㎃.

Ji-Rui Wang,Mei Deng,Ya-Xi Liu,Xin Qiao,Zhen-Hong Chen,Qian-Tao Jiang,Zhi-En Pu,Yu-Ming Wei,Eviatar Nevo,You-Liang Zheng 한국유전학회 2011 Genes & Genomics Vol.33 No.4
α-Amylase inhibitors are attractive candidates for the control of seed weevils as these insects are highly dependent on starch as an energy source. Wheat tetrameric α-amylase inhibitor (WTAI) is a mixture (60 kDa) of 3 units: WTAI-CM2 plus 2 WTAI-CM3 plus WTAI-CM16, where none of the subunits is active on its own. A total of 334 gene sequences were obtained from 14 populations (131 accessions= genotypes) of wild emmer wheat. The frequencies of SNPs in WTAI-CM2,WTAI-CM3 and WTAI-CM16 were 1 out of 87.6, 101.4, and 108.0 bases, where 5, 5 and 4 SNPs were detected in the coding sequence, respectively. The nucleotide sequence of each unit of tetrameric α-amylase inhibitors were much more conserved than that of dimeric or monomeric inhibitors. The wild emmer wheat populations showed diversity on three WTAI loci, both between and within populations. It was revealed that WTAI were naturally selected for across populations by a ratio of dN/dS as expected. The results of purifying and positive selection hypothesis (p<0.05) also showed that the sequences of WTAI were contributed by natural selection, which ensures the protein function conservation as well as the inhibition diversity with insects amylase enzyme. Ecological factors, singly or in combination, explained a significant proportion of the variations in the SNPs. Ecological factors have an important evolutionary role in gene differentiation at these loci, and tetrameric α-amylase inhibitors are obviously adaptively selected under different environments.

Final test in semiconductor manufacturing process is a very important step for quality control and cost reduction. The heat generated by the FOB (Fan Out Buffer) chips which is attached on the bottom side of socket board in the semiconductor test equipment causes target testing semiconductor’s temperature increasing and sometimes test equipment shutting down. Moreover, it makes confusing on deciding pass or fail. These problems would be the reasons of increasing test time and cost in semiconductor test process. One way to improve these phenomena is attaching a heat sink to the heating area. This study is about prediction of the effects by heat sink attachment using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and calculation of decreasing device temperature (target testing semiconductor) once heat sink is attached to the heat area.

On the basis of potent HDAC-inhibitory activity and anticancer activity of SAHA, novel SAHA derivatives 3a-d and 7 with a bulky cap such as p-dimethylaminophenyl, 4-phenylaminophenyl, 4-phenyloxyphenyl, 9H-fluorenyl or naphthalenyl ring were synthesized starting from the corresponding aryl amines or naphthalenyl acetic acid using an EDC-mediated amide coupling reaction in the presence of HOBt followed by a nucleophilic addition-elimination reaction with hydroxylamine. Compounds 3b, 3c and 3d showed more potent inhibitory activity on total HDACs (14~27-fold), HDAC1 (8~15-fold), HDAC2 (1.3~25-fold) and HDAC7 (1~3-fold) and more potent anticancer activity (2~22-fold) against MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, MCF-7/Dox, MCF-7/Tam, SK-OV-3, LNCaP and PC3 human cancer cell lines than SAHA.

Final inspection in semiconductor manufacturing process is a very important step for quality control and cost reduction. The inspection often includes environmental tests, and the heat release from the inspection equipment may sometimes lead to misjudgment. This study investigates the heat release and transfer of ASIC board and socket board used in the inspection process using computational fluid dynamics. The heat transfer characteristics for different configurations of the equipment were discussed to derive considerations to improve its design.

Both the Wnt/β-catenin and Ras pathways are aberrantly activated in most human colorectal cancers (CRCs) and interact cooperatively in tumor promotion. Inhibition of these signaling may therefore be an ideal strategy for treating CRC. We identified KY1220, a compound that destabilizes both β-catenin and Ras, via targeting the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, and synthesized its derivative KYA1797K. KYA1797K bound directly to the regulators of G-protein signaling domain of axin, initiating β-catenin and Ras degradation through enhancement of the β-catenin destruction complex activating GSK3β. KYA1797K effectively suppressed the growth of CRCs harboring APC and KRAS mutations, as shown by various in vitro studies and by in vivo studies using xenograft and transgenic mouse models of tumors induced by APC and KRAS mutations. Destabilization of both β-catenin and Ras via targeting axin is a potential therapeutic strategy for treatment of CRC and other type cancers activated Wnt/β-catenin and Ras pathways.
Inhibition of Nemo-like Kinase Increases Taxol Sensitivity in Laryngeal Cancer
Dong, Ji-Rui,Guo, Nan,Zhao, Jian-Pu,Liu, Pin-Duo,Feng, Hui-Hong,Li, Yan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12
Several studies have shown that nemo-like kinase (NLK) plays a vital role in apoptosis of cancer cells. The present research concerned effects and mechanisms of Taxol on NLK knockdown human laryngeal cancerHep-2 cell lines in vitro. Using RNAi, methyl-thiazoltetrazolium (MTT) assays, real-time RT-PCR, Western blotting and flow cytometry analysis, growth and the cell cycle progression of NLK knockdown Hep-2 cells and expression of downstream molecules were observed. Cell growth was obviously suppressed in the Taxol treated group (P<0.001, 48 hours). Cell numbers of combined Taxol-based chemotherapy with lentivirus mediated RNAi treatment group (Lv-shNLK+Taxol goup) were significantly different from NLK-specific siRNA lentivirus infected group (Lv-shNLK group) (p<0.001). Flow cytometry analysis revealed that Lv-shNLK+Taxol caused the G0/G1-phase DNA content to decrease from 44.1 to 3.33% (p<0.001) and the S-phase DNA content to increase from 38.4 to 82.0% (p<0.001), in comparison with the Lv-shNLK+Taxol group. Immunoblot analysis showed that knockdown of NLK led to significant reduction in the levels of cyclin D1, PCNA and PARP, whereas cyclin B1 was elevated in. Cell growth was also obviously suppressed in the Hep-2 cell line, knockdown of NLK making them more sensitive to Taxol treatment. NLK is expected to become a target of new laryngeal cancer gene therapies.

Pyrolysis thermally decomposes lignocellulosic materials into tar vapor and gases leaving the carbonaceous solid residue (char). Although numerous studies have been reported for this key process of biomass thermal conversion, pyrolysis remains as the most complicated phenomena due to the complexity associated with the structural changes, a large number of compounds generated and their secondary reactions. One difficulty in biomass studies is the gap between the analytical characterization using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and pyrolysis of actual large particles. This paper reports a preliminary study on the effect of particle size in pyrolysis using wood pellets. The pyrolytic mass loss curve from a TGA with fine sawdust and a thermobalance with large pellets were compared, and the difference was discussed using prediction of heat transfer rates. Further study is required on detailed product characterization including the tar and gases for various particle sizes.

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which adolescents perform COVID-19 preventive behaviors and identify related factors based on the health belief model. The subjects were students enrolled in high schools located in J Province, and data were collected from 221 students. Using SPSS 24.0, the data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analyses. As a result of the study, the average level of COVID-19 preventive behaviors was 3.96±0.65. Among the factors of the Health Belief Model, the self-efficacy (β=.578 p<.001) and perceived severity (β=.108, p=.038) were related factors in the performance of COVID-19 preventive behaviors. Therefore, it suggests that differentiated strategies are needed to increase adolescents performance of infection preventive behaviors in the context of a new infectious disease epidemic, and in particular, it is necessary to develop strategies that emphasize perceived severity and self-efficacy of preventive behaviors among health beliefs.
