한국 정부는 “일본해”라는 명칭을 부인하고 있다. 16세기 이후 동서양 지도에 나타는 지명 분석은 이 지역을 지칭하기 위한 많은 용어들을 보여준다. 이 문제는 일본의 한국 식민지화와 관련된 분쟁이라는 의미 의외에 독도/다케시마 섬과 관련된 한일 경계선 분쟁과 배타적 경제수역의 범위 결정과 관계가 있다. The name <<Sea of Japan>> is being contested by the South Korean State. The analysis of toponymy on Western or Asian maps from the 16th century on reveals many names have been used to designate the area. Beyond a disagreement partly inherited from the Japanese colonization of Korea, the problem is connected to the border dispute between Korea and Japan about the Tok-to/Takeshima islands and EEZ delimitation.
Analogical Uses of the First Person Pronoun: A Difficulty in Philosophical Semantics

Analogical counterfactuals such as "If I were you, I would do so and so…" create a puzzle for philosophical semantics. Whereas the `received view` in philosophical semantics has it that the first person pronoun always refers to its utterer, one may wonder whether this is still the case when the first person pronoun is embedded in analogical counterfactuals such as (2) "If I were you, I would stay away from me". I suggest that the intelligibility of (2) lies in the fact that the token of the expression `I` in the consequent of the counterfactual does not refer to its utterer. Should one then conclude, following the `anaphoric theory` that the second occurrence of `I` in (2) does refer to its addressee? For the `anaphoric theory`, `I` in `I would stay away from me` refers anaphorically, thanks to the linguistic context, to the referent of `you` in `If I were you`. On the basis of an analysis of the imaginative project involved in uttering a practical advise in the form of (2), I suggest contra the `anaphoric theory` that the first pronoun `I` in the consequent of (2) behaves as an indexical and that its content is obtained by the application of its character to a pretend context differing from the context of its utterance. According to the so-called `pretence theory`, the first person pronoun in its second occurrence in (2) pretends to refer to a fictional composite of the utterer and the addressee.
The Ciliary Transition Zone: Finding the Pieces and Assembling the Gate

Eukaryotic cilia are organelles that project from the surface of cells to fulfill motility and sensory functions. In vertebrates, the functions of both motile and immotile cilia are critical for embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis. Importantly, a multitude of human diseases is caused by abnormal cilia biogenesis and functions which rely on the compartmentalization of the cilium and the maintenance of its protein composition. The transition zone (TZ) is a specialized ciliary domain present at the base of the cilium and is part of a gate that controls protein entry and exit from this organelle. The relevance of the TZ is highlighted by the fact that several of its components are coded by ciliopathy genes. Here we review recent developments in the study of TZ proteomes, the mapping of individual components to the TZ structure and the establishment of the TZ as a lipid gate.
Hy-HIL : new test platform for the development of hybrid vehicle

D2T, RENAULT, IFP, LMS and G2ELAB launched together the HyHIL project, a new test platform for the development of hybrid vehicles. HyHIL uses a suite of generic tools, such as D2T’s MORPHEE 2 automation system, to reproduce and assess the complex architecture of hybrid vehicles in a unique and flexible way. Combining an IC engine with an electric motor is complex: it increases the number of parameters to be calibrated during the development. This means increased time and cost, while the market demand is asking for their reduction. HyHIL helps to solve this problem by defining the best architecture of a hybrid powertrain at the early stages of development. The platform evaluates hybrid powertrain concepts and the benefits of different levels of hybridization in an engine test bed, thanks to real-time simulations developed with LMS’ AMESim simulation platform and executed by D2T’s MORPHEE 2 automation system. MORPHEE 2 executes real time models required to simulate both hybrid vehicle and driver. The MORPHEE 2 flexibility allows switching easily between the three hybrid architectures retained for this project: - "Pure thermal" mode, with simulation of an alternator-starter. - "Stop & Start" mode, with simulation of the engine’s frequent stop/start phases. - "Hybrid" mode, with simulation of electric propulsion, energy recovery during deceleration phases and battery recharging. These architectures have been tested over several standard driving cycles (NEDC, FTP, Artemis, etc.) using an energy supervisor developed by IFP which is sufficiently generic not to require specific calibration. The results obtained on the engine test bed were compared to results obtained on a real vehicle; the simulation proved to be a very realistic representation. Simulation, with the use of an environment such as AMESim and MORPHEE 2, offers a real way to assess complex powertrains without the need to manufacture the powertrain or even the complete car.

In many parts of the world early childhood services are disconnected in ways that reduce their effectiveness in supporting family life, healthy child development, and the transition to school. Furthermore, access to these services is often limited, particularly for marginalized families. There is increasing policy interest around the world in building early childhood service systems that are universal and integrated, as a way of strengthening the effectiveness and equity of early childhood services. Although there is a growing push to unify child care and education in a universal system, both in Canada and elsewhere, a fully integrated system would bring together additional services for family support, health and community programs. The Toronto First Duty demonstration project was designed to test the feasibility and effects of a universal model for integrating child care, kindergarten, family support and other services in school-based community hubs. The intent of the project partners- a charitable foundation, municipal government, and school board- was to mobilize knowledge to improve early childhood programs and policy at both the local and provincial levels. A university-based research team has worked over the last decade to evaluate the implementation process and outcomes of the project, and has contributed to the knowledge mobilization for practice and policy change. The research found positive evidence on the feasibility of implementing the model, as well as evidence about the processes that work through program and family pathways to enhance child development and parenting. Findings from the project have helped to move provincial policy in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada. Although fixed models may not apply to new contexts, some of the evidence-informed design principles from this project converge with findings from other jurisdictions and have broad implications for policies promoting universal, integrated service systems for early childhood.
