Until the up to day, we have known that a tight iliotibial tract has an influence on the patella, pulling it laterally and causing pain in patients with patellofemoral syndrome, so should be stretched as a part of physical therapy. But the iliotibial tract's function on the patella in subjects with PFS has not yet been proved and further questions need to be answered regarding the evaluation or treatment of a tight tract in patients with PFS.

The main purpose of this article is to suggest a modified SNAGs manual method in based of Mulligan techniques. And this study aimed to resolve the back pain which has combined movement dysfunction in lumbar spine, in addition to upgrade of manual therapy technique in clinical field. The results of this study were as following; 1. The first introduction of SNAGs in Korea is the 'International Mulligan Concepts and Techniques Seminar' by Prof. Russell M. Woodman(Quinnipiac college, USA), 1998. SNAGs is defined a mobilization with movement manual therapy that facet joints of the lesion mobilized to anterior-superior direction according to the treatment plane in apophyseal joint of hypomobility. 2. A treatment mechanism of the SNAGs is, Mulligan say, HIVD which is the result of posterior disk bulging from a increased between intervertebral pressure due to hypo-mobile of facet joints in abnormal spine, so therapist should be necessary mobilization of zygophyseal joints especially in disk lesion. 3. Because Mulligan does not yet mentioned SNAGs techniques about a back pain with combined movements dysfunction, so we suggest a modified SNAGs method for manual therapy of back pain patients due to combined movement dysfunction at lumbar.

Markolf and Morris suggests that the deranged disk and torn annulus have an exellent re-covery ability from the position of spine extension, where the posterior annulus is not under stress and the gel can move anterioly. McKenzie explains side gliding as a combination of rotaion and side bending, his clinical studies indicate that side-gliding can gel laterally. In conclusion, the prone unilateral traction on the opposite side from the patient's pain along with the other treatment appered to have helped reduce those patient's pain. The method of treatment described in this report is suggest-ed for Korean physical therapists who treat patients suspected of posterolateral herniated nu-cleus pulposus.

Traction is the treatment of choice for a small nuclear protrusin. The nucleus is soft and can be influenced by suction. Traction provides a method of improving on recumben-cy-the only effective treatment before traction was devised. The intention is to achieve rapid reduction by distraction the joint surfaces mechanically-a positive purpose-instead of merely avoiding the compression of the upright posture by putting the patient to bed and leaving him there. Recumbency, usually successful in the end, wastes an endless amount of the patient's time and money. Traction carries the further advantage of enabling th epatient to be up and about, attending to his bussiness, during treatment. Traction brings the joint surfaces much farther apart than just lying in bed, a greater centripet force acts on the protruded part of the nucleus. Traction has three beneficial effects; 1. Suction : a sub-atmospheric pressure induces a centripetal effect on the contents. 2. Distraciton : increase the distance between the articular edges. X-rays have shown an increase in width of the joint of 2.5 mm. 3. Ligamentous tightening : the posterior longitudinal ligament tightens which then exerts centipetal forde on a central protrusion.

For the the enhancement of educational efficiency in on-site training of 3-year health college program, the authors perofrmed a survey. From the survey result the authors came to conclusions as follows, The duration of training in the health college programs should be extended as one year through the extension of length of study. Evaluations in training sites were thought to be unreasonable, and therefore the evaluation system should be improved or newly developed. Educators in colleges are also urged to participate in various workshops to catch the new theory and changing technologies. All health alleges should try to expand their experimental facilities and equipments. Securing suitable training places is very difficult for some colleges located in small cities. At this point the governmental meddling is keenly required to ease the situation. Each training place must prepare its own educational program on which the educators can execute schedules. Training fee is another intricate matter for both collegs and training places. Some criteria for the amount per trainee and proper paying methods should be suggested in the earliest time. Considering the highly sophisticated equipment and higher wages for the manpower within the laboratories and relevanat places, the education in managerial aspects should be included in the programs. To enhance the effiency in the trainings, the student's daily report should be practical one not formalistic, and opportunities to handle the sophisticated equipments should be given to the trainees, and paying the careful consideration to trainees would be desirable.
