Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) is rarely reported in patients who have normal immune function. Recently, IPA risk was reported in nonimmunocompromised hosts, such as patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and critically ill patients in intensive care units. Moreover, influenza infection is also believed to be associated with IPA among immunocompetent patients. However, most reports on IPA with influenza A infection, including pandemic influenza H1N1, and IPA associated with influenza B infection were scarcely reported. Here, we report probable IPA with a fatal clinical course in an immunocompetent patient with influenza B infection. We demonstrate IPA as a possible complication in immunocompetent patients with influenza B infection. Early clinical suspicion of IPA and timely antifungal therapy are required for better outcomes in such cases.
Oral Hairy Leukoplakia in Patient with Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection

Oral hairy leukoplakia occurs on the lateral surface of the tongue that clinically as an asymptomatic white lesion. It is mainly found in patient with human immunodeficiency virus infection. However, it rarely outbreak immunosuppressed patients after organ transplantation, or the patients taking steroids or immunosuppressants. It is the result of proliferating Epstein-Barr virus in the oral epithelium. Most of human immunodeficiency virus infected patients with oral hairy leukoplakia are highly contagious and possible to progress acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Therefore, the early diagnosis of oral hairy leukoplakia is very important. Taking a thorough history and human immunodeficiency virus screening test is highly recommended in case oral hairy leukoplakia is detected. In this case, a 29-year-old man presented with whitish lesion on lateral border of tongue is diagnosed as oral hairy leukoplakia and human immunodeficiency virus infection.

Motion during human walking can be represented as a sequence of poses. Precise data acquisition for motion analysis usually consumes time and cost. For most of the researches about gait, the number of training data is usually smaller than the dimensionality of features. Therefore, dimensionality reduction methods are applied to extract important features by eliminating redundancy. Principal component analysis (PCA) is a method that preserves maximum data variation with reduced components by a linear transformation. Though there had been various nonlinear methods to address the limitations of PCA, some works showed that PCA could have better performance than those methods depending on the distribution of data. This study compares PCA and two nonlinear methods, t-SNE, and multilayer autoencoders on gait motion. Dataset used in this study contains 1952 trials of walking motion capture. Nonlinear methods were implemented as encoder and decoder pair, which are fully connected neural networks. The methods were compared in terms of reconstruction error of original data and preservation of pairwise Euclidean distance in reduced dimension. The results suggest a proper method how to reduce the dimensionality of walking motion, with the pros and cons of each of them.
Design process of patient-specific osteosynthesis plates using topology optimization

To reduce complications related to the osteosynthesis plating system, the use of a patient-specific plate design was proposed. However, the issue of associated complications is still critical. Because existing patient-specific plate designs have mainly relied on parametric studies, a design method is needed that considers the complex factors influencing the performance of the reconstruction and that can be generalized for various patients. The goal of this study was to propose a design process that can strengthen the advantages of a customized plate to reduce patient discomfort and ensure the stability of surgery. We applied topology optimization to design a plate for a case of mandibular condyle fracture. The optimization problem was set to maximize the plate stiffness and minimize its volume. The performance of the designed plate was evaluated using finite element simulations, which approximated the various mastication states. Plate performance was then compared with the performance of two conventional plating systems: bent plates and computerized numerical control-machined plates. The conventional plate models used a pair of mini-plates, and the bent plate was modeled by conducting bending simulation. Each finite element model was appraised via masticatory simulations under static molar-jaw-closing conditions. Differences in stress concentration were noted between the model with bent plates and the model with computerized numerical control-machined plates. The most severe stress concentration occurred in the bent plate, which was affected by the residual stress from the bending process. In comparison with the two conventional plates, the newly designed plate exhibited significantly improved biomechanical stability in terms of stress and stiffness and had approximately twice the endurance capability against fractured bone separation. The newly designed plate was designed to have a balance between volume and plate stiffness, and it showed superior stability over the conventional plates. The proposed plate design process using topology optimization is an effective method not only because it enhances the advantages of the patient-specific plate but also because it can be applied in various reconstruction cases.
바나듐과 Fe-Zeolite Urea-SCR 촉매의 NOx 저감특성에 관한 연구

Urea SCR system is well known technology to reduce NOx from diesel engine. In Korea, Vanadium SCRs have been used in heavy-duty commercial vehicles with introducing EURO-4. As vanadium is regarded as the material of causing cancer, Zeolite SCR would be technical alternative to meet next regulation stage. In this study, NOx reduction characteristics have been compared between Vanadium and Fe-Zeolite SCR depending on some parameters like space velocity, NO2/NOx ratio, NH3 concentration, etc. The tested vanadium and Fe-Zeolite SCR have similar tendency in NOx reduction as above parameters, but show quite different performance characteristics in low temperature.
Mobility-Aware Interference Avoidance Scheme for Vehicular WLANs

Communication technology of future networks is predicted to provide a large variety of services including WiFi service in vehicular network. In this paper, we assume that vehicles are embedded with WiMAX antenna and in-vehicle terminals receive WiMAX traffic through WiFi interface. This assumption will impose severe performance degradation due to interference among mobile BSSs when WiFi access points (APs) are densely located. Existing interference avoidance techniques cannot properly resolve the above problems and do not cope with dynamically moving vehicular scenario since they focus only on the fixed network topology. In this paper, we propose a mobility-aware interference avoidance scheme for WiFi services. The proposed scheme computes the interference duration by exploiting mobility vector and location information of neighboring APs. If the interference duration is not negligible, our scheme searches for another channel in order to avoid interference. However, if the interference duration is negligible, our scheme continues to use the channel to reduce switching overhead. To measure the effectiveness of the proposed scheme against other existing techniques, we evaluated performance by using OPNET simulator. Through the simulation, we obtained about 60% reduction in the maximum interference frequency and about 67% improvement in throughput. Furthermore, our scheme provides fair channel usage.
소셜 관계 랭크 및 토픽기반_소셜 관계 랭크 알고리즘; 소셜 검색을 향해

“소셜 네트워크(Social Network)와 검색(Search)의 만남”은 현재 인터넷 상에서 매우 의미 있는 두 영역의 결합이다. 이와 같은 두 영역의 결합을 통해 소셜 네트워크 내에서 친구들의 생각이나 관심사 및 활동을 검색하고 공유함으로써 검색의 효율성과 적합성을 높이기 위한 연구들이 활발히 수행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 일반적인 소셜 관계 랭크(SRR : Social Relation Rank) 및 토픽이 반영된 소셜 관계 랭크(TS_SRR : Topic Sensitive_Social Relation Rank) 알고리즘을 제안한다. SRR은 소셜 네트워크 내에 존재하는 웹 사용자들의 내재적인 특성 및 검색 성향 등에 대한 관련성(또는 유사정도)을 수치로 산정한 ‘소셜 관계 지수(SRV : Social Relation Value)’에 랭킹(Ranking)을 부여한 것을 의미한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 검색 적용 가능성을 검증하기 위해 첫째, 웹 사용자간 직접 또는 간접적인 연결로 구성된 소셜 네트워크를 구성 한다. 둘째, 웹 사용자들의 속성에 내재된 정보를 이용하여 토픽별 SRV를 산정한 후 랭킹을 부여하고, 토픽별 변화되는 랭킹에 따라 소셜 네트워크를 재구성 한다. 마지막으로 (TS_)SRR과 웹 사용자들의 검색 패턴(Search Pattern)을 비교 실험 한다. 실험 결과 (TS_)SRR이 높은 웹 사용자 간에는 검색 패턴 또한 유사함을 확인 하였다. 결론적으로 (TS_)SRR 알고리즘을 기반으로 관심분야에 연관성이 높은, 즉 상위에 랭크 된 웹 사용자들을 검색하여 검색 패턴을 공유 또는 상속받는 다면 개인화 검색(Personalized Search) 및 소셜 검색(Social Search)의 효율성과 신뢰성 향상에 기여 할 수 있다.

MANET에서 모든 이동 노드들은 한정된 배터리에 의존하면서 통신하므로, 이동 노드의 에너지에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 하지만 지금까지 대부분의 연구들은 높은 처리량 또는 에너지 소모의 한 측면만을 고려하여 연구되고 있기 때문에 결국 둘 중 어느 한 측면은 제한사항 및 단점으로 남아있다. 본 논문에서는 처리량과 이동 노드의 에너지 소모율을 동시에 고려하여 네트워크 수명을 좀 더 오래 지속 시키기 위한 프로토콜인 Protocol Considering Both Battery Consumption and Throughput in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks(PCBT)를 제안한다. 성능 평가를 위해 NS-2를 사용하였으며 시뮬레이션 결과들은 PCBT가 성능 향상 및 에너지를 효율적으로 사용하고 있음을 보여준다.
