Objectives: The incidence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has increased, particularly among individuals who have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Health literacy is considered a “social vaccine” that helps people respond effectively to the pandemic. We aimed to investigate the association between long COVID-19 and PTSD, and to examine the modifying role of health literacy in this association. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at 18 hospitals and health centers in Vietnam from December 2021 to October 2022. We recruited 4,463 individuals who had recovered from COVID-19 infection for at least 4 weeks. Participants provided information about their sociodemographics, clinical parameters, health-related behaviors, health literacy (using the 12-item short-form health literacy scale), long COVID-19 symptoms and PTSD (Impact Event Scale-Revised score of 33 or higher). Logistic regression models were used to examine associations and interactions. Results: Out of the study sample, 55.9% had long COVID-19 symptoms, and 49.6% had PTSD. Individuals with long COVID-19 symptoms had a higher likelihood of PTSD (odds ratio [OR], 1.68; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.63–2.12; p<0.001). Higher health literacy was associated with a lower likelihood of PTSD (OR, 0.98; 95% CI, 0.97–0.99; p=0.001). Compared to those with long COVID-19 symptoms and the lowest health literacy score, those with long COVID-19 symptoms and a 1-point health literacy increment had a 3% lower likelihood of PTSD (OR, 0.97; 95% CI, 0.96–0.99; p=0.001).Conclusion: Health literacy was found to be a protective factor against PTSD and modified the negative impact of long COVID-19 symptoms on PTSD.
Work Motive Distribution of Public Universities Lecturers in Hanoi
PHAM, Ngoc Thach,BUI, Van Huyen,HA, Dieu Linh,LE, Thi Lan Huong Korea Distribution Science Association 2022 유통과학연구 Vol.20 No.11
Purpose: The study aims to investigate the impact of factors affecting the work motive distribution of public universities lecturers in Hanoi. Research design, data and methodology: The questionnaire survey method is applied in this research to analyze the relationship between the variables and verify the hypothesis based on the collected 306 valid questionnaires. The partial least square method structural equation model (PLS-SEM) is used to carry out structural equation modeling to study the relationship between latent variables with reliable tools (SmartPLS 3.0 software). Results: The research results show that the intrisic motivation of the lecturers, the extrisic motivation of the lecturers and the job characteristics of the lecturers all have a positive impact on the motivation of public universities lecturers in Hanoi. In which, intrinsic motivation has the greatest influence on the work motive distribution of lecturers. In addition, the research results also prove that job characteristics affect the work motive distribution of lecturers. This is a new factor in the factors affecting the work motive distribution of public universities lecturers. Conclusion: Based on the research results, the authors propose some recommendations to increase the work motive distribution of public universities lecturers in Hanoi through improving the factors affecting their work motive distribution.

Abstract

A library of extracted natural materials (Korea Bioactive Natural Material Bank) have been screened to discover candidates for the treatment of non-alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD), and the 70% ethanol extract of Sicyos angulatus was found to inhibit hepatic lipid accumulation. Bioassay–guided fractionation of this bioactive extract yielded five previously undescribed flavonoid glycosides and one previously undescribed flavonolignan glycoside along with seven known flavonoid glycosides. The chemical structures of these compounds were elucidated by a combination of extensive spectroscopic analysis, including MS, NMR and UV techniques. Eight compounds of all isolated compounds showed inhibitory effects on the lipid accumulation induced by high concentrations of palmitic acid and glucose in HepG2 cells. Four selected compounds were tested for lipid content in a dose-dependent manner (10, 20 and 40 μM), and among those compounds, kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-7-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside showed the strongest inhibition of hepatic lipid production in HepG2 cells. In an oil-red O staining assay, five compounds were shown to reduce hepatic lipid accumulation better than what was observed in the vehicle control group. The present study suggests a new class of chemical entities for developing bioactive agents for the treatment of diseases caused by fat accumulation in the liver.

Highlights

Six previously undescribed flavone glycosides were isolated from Sicyos angulatus.

Four compounds significantly reduced fat accumulation in HepG2 cells.

Kaempferol derivatives with a cinnamoyl moiety showed stronger inhibitory activity on hepatic lipid accumulation.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Factors Affecting Customer Satisfaction When Buying on Facebook in Vietnam
TO, Tha Hien,DO, Du Kim,BUI, Lan Thi Hoang,PHAM, Huong Thi Lan Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.10
With the strong growth of social networking sites such as Facebook in recent years, the potential of exploiting customers on Facebook is increasing. Presently, trading activities on Facebook is rapidly developing. Therefore, businesses have become increasingly competitive when selling products on Facebook, so as to retain customers as well as to satisfy customer, which is of paramount importance. This study was conducted to assess the factors affecting the satisfaction of individual customers in Vietnam when buying goods on Facebook. This study uses multivariate analysis techniques (Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling) to determine the factors affecting customer satisfaction when buying goods on Facebook. Research results from 268 individual customers in Vietnam indicated trust and convenience are the two important factors related to customer satisfaction when buying goods on Facebook. Customer satisfaction is the result of consumer experience throughout the different stages of purchase. The more the shopping experience, the more the customers are satisfied when buying products. The price and products do not affect customer satisfaction (prices are easy to compare and products are easily understood on the Internet; hence, these two factors are not considered as determinants of customer satisfaction). Furthermore, this study provides recommendations to improve customer satisfaction.

Purpose: This study is undertaken from the standpoint of student-centered learning and theoretical paradigms that have developed in the business world and display conceptual affinities: the transfer of knowledge and training. Research design, data and methodology: Utilizing questionnaire surveys and multivariate data analysis are two research methodologies (CFA, SEM). Around 201 undergraduate students who were studying in Vietnam provided the data. Results: The results show importance of the faculty role in students’ knowledge acquisition. The findings show that Ability to form a good relationship positively influences the development of competence. Additionally, neither ability to develop a good relationship nor learning drive or knowledge acquisition are significantly correlated with one another. The growth of competencies is positively impacted by the suitability of teaching approaches. Knowledge acquisition is favorably impacted by learning motivation, and knowledge acquisition in turn is positively impacted by competence development. Conclusions: Research has shown the important role of lecturers in students' knowledge acquisition. From this result, some implications related to lecturers are also given to help improve students' ability to acquire knowledge. Building good relationships with students (ready to answer questions, positive relationships) and good expertise will help increase learning motivation, ability to acquire knowledge as well as improve development for students.
