        유치와 영구치의 외상에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 2003년 1월부터 2007년 7월까지 전남대학교 병원 소아치과와 응급실에 치아 외상을 주소로 내원한 환자 570명(치아수: 1394개)을 대상으로 연령, 성별분포, 발생원인 및 장소, 손상 받은 치아의 위치 및 유형, 초진시 처치 등에 대한 조사를 통해 외상에 대한 적절한 진단과 치료에 도움이 되고자 시행하였다. 1. 성별에 따른 발생빈도는 1.9:1로 남자의 비율이 높았고, 나이에 따른 발생 빈도는 1세, 6~8세, 17~18세 때 높았다. 2. 외상의 원인은 유치열과 혼합치열에는 넘어진 경우가 가장 많았으며 영구치열에서는 교통사고와 싸움으로 인한 손상 빈도가 높았다. 외상을 입은 장소는 유치열은 집에서, 혼합치열, 영구치열에는 길에서 비율이 높았다. 3. 외상시 손상 받은 치아의 위치는 유치와 영구치 모두 상악 중절치의 비율이 높았다. 손상의 유형은 유치와 영구치 모두 치주조직의 손상이 많았는데, 유치는아탈구, 진탕, 함입 순이었으며, 영구치는 아탈구, 진탕, 완전탈구 순이었다. 4. 초진시의 처치는 특별한 처치 없이 경과를 관찰하는 경우가 대부분이었으며, 유치는 33.1%, 영구치에서는 44.5%의 재 내원률을 보였다. 치주조직 손상 후 유치는 20.3%, 영구치는 26.6%의 치수 괴사율을 보였다. This study was carried out to give basic information of traumatic injuries of primary and permanent teeth which can be used for diagnosis and management of injured teeth. From January 2003 to July 2007, 570 children with 1394 teeth who came to pediatric dentistry and emergency center of Chonnam National University Hospital due to the traumatized teeth participated in this study. The following data were investigated. : age, sex, causes and places of trauma, position of injured teeth, types of injury, and treatment at the first visit. 1. Trauma prevailed at the age of 1.6 ~ 8, 17 ~ 18 and the rate of males was more likely to be higher than the rate offemales(1.9 : 1). 2. The main cause of injury is a fall-down injury for primary and mixed dentition, but is a traffic accident and fighting for permanent dentition, respectably. The place of injury for primary dentition is mainly home(45.3%), while street for mixed and permanent dentition. 3. The position of injured teeth according to the area in the mouth is mainly maxillary anterior teeth in both case of primary and permanent teeth and especially, the ratio of central incisors is high. 4. The periodontal tissue injury occurred the most frequently in the primary and the permanent teeth, but the ratio of hard tissue injury in the permanent teeth increased, compared with the primary teeth. 5. Among treatments at the first visit, observation without actual treatment comprised 75.6% in the primary teeth and 55.4% in the permanent teeth, respectably. The pulp necrosis occurred in 20.3% of the primary teeth and 26.6% of the permanent teeth in the case of the periodontal tissue injuries, respectably.

        기저세포모반 증후군 환아의 증례보고

        기저세포모반증후군은 상염색체 우성으로 유전하며 외배엽성과 중배엽성 기관과 장기에 이환된다. 기저세포모반 증후군은 특징적으로 피부 이상,치아와 골격 이상,안과적 장애,신경 장애,생식계 이상 등이 나타난다. 악골의 병소는 보통 여러 부위를 포함하는 치성각화 낭종이며 상,하악에 모두 나타난다. 다발성 악골 낭종은 워낙 높은 재발율을 가진 각화성 낭종이기 때문에 완전 적출을 위해 적극적인 치료를 해야 한다. 제거 후는 재발 여부를 확인하기 위해 신중한 주기적 재검진이 필요하다. 본 증례는 다별성 치성낭종의 치료를 위해 내원한 환자가 기저세포모반증후군으로 진단되어 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하는 바이다. 이 환자는 전두골 돌출,양안격리증,정신지체 및 상,하악에 2개의 치성 각화낭종을 가지고 있었다. 낭종은 조대술로 치료되었고 현재 obturator와 공간유지장치로 유지하고 있으며 치아 맹출 여부를 관찰하고 있다. Nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome is an ecto-mesodermal polydysplasia with numerous manifestations that affect multiple organs. The syndrome is an autosomal dominant inherited, with a high penetration and visible expression. The syndrome is characterized by a series of associated anomalies such as cutaneous, dentofacial, skeletal, ophthalmologic. neurological, and genital anomalies. Generally. the jaw cysts are multiple odontogenic keratocysts. affecting any area of maxilla and mandible. Multiple odontogenic keratocysts of this syndrome are more recurrent than the keratocysts of non-syndrome. thus they are treated aggressively for complete removal, We report a case of multiple jaw cysts associated with nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome. In clinical and radiological examinations. frontal bossing. hypertelorism. mild mental retardation and two odontogenic keratocysts in both the maxilla and mandible were observed. Two cysts were treated by marsupialization. For the management of eruption of unerupted teeth. periodic recall check and orthodontic treatment are required.

        Statistical total information was suggested by modifying Gell-Mann's total information in the process of dividing by bit number of composing elements. Results of application satisfied set condition of information suggested by Gell-Mann, converged in the case that all elements are known, and expressed the differences with deterministic information. To find the relation with real value, total information gathered in Encyclopedia regressed with land value and showed significant relation. Further research on automatic gathering information in more stable IGUS like internet would benefit assessing ambiguous value like environment and human feeling.

        Affinity Peptide-guided Plasmonic Biosensor for Detection of Noroviral Protein and Human Norovirus

        In this study, we developed an affinity peptideguided plasmonic biosensor that is capable of detection for noroviral capsid proteins and human norovirus. Construction of plasmonic biosensor was achieved by immobilization of affinity peptides (named norovirus binding peptides) on the localized surface plasmonic sensor (LSPR) layer for detection of noroviral capsid proteins and human norovirus. The performance of the plasmonic biosensor in detection of their targets was monitored using LSPR techniques. This specific interaction is proportional to the absorbance of LSPR signals. The lowest detection value for noroviral capsid protein was 0.1 ng/mL in the presence of complex tissue culture media (MEM and FBS), and limit of detection (LOD) for human norovirus was found to be 9.9 copies/mL by the 3-σ rule. Interestingly, no dynamic binding response with norovirus binding peptides as affinity reagent was observed against rotavirus, suggesting that norovirus binding peptides have high selectivity for human norovirus. Thus, norovirus binding peptide-guided plasmonic biosensor could be used for the detection of norovirus-related foodborne pathogens.

        Shape-controlled assemblies of graphitic carbon nitride polymer for efficient sterilization therapies of water microbial contamination via 2D g-C<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub> under visible light illumination

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Bacterial pathogens of water origin have potential public threats thus suggesting the need of developing efficient and sustainable water disinfection strategies from waterborne pathogens. We set out to synthesize different controlled morphologies of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB>) polymer, evaluate their comparative effects on the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and investigate potential applications in water purification systems. Characterization of the synthesized microstructures of g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB>, such as melamine-cyanuric acid (MCA)-based rosette-type, rod-type, 2D hexagonal, and 3D cubic mesoporous silica was accomplished using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The microbial inhibitory potential of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> photocatalyst against waterborne <I>Escherichia coli</I>, <I>Staphylococcus aureus</I>, and <I>Salmonella typhimurium</I> was evaluated based on the effective activity of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> upon visible light excitations. The microbicidal efficiency of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> was evident within 30 min of visible light exposure via direct interaction, while other microstructures of g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> demonstrated only slight antimicrobial effects after 120 min, with insufficient ROS generation. The antimicrobial and ROS-generating effects of 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> depended on the type and surface area of the synthesized 2D g-C<SUB>3</SUB>N<SUB>4</SUB> material.         Visible-light-driven dynamic cancer therapy and imaging using graphitic carbon nitride nanoparticles

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Organic graphitic carbon nitride nanoparticles (NP-g-CN), less than 30 nm in size, were synthesized and evaluated for photodynamic therapy (PDT) and cell imaging applications. NP-g-CN particles were prepared through an intercalation process using a rod-like melamine-cyanuric acid adduct (MCA) as the molecular precursor and a eutectic mixture of LiCl-KCl (45:55 wt%) as the reaction medium for polycondensation. The nano-dimensional NP-g-CN penetrated the malignant tumor cells with minimal hindrance and effectively generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) under visible light irradiation, which could ablate cancer cells. When excited by visible light irradiation (<I>λ</I> > 420 nm), NP-g-CN introduced to HeLa and cos-7 cells generated a significant amount of ROS and killed the cancerous cells selectively. The cytotoxicity of NP-g-CN was manipulated by altering the light irradiation and the BP-g-CN caused more damage to the cancer cells than normal cells at low concentrations. As a potential non-toxic organic nanomaterial, the synthesized NP-g-CN are biocompatible with less cytotoxicity than toxic inorganic materials. The combined effects of the high efficacy of ROS generation under visible light irradiation, low toxicity, and bio-compatibility highlight the potential of NP-g-CN for PDT and imaging without further modification.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> NP-g-CN are metal free non-toxic organic matter. </LI> <LI> Bulk-g-CN are breakdown into uniform NP-g-CN through intercalation of LiCl. </LI> <LI> NP-g-CN has high efficacy to generate ROS under visible light irradiation </LI> <LI> NP-g-CN is biocompatible, selectively kills cancer cells and less toxic to normal cells. </LI> <LI> Being organic, NP-g-CN avoids the potential toxicity from heavy metal in humans. </LI> <LI> NP-g-CN can be used for both photodynamic therapy (PDT) and imaging applications. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
