<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We have measured π+π− and K+K− production in two-photon collisions using 87.7fb−1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the asymmetric energy e+e− collider KEKB. The cross sections are measured to high precision in the two-photon center-of-mass energy (<I>W</I>) range between 2.4GeV<W<4.1GeV and angular region |cosθ∗|<0.6. The cross section ratio σ(γγ→K+K−)/σ(γγ→π+π−) is measured to be 0.89±0.04(stat.)±0.15(syst.) in the range of 3.0GeV<W<4.1GeV, where the ratio is energy-independent. We observe a sin−4θ∗ behavior of the cross section in the same <I>W</I> range. Production of χc0 and χc2 mesons is observed in both γγ→π+π− and γγ→K+K− modes.</P>

The receiving revel of mobile satellite communication using the communication and broadcasting engineering test satellite(COMETS) was found to a deep fading characteristic when the satellite elevation angle was between 78 and 81 degrees. We conducted a detailed field study on high satellite elevation angle propagation on 2GHz and 2.5GHz bands in urban area there are many high buildings. We measured the receiving level of uplink/downlink transmissions between pseudo-satellite equipment and pseudo-terminal equipment (on-board antenna included). The equipment was set so that the satellite elevation angle from the horizontal was between 70 and 88 degrees. The results showed that left handed circular polarization (LHCP) receiving levels had a characteristic deep fading of 20-30dB due to the signal being reflected off a wall. When the terminal equipment moves near the building wall, we report on the result of review of the validity of the proposed high satellite elevation angle wall reflection model by the analytical result of the receiving level variations.

P/M enables the economical production of components for many kinds of gears. Functionally, the sub gear requires high tooth accuracy and bending fatigue strength. The whole tooth profile was sized after sintering to satisfy the gear tooth accuracy specification. The part was redesigned to reduce machining requirements. The required bending fatigue strength was achieved through appropriate material choice and induction of compressive residual stress by shotpeening after carburizing. The P/M sub gear replaced a forged steel gear, satisfied performance requirements, expanded the use of P/M applications and provided over 30% cost reduction.
