엔진소음은 내연기관에서 중요한 관심사중의 하나이다.<br/> 본 연구는 연소소음에 주요한 영향을 미치는 실린더 압력변동에 있어서 주파수 성분의 일반적 특성을 밝혔다. <br/> 각기 다른 연소거동과 그들의 주파수성분 분석을 위한 실린더 압력변동의 계산방법을 모색하였다. <br/> 주파수 성분은 4종류의 변수, 즉 실린더 압력볒동의 4종류 특성치를 갖는 선형 연소함수에 의하여 근사적으로 기술될 수 있음을 밝혔다. <br/> 마지막으로 4 종류의 변수의 상관관계는 연소거동이나 엔진운전조건에 관계없이 단지 엔진회전수의 차수(Order)에만 의존함을 밝혔다.

<P>Some xanthine analogues, including 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine (caffeine) and 1,3-dimethylxanthine (theophylline), have been shown to exert anticancer activities in both cell culture and animal models. The present study focused on the relationship of structure and activity of 50 different caffeine analogues in preventing epidermal growth factor (EGF)-induced malignant transformation of mouse epidermal JB6 promotion-sensitive (P+) Cl41 (JB6 P+) cells. Results indicated that the inhibition of cell transformation by the 1,3,7-trialkylxanthines depends on the number of carbons at the alkyl groups R1 and R3, but not R7. Notably, 1-ethyl-3-hexylxanthine (xanthine 70) was the most effective compound for inhibiting EGF-induced neoplastic transformation among the 50 xanthine analogues tested. The 50% inhibition of cell transformation (ICT(50)) value for xanthine 70 was 48- or 75-fold less than the ICT(50) value of caffeine or theophylline, respectively. Further study revealed that xanthine 70 (5-40 muM) dose dependently inhibited EGF-induced transactivation of activator protein 1 (AP-1), whereas theophylline or caffeine (up to 500 muM) had no effect on AP-1 activity. In addition, xanthine 70 (10 muM) inhibited 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate- or H-Ras-induced neoplastic transformation in JB6 P+ cells by 78.2 or 62.0%, respectively. Collectively, these results indicated that the number of carbons at R1 and R3 is important for the antitumor-promoting activity of the trialkylxanthines and xanthine 70 might be a promising anticancer agent.</P>
Persistence of perorally inoculated entomopoxvirus spindles in the midgut of Bombyx mori larvae

Peroral inoculation of entomopoxvirus (EV) spindles, microstructures composed of the protein fusolin, enhances the infectivity of some insect viruses by disrupting the physical barrier against microbe infection, the peritrophic matrix, in the insect midgut. Here, we examined the temporal persistence of spindles of Anomala cuprea EV (ACEV) that infect Coleopteran species in Bombyx mori larva midgut because spindle solubility over time in the midgut is closely associated with the degree of the enhancement of microbe infectivity by fusolin. A number of ACEV spindles fed to B. mori larvae were retained in the digestive systems even 20 h after the completion of feeding spindles, and a number of spindles were found to be excreted still almost intact in feces under a light microscope. In an in vitro experiment, most ACEV spindles remained intact in B. mori midgut juice 1 h after the start of incubation and some of spindles appeared even overnight in contrast to Bombyx mori nucleoplyhedrovirus polyhedra, which were immediately dissolved in midgut juice. These results suggest spindles are not generally dissolved readily in the midgut of many insects. The difficulty in solubility of ACEV spindles is considered to be mainly due to that fusolin contains many cysteine residues that form a 3D network of disulfide bonds between fusolin dimers. To use spindles at a low cost as additives in microbial insecticides, increasing the solubility of spindles by protein engineering is important to utilize full spindles inoculated.

We have been performing daily VLBI monitoring of the flux density of Sagittarius (Sgr) $A^{\ast}$ at 22 GHz from February 2013 to August 2014 using a sub-array of the Japanese VLBI Network (JVN). The purpose of this monitoring is to explore the flux density variability at daily time resolution for a period longer than one year with the G2 cloud approaching. The flux density of Sgr $A^{\ast}$ is basically stable during the observational period, though there are some small variations. The average and scattering range are consistent with the previously observed values. We have observed no strong flare of Sgr $A^{\ast}$ although it is near the expected peri-center passing.
