Distributed Fronthaul-Constrained Joint Transmission Design and Selection Using Augmented Consensus-based Dual Decomposition

Mykola Servetnyk,Carrson C. Fung 한국통신학회 2022 Journal of communications and networks Vol.24 No.4

User-centric coordinated multipoint (CoMP) joint transmission (JT) is a novel technique to manage interference and enhance system performance with single frequency reuse, where user equipment (UE) communicates with their closest transmission points (TPs). Unfortunately, in coherent JT, requirement of strict network synchronization accuracy makes it difficult and expensive to be practically deployed. The noncoherent JT has therefore received growing attention since it requires less strict network synchronization accuracy compared to its coherent counterpart as it does not require the signal to be phase-aligned at the receiver. Moreover, cell-free massive MIMO, which is regarded as combining CoMP with massive MIMO systems, has recently been touted as a solution for avoiding intercell interference and provide uniform coverage over a large area. However, the operational costs of CoMP, such as the associated control signaling and communication overhead and the increase of network complexity, could prevent the practical implementation of CoMP. A distributed joint transmission CoMP (JT-CoMP) scheme is proposed herein that allows distributed design and selection of cooperating transmission nodes. To maximize user capacity, the proposed distributed consensus optimization problem assumes spectrum underlay transmission is used so that the solution can achieve non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) for cell-free user centric JT-CoMP systems. The proposed algorithm is different from others in the literature because it solves a design problem that involves a coupling constraint that no existing algorithm can solve. Analytical results based on spectral graph theory are given to prove its convergence and characterize its rate of convergence. The more practical scenario is further considered, where limited fronthaul capacity is also included in the problem. A successive convex approximation (SCA) method is used to solve the resulting nonconvex problem, which is shown to maximize spectral efficiency. Simulation results are provided to show that the performance of both proposed distributed algorithms (that address problem without and with fronthaul constraint) is comparable to its centralized counterpart.

      • Information Politics of Ukraine in the Field of Freedom of Conscience in a Pandemic

        Mykola, Palinchak,Dobrodum, Olga,Khrypko, Svitlana,Gold, Olga,Ostashchuk, Ivan,Vlasenko, Inna,Lobanchuk, Olena International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.11

In today's era of digital technologies, the problem of religious communication in the cyberspace is being actualized, since the globality and accessibility of the WWW makes it one of the most effective and promising channels for transmitting various kinds of messages, including those of a religious nature. Today, religious organizations and movements pay the closest attention to the virtual media space, not only using it to attract new followers, but also for religious PR, image-making and branding, informing the world about themselves through news from the life of the organization and its followers. An equally important form of electronic communication in the online sphere is currently the interaction of various religious movements and religious cultures in general, or the dialogue of confessions in particular. Research in the digital space makes it possible to identify important trends in religious spheres based on the analysis of the flow of information on the Internet, to demonstrate the specifics of individual media outlets and the consequences of their activities for interreligious dialogue, to study the role of the Internet in changing religious beliefs, the possibility of changing religious identity, retrospective development of religious enlightenment at the turn of the century, to determine the vectors of possible interreligious interaction and discuss the role of digital technologies in the work of religious structures, to state the need to continue an active dialogue between representatives of religious movements, to hold expert seminars on interreligious dialogue on a regular basis, and to record the risks generated by the digital space. Thus, the coronavirus pandemic served as a background and context, a litmus test and a catalyst for accelerating and intensifying interreligious, interfaith dialogue and dialogue between religious organizations and society.

      • Increasing the efficiency of real-time content delivery by improving the technology of priority assignment and processing of IP traffic

        Mykola Beshley,Marian Seliuchenko,Orest Lavriv,Volodymyr Chervenets,Halyna Kholiavka,Mykhailo Klymash 한국산학기술학회 2015 SmartCR Vol.5 No.2

The method of dynamic prioritization of real-time multimedia flows is proposed. This method stabilizes the delay of packet processing when transmitting real-time flows in cases of network devices overload. As the result, the jitter of the flow can be significantly decreased. Moreover, decreasing the delay of packets processing allows to use the preserved time for more intelligent encryption algorithms that are usually very time-consuming. Based on the proposed prioritization method the algorithm of processing of high priority real-time flows that suffer from high delay has been developed in this paper. The algorithm is able to establish how long the specific packet has been transmitting through the network and determine the way to process it as fast as possible if the packets delay has exceeded a critical value. The proposed method and algorithm form a basis for ensuring quality of service in transport networks of long-distance class that require high level scalability and quality of service. This features are especially important when organizing networks of civil and military purposes including wireless broadband access networks. The proposed method becomes especially effective under the conditions of high incoming load on the communication core of the network since even small reduction of real time packets delay significantly increases quality of service. In case of special purpose networks, the developed algorithm allows to stabilize the delay and significantly decrease jitter which are a crucial factor when ensuring promptness of network reaction on the crisis situation.

Concrete and Reinforced Concrete Elements Strengthened with HPFRCC

Mykolas Daugevičius,Juozas Valivonis 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.8

The study analyses the behaviour of concrete and reinforced concrete columns strengthened with a High-performance FiberreinforcedCementitious Concrete (HPFRCC) jacket. For that purpose, experimental and nonlinear numerical analysis wasaccomplished. The development of deformations was divided into separate stages at each of which the behaviour of differentmaterials was highlighted. Consequently, an analytical approach to load carrying capacity was proposed. The approach evaluates theelastic, elasto-plastic and pure plastic behaviour of a separate material. According to the proposed method, a possibility of predictingthe stiffness of the strengthened element at the desired load level can be considered. The experimental results of all tested columnswere compared with numerical results. A comparison of experimentally and numerically predicted deformations showed goodcoincidence only up to a particular load level. When the decomposition such us cracking of the material starts, inappropriatecoincidence can be noticed.

      • Improvement of inspection system for common crossings by track side monitoring and prognostics

        Sysyn, Mykola,Nabochenko, Olga,Kovalchuk, Vitalii,Gruen, Dimitri,Pentsak, Andriy Techno-Press 2019 Structural monitoring and maintenance Vol.6 No.3

Scheduled inspections of common crossings are one of the main cost drivers of railway maintenance. Prognostics and health management (PHM) approach and modern monitoring means offer many possibilities in the optimization of inspections and maintenance. The present paper deals with data driven prognosis of the common crossing remaining useful life (RUL) that is based on an inertial monitoring system. The problem of scheduled inspections system for common crossings is outlined and analysed. The proposed analysis of inertial signals with the maximal overlap discrete wavelet packet transform (MODWPT) and Shannon entropy (SE) estimates enable to extract the spectral features. The relevant features for the acceleration components are selected with application of Lasso (Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) regularization. The features are fused with time domain information about the longitudinal position of wheels impact and train velocities by multivariate regression. The fused structural health (SH) indicator has a significant correlation to the lifetime of crossing. The RUL prognosis is performed on the linear degradation stochastic model with recursive Bayesian update. Prognosis testing metrics show the promising results for common crossing inspection scheduling improvement.

        Sadovyi, Mykola,Terenko, Olena,Filimonova, Tetiana,Malanchuk, Serhii,Vovkochyn, Lyudmyla,Paslawska, Alla,Oros, Ildiko International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.7

Building Ukraine as an independent, sovereign state requires the education of a citizen-patriot, able to live and work in a democracy, ensure the unity of Ukraine, feel constant responsibility for themselves, their people, country, seek to make a real contribution to the reform process. Modern modernization of the education system requires the search for new information and communication technologies that can ensure the formation of a citizen with an active civic position, which involves not only students mastering the rights and responsibilities of citizens, convincing them of the feasibility of democratic transformation of society, patriotic qualities and feelings, but also the identification of motivated civic actions. The pandemic and hostilities have led to significant changes in the field of education around the world, they have caused educational problems in Ukraine. At the beginning of the quarantine in the spring of 2020, all educational institutions in the emergency mode switched to distance learning. Intensive use of information and communication technologies in the life of modern society has led to a rethinking of the content of education and training of future professionals: the main role is played not so much by the information itself as the ability to work with it, critically comprehend and produce new knowledge; the main thing is not the amount of information, but its quality; information is needed for further practical application and transformation into knowledge, and the ability to work with information becomes one of the important competencies of the modern specialist in the new transformation of society: from information to the knowledge society. In this context, one of the main forms of training is distance learning, which is able to respond to the challenges of society. The main methodological positions that are taken into account in the construction of the structure and dynamics of the formation of civic responsibility of the individual during the use of information and communication technologies are highlighted. The structure of civil responsibility as a holistic system of information and communication technologies is outlined, which includes three subsystems that characterize the natural, social and systemic qualities of citizenship, interconnected hierarchically and synergistically. The constituent elements of the structural part of the model of civic culture of the individual are analyzed.
