Optimization of Finite Element Retina by GA for Plant Growth Neuro Modeling

The development of bio-response feedback control system known as the speaking plant approach has been a challenging task for plant production engineers and scientists. In order to achieve the aim of developing such a bio-response feedback control system, the primary concern should be to develop a practical non-invasive technique for monitoring plant growth. Those who are skilled in raising plants can sense whether their plants are under adequate water conditions or not, for example, by merely observing minor color and tone changes before the plants wilt. Consequently, using machine vision, it may be possible to recognize changes in indices that describe plant conditions based on the appearance of growing plants. The interpretation of image information of plants may be based on image features extracted from the original pictorial image. In this study, the performance of a finite element retina was optimized by a genetic algorithm. The optimized finite element retina was evaluated based on the performance of neural plant growth monitor that requires input data given by the finite element retina.
Constitutive Relations of Thin-Walled Members for Impact Collapse

This study develops impact collapse problem of thin-walled members as follows: 1) A visco-plastic constitutive equation was expressed for characteristics after collapse of local buckling. 2) Experiments of impact collapse were done under eccentric compression load for square tubes. 3) Using the experimental data, the constitutive equation was shown to be practically useful.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Cooperation among self-interested players in a social dilemma is fragile and easily interrupted by mistakes. In this work, we study the repeated <I>n</I>-person public-goods game and search for a strategy that forms a cooperative Nash equilibrium in the presence of implementation error with a guarantee that the resulting payoff will be no less than any of the co-players’. By enumerating strategic possibilities for n = 3 , we show that such a strategy indeed exists when its memory length <I>m</I> equals three. It means that a deterministic strategy can be publicly employed to stabilize cooperation against error with avoiding the risk of being exploited. We furthermore show that, for general <I>n</I>-person public-goods game, <I>m</I> ≥ <I>n</I> is necessary to satisfy the above criteria.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We propose strategies to stabilize cooperation in the iterated public-goods game. </LI> <LI> They can recover cooperation in the presence of implementation error. </LI> <LI> They are secured from repeated exploitation. </LI> <LI> They suppress neutral drift to unconditional cooperation. </LI> <LI> For an <I>n</I>-person case, the memory length of such strategies cannot be less than <I>n</I>. </LI> </UL> </P>
An Research Framework of Tacit Knowledge Transfer and Educational Practice in Global Hotel Chains

The main part of this study aims to derive some hypothsis, and particulary to extract some variables that positively or negatively influence promoting the transfer of tacit knowledge in global hotel chains. This research also surveyed the practical method to promote the transfer of tacit knowledge initiatives using JAL hotel chains as a case study. Firstly, we surveyed previous studies related to business administration, especially hotel management, and developed a research analysis framework related to recepient of knowledge. Secondly, we investigated cases where the tacit knowledge for service is formalized to be transferred globally in hotel operations. Global hotel chains need to develop the management philosophy and code of conduct and transfer them in ways acceptable to local service staff. In this context, multinational staff members announce at international conferences that actions based on a common business philosophy lead to significant performances. This study aims to further modify and examine the hypothesis of previous our researches(Murase, 2017; 2020 ) . The challenges for future studies are to refine the five hypotheses and to verify the consistency between our research flamework and case study.
High Energy Neutrino Burst under the Internal Shock Model of Gamma-ray Bursts

We calculate the proton cooling e±ciency including pion-multiplicity, and proton-inelasticity in photomeson production under the internal shock model of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) by using the simulation kit GEANT4. We con.rm the validity of analytic approximate treatments based on GRB .ducial parameter sets, but also .nd that the eects of multiplicity and high inelasticity can be important for both proton cooling and the resulting spectra in some cases. We can estimate the maximum energy of accelerated protons in GRBs by considering various cooling processes. Using the obtained results, we can evaluate the neutrino °ux from one burst and a diuse neutrino background more quantitatively than past works. We assume that the GRB rate traces the star formation rate to obtain the diuse neutrino background. We also take into account the cooling processes of pions and muons, which are crucial to the resulting neutrino spectra. We introduce the nonthermal baryon-loading factor, rather than assume that GRBs are the main sources of ultra-high-enegy-cosmic-rays (UHECRs). We .nd that the obtained neutrino background can be comparable with the prediction of Waxman & Bahcall, although our ground in the estimation is dierent from theirs. This means su±cient photon density and accelerated protons may lead to the higher neutrino °ux, which may be di±cult to achieve. We study various parameters because there are many parameters in the model. The detection of high energy neutrinos from GRBs will provide a piece of strong evidences that protons are accelerated to very high energy in GRBs. Furthermore, the observations of a neutrino background has a possibility for not only testing the internal shock model of GRBs but also giving us infor- mation about the parameters in the model and about whether GRBs are sources of UHECRs or not.G
