Implementation of AR Remote Rendering Techniques for Real-time Volumetric 3D Video

Recently, with the growth of mixed reality industrial infrastructure, relevant convergence research has been proposed. For real-time mixed reality services such as remote video conferencing, the research on real-time acquisition-process-transfer methods is required. This paper aims to implement an AR remote rendering method of volumetric 3D video data. We have proposed and implemented two modules; one, the parsing module of the volumetric 3D video to a game engine, and two, the server rendering module. The result of the experiment showed that the volumetric 3D video sequence data of about 15 MB was compressed by 6-7%. The remote module was streamed at 27 fps at a 1200 by 1200 resolution. The results of this paper are expected to be applied to an AR cloud service.
A Compact Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna for LTE Mobile Handset Applications

<P>A compact (8 × 62 × 5 mm<SUP>3</SUP>; 2.48 cc) frequency reconfigurable antenna that uses electrical switching with PIN diodes is proposed for the low frequency LTE band (699 MHz–862 MHz), high frequency LTE band (2496 MHz–2690 MHz), GSM850/900 bands (824 MHz–960 MHz), and DCS/PCS/WCDMA bands (1710 MHz–2170 MHz). The penta-band PIFA is first designed for GSM850/900/DCS/PCS/WCDMA bands by using two slits and ground pins within a limited antenna volume (8 × 54.6 × 5 mm<SUP>3</SUP>; 2.18 cc). The frequency reconfigurable antenna based on this penta-band PIFA is thus proposed to additionally cover all LTE bands. The proposed antenna has two PIN diodes with an optimal location. For State 1 (PIN diode 1: ON state, PIN diode 2: OFF state), the proposed antenna covers the low frequency LTE band, DCS/PCS/WCDMA bands, and high frequency LTE band. For State 2 (PIN diode 1: OFF state, PIN diode 2: ON state), the antenna covers the GSM850/900 bands. Simulated and measured results show that the total efficiency of the proposed antenna was greater than 40% for all operating frequency bands.</P>

Optimal processing and system to produce the laser welded tube for hydroforming bumper beam are studied. The calculated size of tube is a thickness of 1 .4㎜ , diameter of 105.4㎜ and length of 2000㎜. The tube is shaped from cool rolled high strength steel sheet(tensile strength: 60kgf/㎟ grade). 3 roll bending process, multi-step continuous roll forming method are studied and compared with 2 roll bending method. Weld quality monitoring and seam tracking along the butt-joint lengthwise to the tube axis are also studied. The longitudinal butt-joint is welded by the CO₂ laser welding system equipped with a seam tracker and plasma sensor. The constructed CO₂ laser tube welding system can be used for the precision seam tracking and the real-time monitoring of weld quality. The obtained laser welded tubes were made an investigation by microscopic examination and simplified hydroforming test. Finally, the laser welded tubes are going to make automobile bumper beam.<br/>

This study deals with the crashworthiness of aluminum crash box for an auto-body with the various types of cross section. For the aluminum alloy, the dynamic tensile test was carried out to apply for crash analysis at the range of strain rate from 0.003 to 200/sec. The crash analysis was carried out for three cross sections of rectangle, hexagon and octagon. The analysis result shows that the octagon cross section shape has higher crashworthiness than other cross section shapes. Effect of shape of rib in the cross section is important factor in crash analysis. Face-to-face rib shows higher specific energy absorption and lower peak load than edge-to-edge rib. The energy absorption and load are affected by the inclined angle of rigid wallin crash analysis. As inclined angle increases, peak load decreases and face-to-face rib shows high crashworthiness.

The use of light-weight material as aluminum has been being demanded gradually because the weight lightening of vehicles is excellent in fuel efficiency improvement and the driving performance improvement. In advanced automobile company overseas, Self Piercing Rivet technology that applies to the aluminum and Dissimilar materials, but there are little application cases in domestic market that are only rely on overseas technology skills. Therefore, I optimized design and made Prototype by Self Piercing Rivet technology with FEM Analysis through this research and verified the possibility of mass production for the Confidence Verification of Self Piercing Rivet technology by Strength and Fatigue Life and Corrosion Evaluation.

Resistance spot welding has been widely used in the sheet metal joining processes because of its high productivity and convenience. Recently automobile industries are trying to replace partly aluminum alloy sheets. Among currently produced aluminum alloys, Al alloy sheet of Al-Mg (5000 series) are being tested. Despite the lower fusion temperature of aluminum, more energy is needed for aluminum welding than for welding steel. Delta spot welding machine used process tape. Process tape has many functions. Contaminant sticks to the tape, not to the electrode protection from coatings (e.g. anti-corrosion primer) and pick-up of base material (e.g. Al). In this paper, we suggest the lobe curve for Al5182 with 2.0t, 1.6t and 1.4t using delta spot welding machine. The lobe curves which could expressed weldablity. There were three combinations for same sheet which were Al5182 2.0t, 1.6t and 1.4t. The trend of low boundary and high boundary variation of lobe curve were analyzed with a viewpoint of the contact resistance and the heat input.
