A single trait linear mixed random regression test-day model was applied for the first time for analyzing the first lactation monthly test-day milk yield records in Karan Fries cattle. The test-day milk yield data was modeled using a random regression model (RRM) considering different order of Legendre polynomial for the additive genetic effect (4th order) and the permanent environmental effect (5th order). Data pertaining to 1,583 lactation records spread over a period of 30 years were recorded and analyzed in the study. The variance component, heritability and genetic correlations among test-day milk yields were estimated using RRM. RRM heritability estimates of test-day milk yield varied from 0.11 to 0.22 in different test-day records. The estimates of genetic correlations between different test-day milk yields ranged 0.01 (test-day 1 [TD-1] and TD-11) to 0.99 (TD-4 and TD-5). The magnitudes of genetic correlations between test-day milk yields decreased as the interval between test-days increased and adjacent test-day had higher correlations. Additive genetic and permanent environment variances were higher for test-day milk yields at both ends of lactation. The residual variance was observed to be lower than the permanent environment variance for all the test-day milk yields.

Digital signal processing (DSP) is the study of signals in a digital representation and the processing methods of these signals. A digital filter uses a digital processor to perform numerical calculations on sampled values of the signal. To achieve the desired filtering effect, Digital filters can achieve virtually any filtering effect that can be expressed as a mathematical function or algorithm. In this paper, we have filtered the EMG signals using FIR low pass filter and then amplified the filtered samples of EMG, using multiplication process through a program written in C language. For the purpose of designing the required FIR filter, first the coefficients of the filter are determined. MATLAB program has been used to determine the coefficients of the desired FIR filter by using the filter designing tool box of MATLAB. These coefficients reveal the characteristics of the desired filter. Although the frequency response characteristics possess by ideal filter may be desirable, they are not absolutely necessary in most practical applications if we relax these conditions, it is possible to realize causal filters that approximate ideal filters as closely as we desired. In this paper, we developed a digital FIR low pass filter having the cutoff frequency 120㎐ applicable on very small voltage signal like EMG. The faithful amplification is also been achieved through the digital amplification process. From our result studies, we observe that the proposed method is highly effective & efficient for EMG signal.

Background: COPD is a very common and major cause of mortality in India. Therapeutic medicine, stop smoking, oxygen and pulmonary rehabilitation are used in the management of COPD. Early signs of an intensification of COPD in patient monitoring and providing therapy at a right time could avert these consequences. Now a days, wearable smart watches allows health related information, heart rate monitoring and detection features related to lungs diseases. In this study, we tested a feasibility study to investigate the possible utilization of wearable smartwatch to assess that patient wear and retain the devices consistently and smartwatches collect and transmit data sensor reliably. Methods: About 25 patient with COPD were participated in the present study for the full 60 days. Smartwatch and phones of different reputed company were used for the current study. Wearable devices were provided to each patient and heart rate, physical activity, acceleration, questionnaire study and audio recording were collected. Patient were advised to wear and charge the smart watch daily. All the patients with COPD were motivated to use the wearable device regularly. Results: Among 25 patients with COPD, 20 patient participated, regularly use the watches and completed the study. Heart rate and data of accelerometer were determine from the devices directly. Secondary results such as questionnaire survey, heart rate, physical activity were provided with an average days of 60.2, 61.3 and 58.2 respectively. Patient are requested to fill the feedback on the wearable smart watch devices related to the secondary function of theses watches and how the system could be amended and manage their COPD. Conclusions: We speculated that participant with COPD continuously wear and used the wearable system and provide a positive feedback for these technology. More research work is needed to enhance its suitability and additional training to improve the experience of patient.

Pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a severe form of lung diseases, collagen deposition takes place on the alveoli walls in the pulmonary interstitium. Presently, all available remedies used in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is not so fruitful and have a lots of side effects. Traditional plants are a rich source of chemical compounds, and plant isolated compound can be used as an alternative therapeutic agent. Literature accounted the prophylactic and curative impact of naringenin, a plant derived foods, against cell destruction which is produced by oxygen radicals. The current study aimed to scrutinize the protective effect and antioxidant activity of naringenin, a polyphenolic compound, against paraquat (PQT) induced pulmonary fibrosis in animal model. Methods: All the wistar rats were randomly assigned into five experimental groups (Control, paraquat alone, paraquat + naringenin 20, paraquat + naringenin 40, paraquat+ naringenin 80). A single dose of paraquat (50 mg/kg p.o.) were administered orally for 21 days via tracheal cannula to all rats except control groups. Rats were sacrificed to determine the proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL- 6, TGF-β1 consider as main pro-fibrotic mediator in tissue of lung.). Hydroxyproline level, and malondialdehyde (MDA), Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) content were also analysed. Histopathogical study of lung tissue were also done. Results: Result suggested that the content of proinflammatory cytokines, MDA and hydroxyproline were upregulated, SOD and GPx levels were downregulated by toxic drugs paraquat. Although, oral administration of tested drugs naringenin significantly upturned all biochemical parameter with a dose dependent manner. Histopathological alteration also supported the outcomes which was induced by PQT. Conclusions: It was speculated from the study that polyphenolic compounds, naringenin possess antioxidant properties, mitigates oxidative stress and fibrosis which was induced by PQT. Therefore, it acts as an adjuvant therapy and a potential compound for pulmonary fibrosis.
