      • 濟州島 沿岸에 있어서 갈치채낚이 漁船의 水中騷音

        濟州道 北東海域인 33 40 N, 126 49 E를 中心으로 5海里 이내의 갈치 채낚이 漁場에서 5隻의 小型漁船에 대한 水中騷音을 測定 分析한 結果는 다음과 같다. 1. 漁船의 모든 機關을 停止하였을 때 測定海域의 操業水深 30m와 50m에서의 水中騷音의 音壓潗位는 周波數 200㎐에서 각각 46.4㏈, 43.6㏈, 500㎐에서 각각 39.7㏈, 37.1㏈이었다. 2. 發電機만을 稼動하여 集魚된 後의 操業水深 30m와 50m에서의 水中騷音의 音壓潗位는 周波數 200㎐때에 C漁船에서 각각 71.3㏈, 72.3㏈, D漁船에서 각각 75.1㏈, 78.2㏈, 周波數 500㎐때에 C漁船에서 각각 63.5㏈, 64.2㏈, D漁船에서 각각 62.5㏈, 65.5㏈이었다. 3. 漁船의 發電機만을 稼動하여 集魚된 後 操業중인 때의 갈치魚群이 集魚된 水深 50m의 音壓潗位가 水深 30m의 것보다 01.㏈ 3.1㏈가 높았는데 이는 魚群探知機에 集魚된 魚群의 映像과 比較하여 본 結果 集魚된 魚群이 있었던 것으로 推定된다.

      • Alcohol 및 Caffeine이 Tetracycline의 血中濃度의 미치는 影響

        Washed human blood cells with tetracycline alone, tetracycline and alcohol or tetracycline and caffeine were incubated at 37±2℃. In the incubated tetracycline with washed blood cells, tetracycline was repidly taken up about 45% by the washed blood cells within about 10 minutes. However, in the case of tetracycline and alcohol group, tetracycline was taken up more than 45% and in the tetracycline and caffeine group, tetracycline was taken up less than 38%. It is suggested that alcohol promoted absorption of tetracycline into washed blood cells and that caffeine inhibited absorption of tetracycline.

      • Potato Pulluanase의 정제와 특성

        These experiments were conducted to investigate the purification and some characteristics of potato pullulanse. 1. The crude enzyme was purified by acetic acid fractionation, 20% ethanol fractionation, ammonium sulfate fractionation and DEAE-cellulose column chromatography. The specific activity of the purified enzyme was 0.0726U/mg. protein and yield of enzyme activity was 26.1%. 2. The relative mobility of the purified enzyme on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was 0.62. 3. In the early stage of reaction, maltotriose and small amounts of oligosaccharides(hexa-, norna-, and dodecasaccharide) were detected. However, in the later stage of reaction, only maltotriose was detected. 4. The optimum temperature, the optimum pH, the stable pH range and the stable temperature of the purified enzyme were 50℃, pH 6.5, pH 4.5-8.5 and below 40℃, respectively. 5. The purified enzyme was greatly inhibited by Ag+ and Hg2+ 6. The purified enzyme hydrolyzed pullulan almost completely, whereas it hydrolyzed amylopectin and soluble starch weakly.

      • 무기력(Helplessness) 개념 분석:혼종 모형(Hybrid Model) 적용

        The concept of helplessness was analyzed with Hybrid model. Hybrid model is consisted of 3 phases: the theoretical, the field, and the analytical phase. In the theoretical phase, the nature or definition, antecedents and results of the helpessness were identified. The helplessness was defined as 'the perception of uncontrollable outcome'. That perception was formed from 'the repeated experience of the response-outcome independence', 'the instruction specifying the nature of the task or problem', and 'individual difference'. And the helplessness resulted in 'emotional deficit', 'performance deficit' and 'functional disability'. In the field phase, four patients with chronic renal disease were interviewed. They were all treating by hemodialysis. And they all perceived that their disease was uncontrollable. The interview data were analyzed with theoretical coding. All of them show the external, stable, and global helplessness. In the analytical phase the antecedent was identified as 'the instruction specifying the nature of task or problem' & 'the repeated experience of response-outcome independence'. And most of them are helpless due to the 'the instruction specifying the nature of the task or problem'. As the result of the helpessness, 'negative affect', 'non-compliance', 'passive compliance', 'functional disability' and 'social isolation' were identified. The performance deficit is distinctively divided by 'non-compliance' and 'passive compliance'. So the performance deficit is changed to 'non- compliance' and 'passive compliance'. It is proved that the hybrid model was appropriate for the concept analysis especially in case that the subjects are different in the theory developing that concept. And these results could be applied as the theoretical framework for the research and the nursing intervention.

        Extended use of Prostate Health Index and percentage of [-2]pro-prostate-specific antigen in Chinese men with prostate specific antigen 10–20 ng/mL and normal digital rectal examination

        Purpose: We investigated the extended use of Prostate Health Index (PHI) and percentage of [-2]pro-prostate-specific antigen (%p2PSA) in Chinese men with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) 10–20 ng/mL and normal digital rectal examination (DRE). Materials and Methods: All consecutive Chinese men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE who agreed for transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided 10-core prostate biopsy were recruited. Blood samples were taken immediately before TRUS-guided prostate biopsy. The performances of total PSA (tPSA), %free-to-total PSA (%fPSA), %p2PSA, and PHI were compared using logistic regression, receiver operating characteristic, and decision curve analyses (DCA). Results: From 2008 to 2015, 312 consecutive Chinese men were included. Among them, 53 out of 312 (17.0%) men were diagnosed to have prostate cancer on biopsy. The proportions of men with positive biopsies were 6.7% in PHI<35, 22.8% in PHI 35–55, and 54.5% in PHI>55 (chi-square test, p<0.001). The area under curves (AUC) of the base model including age, tPSA and status of initial/repeated biopsy was 0.64. Adding %p2PSA and PHI to the base model improved the AUC to 0.79 (p<0.001) and 0.78 (p<0.001), respectively, and provided net clinical benefit in DCA. The positive biopsy rates of Gleason 7 or above prostate cancers were 2.2% for PHI<35, 7.9% for PHI 35–55, and 36.4% for PHI>55 (chi-square test, p<0.001). By utilizing the PHI cutoff of 35 to men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE, 57.1% (178 of 312) biopsies could be avoided. Conclusions: Both PHI and %p2PSA performed well in predicting prostate cancer and high grade prostate cancer. The use of PHI and %p2PSA should be extended to Chinese men with PSA 10–20 ng/mL and normal DRE.

        Evaluating the Prediction of Breast Cancer Survival Using Lymph Node Ratio

        Purpose: Previous oncological studies showed that lymph node ratio (LNR) (ratio of number of lymph nodes that tested positive for metastasis to the total number of lymph nodes examined) is a negative indicator of cancer survival. The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system incorporates tumor size, lymph node involvement, and metastasis in a comprehensive model of cancer progression, but LNR alone has been shown to outperform the AJCC system in prognostic and survival predictions for various types of cancer. The effectiveness of LNR has not been evaluated in breast cancer staging. Evaluating LNR for predicting cancer staging in breast cancer has the potential to improve treatment recommendations. Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results dataset was used to identify 10,655 breast cancer patients who underwent nodal evaluation from 2010 to 2013, and their LNRs were calculated. Descriptive statistics of lymph node evaluation in the patients are provided. Logistic regression with LNR as the continuous independent variable was conducted to determine whether LNR could predict cancer progression, coded as regional or distant. Analysis was conducted using SPSS version 24. Results: Patient’s mean age was 59.43±18.62. Logistic regression analysis revealed that for every 1.3% increase in LNR, the odds of falling into the distant stage of the TNM staging system increased by 13.7% (odds ratio, 14.73; 95% confidence interval, 12.00–18.08). Conclusion: LNR, while correlated with breast cancer staging, serves as a better predictor of survival. Precision staging can influence treatment modality, and improved treatments can significantly improve quality of life. Additional research and diagnostic examinations using LNR as a potential tool for accurate staging in breast cancer patients are warranted.

        Comparison of various image fusion methods for impervious surface classification from VNREDSat-1

        Impervious surfaces are important indicators for urban development monitoring. Accurate mapping of urban impervious surfaces with observational satellites, such as VNREDSat-1, remains challenging due to the spectral diversity not captured by an individual PAN image. In this article, five multi-resolution image fusion techniques were compared for the task of classifting urban impervious surfaces. The result shows that for VNREDSat-1 dataset, UNB and Wavelet tranformation methods are the best techniques in reserving spatial and spectral information of original MS image, respectively. However, the UNB technique gives the best results when it comes to impervious surface classification, especially in the case of shadow areas included in non-impervious surface group.
