        A Case of Retrospective Four-dimensional Computed Tomography for Gated Radiotherpy

        새로 도입된 사차원 컴퓨터 단층촬영 장치를 소개하고 기존의 CT와 비교하여 방사선치료에 있어서의 장점을 평가하고자 한다. RPM으로 측정한 호흡신호는 사차원 CT와 연동되어 저장된다. 사차원 CT 영상은 시간별로 단층촬영되며 호흡 위상별로 분류된다. 기존의 CT 영상과 사차원 CT 영상에서 각각 PTV를 그려 비교하였다. 기존 의 CT 영상에서 그린 PTV는 사차원 CT에서 그린 것에 비하여 크기가 약 2 cc 가 컷다. PTV의 선량은 사차원 CT를 이용하여 치료계획한 경우 처방선량의 99.3% 였으며, 기존의 CT를 이용한 경우는 95.2%로 유의한 차이가 났다. 두 치료계획에서 DVH를 비교한 결과 치료범위가 사차원 CT에서 3.7% 개선되었다. 사차원 CT는 방사선치료에 있어서 치료성적을 올리고 방사선 부작용을 줄일 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. To introduce the four-dimensional computed tomography (4DCT, Light Speed RT, General Electric, USA) scanner newly installed in our department and to evaluate its advantage over conventional CT for radiation therapy. Respiratory signal measured by real-time position management (RPM®, Varian Medical Systems, USA) was recorded in synchronization with the 4DCT scanner. 4DCT data were acquired in axial cine mode and sorted retrospective image based on respiratory phase. Planning target volumes (PTVs) delineated from helical CT and 4DCT images were compared. The PTV delineated from conventional helical CT images was 2 cc larger than that from 4DCT images. Dose in PTV of the plan from retrospective CT was 99.3% (minimum=72.0%, maximum=106.5%) and that of helical CT plan was 95.2% (minimum=24.1%, maximum=106.4%) of prescribed dose. The minimum doses in PTV for helical CT plan and 4DCT plan were calculated to 24.1% and 72.0% of prescribed dose, respectively. It shows that the uniformities were significantly improved by using 4CDT. Conclusion: Comparing with dose volume histograms (DVHs) of both plans, the coverage for 4CDT plan was 3.7% improved. It is expected that 4DCT could improve tumor control and reduce radiation toxicity for liver cancer in radiation therapy.

        Database for Patient Information Management in Radiation Oncology Department

        The purpose of this study is to build a database of patient information for efficient radiotherapy management. Microsoft Office Access was used to build the database owing to its convenience and compatibility. The most important aspect when building the patient database is to make the input and management of patient information efficient at every step of radiotherapy process. The information input starts from the patient's first visit to the radiation therapy department and ends upon completion of the radiotherapy. The forms for each step of radiotherapy process include the patient information form, the radiotherapy schedule form, the radiotherapy information form, the simulation order form, and the patient history form. Every form is centrically connected to the radiation oncology department's patient information form. A test revealed that the database was found to be efficient in managing patient information at each step. An important benefit of this database is improved efficiency in radiotherapy management. Information on patients who received radiotherapy is stored in a database. This means that this clinical data can be found easily and used in future, which will be helpful in research studies on the radiation oncology department. Benefits such as these will potentially contribute to improved radiotherapy quality.

        뇌병변장애인의 근로 경험에 관한 연구 –사회복지 분야에 종사하는 뇌성마비장애인을 중심으로-

        뇌병변장애인은 장애인복지법에서 정하는 15개 장애유형 중 지체장애인 다음으로 출현율이 높지만, 고용을 비롯한 사회참여는 활발하지 못하다. 그 원인으로는 중증과 중복장애의 비율이 다른 장애유형보다 높은 특성과 일반고용에서의 뇌병변장애인 적합직종의 부재가 지적되고 있다. 2000년대 들어오면서 자립생활운동의 확산과 장애인일자리사업추진으로 사회복지 분야에서 뇌병변장애인의 고용이 다소 늘어난 측면도 있으나, 그들의 역할과 근로환경에 대한 관심은 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 사회복지 분야에 종사하는 뇌병변장애인 사례를 바탕으로 조직에서의 역할, 근무환경, 근로의미는 무엇인가를 알아보고, 향후 뇌병변장애인의 고용촉진 및 사회참여 활성화를 위한 정책 대안을 논의하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 10년 이상 사회복지 분야 종사 경험이 있는 뇌병변장애인의 9명의 사례를 조사였으며, 개별심층면접을 통해 질적사례연구를 수행하였다. 분석결과 뇌병변장애인의 근로경험은 취업전후로 구분되었는데, 중분류는 6개, 소분류 범주는 13개로 나타났다. 취업 전에는 ‘차별경험’, ‘복지분야 취업기회경험’으로, 취업 후에는 ‘개인특성과 조직특성의 부조화로 인한 어려움’, ‘근로환경과 직무에 대한 적응’, ‘자립경험’, ‘고용정책 변화에 대한 요구’로 범주화되었다. 이를 바탕으로 뇌병변장애인의 근로환경 개선을 위해 공공부분 장애인일자리사업의 체계화와 특성화, 이들의 고용안정과 효율적인 직무수행을 위한 전문적인 인력 양성과 배치, 장애특성을 살릴 수 있는 직무부여, 뇌병변장애인에 대한 인식개선 및 심리상담 지원체계 등이 필요함을 논의하였다. Among the 15 types of disabilities prescribed by the Disability Welfare Act, people with brain lesions have the highest incidence after those with physical disabilities, but are not active in social participation including employment. The reasons for this are the characteristics of having a higher ratio of severe and multiple disabilities than other disability types, and the absence of suitable occupations for brain lesion disorders in general employment. In the 2000s, the spread of independence movements and the promotion of job programs for people with disabilities have led to a slight increase in the employment of people with brain lesions in the social welfare field, but interest in their roles and working environment is insufficient. Therefore, this study examines the role, working environment, and meaning of work in the organization based on the case of the brain lesion disorder in the social welfare field, and discusses policy alternatives to promote employment and social participation of the brain lesion disorder in the future. I wanted to. For this study, 9 cases of people with brain lesions with more than 10 years of experience in social welfare were surveyed, and subject word analysis was conducted through individual in-depth interviews. As a result of the analysis, the work experience of people with brain lesions was classified into before and after employment, with 6 in the middle category and 13 in the small category. The results of the middle classification are"Experience of discrimination" before employment and"Experience of employment opportunities in the welfare field", and after employment,"Difficulties due to disparity between individual and organizational characteristics","Adaptation to the working environment and job", "Experience of independence", It was categorized as a"requirement for change in employment policy". Based on this, the implications of the work experience of people with brain lesions include systematization and specialization of job programs for people with disabilities in the public sector, training and placement of professional human support for their employment stability and efficient job performance, and work that can utilize the characteristics of disabilities. It was discussed the need to assign roles, improve awareness of people with brain lesions, and prepare a psychological counseling support system.

        As an natural enemy against the Monochamus alternatus Hope and M. saltuarius Gebler (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), the vector species of the pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner & Buhrer), Dastarcus helophoroides (Fairmaire) (Coleoptera: Bothrideridae) is recognized for the first time in Korea. The family Bothrideridae is also reported for the first time in Korea. We provide the diagnosis, illustrations, biological information, and the host insects of D. helophoroides (Fairmaire).

        열전쌍마스크를 이용한 호흡모사팬톰 연구

        목 적: 호흡동기치료, 호흡조절 방사선치료 등 호흡에 관련된 치료법의 연구를 위해 열전쌍마스크(Respiration Monitoring Mask: ReMM)를 이용한 호흡모사팬톰을 개발하였다. 대상 및 방법: 호흡신호에 따라 실시간으로 움직이는 호흡모사팬톰을 제작하였다. 열전쌍으로 환자의 호흡을 측정하고, 측정된 호흡 신호와 장기의 움직임을 비교․분석하여 팬톰의 성능을 평가하였다. 환자의 호흡 측정에는 본원에서 개발한 ReMM을 사용하였으며, 호흡모사팬톰의 운동은 RPMⓇ (Real-time Position Management, Varian, USA)으로 측정하였다. 횡격막 부위의 장기 운동을 확인하기 위하여 X-선 투시기를 사용하였다. 결 과: X-선 투시영상과 RPMⓇ으로 관찰한 장기의 움직임을 ReMM으로 측정한 호흡 신호와 비교했을 경우, 각각 표준편차 9.68% 및 8.53% 이내에서 일치하였다. 호흡 신호에 따른 팬톰 운동의 오차는 호흡진폭에 대하여 표준편차 8.52%이내에서 일치하였다. 결 론: ReMM은 환자가 호흡을 하는데 불편함이 없었고, 열전쌍에서 발생되는 호흡 신호를 이용한 호흡모사 팬톰은 장기의 운동을 실시간으로 잘 모사하였다. 호흡모사팬톰은 호흡동기치료 등 다양한 치료법의 평가에 응용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. Purpose: To develop the respiration simulating phantom with thermocouple for evaluating 4D radiotherapy such as gated radiotherapy, breathing control radiotherapy and dynamic tumor tracking radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: The respiration monitoring mask (ReMM) with thermocouple was developed to monitor the patient's irregular respiration. The signal from ReMM controls the simulating phantom as organ motion of patients in real-time. The organ and the phantom motion were compared with its respiratory curves to evaluate the simulating phantom. ReMM was used to measure patients’ respiration, and the movement of simulating phantom was measured by using RPMⓇ. The fluoroscope was used to monitor the patient's diaphragm motion. Results: Comparing with the curves of respiration measured by thermocouple and those of the organ motion measured by fluoroscope and RPM, the standard deviations between the curves were 9.68% and 8.53% relative to the organ motion, respectively. The standard deviation of discrepancy between the respiratory curve and the organ motion was 8.52% of motion range. Conclusion: Patients felt comfortable with ReMM. The relationship between the signal from ReMM and the organ motion shows strong correlation. The phantom simulates the organ motion in real-time according to the respiratory signal from the ReMM. It is expected that the simulating phantom with ReMM could be used to verify the 4D radiotherapy.

      • A New Record of Xylotrechus Species (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from Korea

        Up to days, 15 species of the genus Xylotrechus, which have most diverse species among the tribe Clytini, have been recorded from Korean peninsula. The genus Xylotrechus can be distinguished from the other genera by combination of following characteristics: length of antennal socket longer than 1st segment of antenna; antennae reaches about 2/3 of elytra or less; carinae on frons well developed; 1st segment of hind tarsus 2 times longer than total length of 2nd+3rd segment; carinae on frons exceeding vertex; compound eye joined prothorax. In 2007, we collected a specimen which is belong to the genus Xylotrechus from Goyang-si, Gyeonggi province and we identified this specimen with Xylotrechus pavlovskii Plavilstshikov. Xylotrechus pavlovskii Plavilstshikov is easily distinguished from the congeneric species by following characteristics: femora black except basal half pale brown; antennal socket with yellow pubescence patch; pronotum black with distinct six yellow pubescence patches; elytra black with four pairs of yellowish linear pubescence patches except anterior 1/5 part reddish, apice blunt with inner and outer small sharpen projection. As a result of this study, we report this species for the first time from Korea with description and illustrations of diagnostic characters.

      • A new species of the genus Clytus Laicharting (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from Korea

        Up to days, 5 species belonging to the genus Clytus, one of the large genera among the tribe Clytini have been recorded from Korean peninsula. The genus Clytus can be distinguished from the other genera by combination of following characteristics: width of head between each antennal socket longer than length of scape; carinae on frons absent; 1st segment of hind-tarsus 2 times shorter than combined length of 2nd+3rd segments; hind-femora weekly swelled in middle part; posterior part of metasternum without process in ventral view. Clytus sp. nov. is most similar to C. clavicornis Reiche, an endemic species to Sicily island in Southern Italy, having thickened 5th or 6th to apical antennal segment. However, this species can be distinguished from the latter species by specific morphological characteristics. As a result of this study, we report Clytus sp. nov. as new to science with brief description and illustrations diagnostic characteristics with key to the Korean Clytus species.

        A novel one-body dual laser profile based vibration compensation in 3D scanning

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Recently, the 3D laser profile scanner has often been used for the precise measurement of 3D surface information (object surface) such as height, area, and slope. However, a difficulty encountered with the conventional laser scanning method is that it cannot compensate for the errors resulting from vibration, so the scanned object should be measured in a fixed (immobile) state. In this paper, we propose a novel dual laser profile method and its error compensation algorithm to compensate for vertical vibration, even with a moving object. In order to remove errors caused by vibration, the proposed system projects two laser profiles onto the surface, such that the projected position overlaps the one with the previous position. With the overlapped position, the height difference between the measured objects is used to calculate the vibration errors. To generate two laser profiles simultaneously, we present a novel approach for generating two laser profiles from one laser-emitting source (a one-body dual line laser using a triangular structured blazed grating reflector). By exploiting the one-body dual line laser and error compensation algorithm, the proposed 3D laser profile scanner system achieves an error reduction of about 96.3% in the root mean square error (RMSE), compared to the conventional approach.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Overlapping two laser profiles with time difference allows vibration compensation. </LI> <LI> One laser source generates two precise laser profiles using grating structure. </LI> <LI> Global compensation algorithm corrects error from superimposing two laser profiles. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Interactive Typography System using Combined Corner and Contour Detection

        Interactive Typography is a process where a user communicates by interacting with text and a moving factor. This research covers interactive typography using real-time response to a user's gesture. In order to form a language-independent system, preprocessing of entered text data presents image data. This preprocessing is followed by recognizing the image data and the setting interaction points. This is done using computer vision technology such as the Harris corner detector and contour detection. User interaction is achieved using skeleton information tracked by a depth camera. By synchronizing the user's skeleton information acquired by Kinect (a depth camera,) and the typography components (interaction points), all user gestures are linked with the typography in real time. An experiment was conducted, in both English and Korean, where users showed an 81% satisfaction level using an interactive typography system where text components showed discrete movements in accordance with the users' gestures. Through this experiment, it was possible to ascertain that sensibility varied depending on the size and the speed of the text and interactive alteration. The results show that interactive typography can potentially be an accurate communication tool, and not merely a uniform text transmission system.
