〈설국열차〉와 〈기생충〉에 나타난 계급모순의 극복방식 - 프레드릭 제임슨의 서사이론을 중심으로 -

본 연구는 현대 문화텍스트 중 봉준호 감독의 두 영화 〈설국열차〉와 〈기생충〉을 프레드릭 제임슨의 세 가지 의미론적 지평의 해석을 적용하여 해석한다. 제임슨의 세 가지 의미론적 지평의 해석은 한 시대의 문화적 텍스트에서 모순을 해결하는 방식 속에서 동시대의 정치적 무의식 속에 억압된 모순을 다시 읽어내는 해석방법이다. 본 연구는 제임슨의 텍스트 해석방식을 압축하여 소개하고, 이를 적용하여 봉준호의 두 영화 〈설국열차〉와 〈기생충〉을 해석하여 정치적 무의식을 읽어낸다. 제임슨은 자본주의가 진행되면서 문화의 전 영역에서 사물화도 함께 진행되었으며, 후기 자본주의에 이르러서는 사물화가 완성되면서 삶과 가치가 완전하게 분리되어 모순을 인식할 수 없는 상황에 이르렀다고 한다. 제임슨은 사물화를 합리화, 전문화, 파편화, 다양성, 정신분열증, 자율성, 체계화, 소외 등 현대사회의 특징으로 해석한다. 사물화의 체계는 문화 영역을 세분화하고 고립시켜서 하나의 총체적 개념으로 해석할 수 없게 하는 자본주의의 논리이다. 사물화의 결과 전 영역이 고립되어 모순을 인식하기 어려워지면 모순은 정치적 무의식 속에 억압된다. 봉준호 감독의 〈설국열차〉와 〈기생충〉은 계급갈등에 대한 현대 회의 정치적 무의식을 읽어내기 위한 좋은 예이다. 우선 등장인물에 적용된 계급의 알레고리와 두 영화에 인물들의 관계가 만들어내는 서사구조를 비교하여 봉준호 감독이 지향하는 계급의식을 탐구한다. 이를 위해 제임슨의 세 가지 지평의 의미론적 해석방식을 살펴보고 이 해석방식을 적용하여 감독이 영화를 통해 현 사회의 모순을 어떻게 해결하려 하는지를 밝힌다. 제임슨의 해석은 문화텍스트가 현대사회의 모순을 해결하는 방식 속에서 저자가 표면적으로 드러낸 주제 이면의 정치적 무의식을 읽어내기 위한 것이다. 모순을 해결하기 위해 텍스트가 봉합한 정치적 무의식을 복원하는 일은 현시대 문화의 모순을 직시하여 더 나은 미래를 설계할 수 있는 계기를 마련할 것이다. This study applies Jameson's three semantic horizons interpretation to interpret Bong Joon-ho's two films Snowpiercer and Parasite in contemporary cultural texts. By comparing the allegory of the social class applied to the characters and the narrative structure created by the relationship between the characters in the two films, we explore the class consciousness that director Bong Joon-ho is aiming for. To this end, we study Jameson's narrative theory and apply it to reveal how the director intends to solve the dilemma in the present society through the film. Restoring political unconsciousness with the text sutures to resolve the dilemma of political unconsciousness will provide an opportunity to design a better future by facing the contradictions of contemporary culture.

영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 육아자조모임 활동이 부모효능감과 행복감에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 육아종합지원센터 육아자조모임 활동이 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 부모효능감과 행복감에 미치는 효과를 객관적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 연구대상은 경기도 S시에 거주하며 육아종합지원센터의 육아자조모임 활동에 참여한 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 123명과 미참여 어머니 204명, 총 327명이다. 설문조사를 통해 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계분석, 교차분석, 상관관계분석, t-test 검증, 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA), Scheffe 사후검증을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 부모효능감과 행복감 수준은 전반적으로 양호하며 어머니의 육아자조모임 활동은 자녀 연령, 어머니 연령, 어머니의 취업유형에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 부모효능감과 행복감 수준, 육아자조모임 활동은 모든 하위요인에서 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 육아자조모임 참여 여부에 따라 어머니의 부모효능감, 행복감 전체 및 모든 하위요인에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 끝으로 육아자조모임 참여 정도에 따라 행복감은 전체 및 모든 하위요인에서, 부모효능감은 전체 및 하위요인 중 ‘학습지도능력’과 ‘건강하게 양육하는 능력’에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구는 육아종합지원센터의 육아자조모임 활동이 어머니의 부모효능감과 행복감에 미치는 효과를 객관적으로 입증하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지닌다. The purpose of this study is to objectively examine the effects of Parenting self-help activities of mothers of infants and children operating at the childcare support center on parental effectiveness and happiness. The survey targets 327 infants and children living in S-si, Gyeonggi-do (204 participants and 123 non-participants). The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program for descriptive statistical analysis, cross-analysis, correlation analysis, t-test verification, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe post-validation. The main findings are as follows: First, the mother's level of parental effectiveness and happiness are generally good, and the mother's Parenting self-help activities vary significantly depending on her child's age, mother's age, and mother's employment type. Second, the mother's parental effectiveness, level of happiness, and Parenting self-help activities were found to have a significant positive correlation in all sub-factors. Third, depending on whether mothers participated in Parenting self-help activities, there were significant differences in the mother's parental effectiveness, overall sense of happiness, and all sub-factors. Finally, depending on the degree of participation in Parenting self-help activities, happiness was significantly different in overall and all sub-factors, and parental effectiveness was significant in "learning guidance" and "healthily nurturing" among overall and sub-factors. This study is significant in that it objectively demonstrates the effect of Parenting self-help activities at the childcare support center on the mother's sense of parental effectiveness and happiness.

Analysis of Usability Evaluation for a Graphic User Interface

Objective: The present study is to establish a usability evaluation framework for graphic user interface (GUI). Background: Existing studies have mainly focused on specific GUI evaluation such as mobile applications and website; however, lacked of consideration with GUIs for a specialized field such as the military. Method: A four-step approach was applied in the study: (1) literature review of twenty studies related to usability evaluation, (2) analysis of GUI usability aspects by design component, design guideline/evaluation criterion, and evaluation method, (3) development of an integrated usability evaluation framework, and (4) application to screen GUIs of a computer based training (CBT). Results: Design component in the integrated usability evaluation framework was consisted of 40 design dimensions in 9 components (e.g., alignment in layout), design guideline/evaluation criterion 33 principles and guidelines (e.g., visibility), and evaluation method 38 measures (e.g., completion time) and 19 techniques (e.g., heuristic evaluation). Conclusion: The usability evaluation framework for GUI was developed in the study. Application: The usability evaluation framework for GUI can be applicable to a variety of GUIs (e.g., console screen) and utilized to evaluate GUIs systematically.

<P>Recently, processors have begun integrating 3D stacked DRAMs with the cores on the same package, and there have been several approaches to effectively utilizing the on-package DRAMs as caches. This article presents an approach that combines the previous approaches in a synergistic way by devising a module called the dirty-block tracker to maintain the dirtiness of each block in a dirty region. The approach avoids unnecessary tag checking for a write operation if the corresponding block in the cache is not dirty. Our simulation results show that the proposed technique achieves a 10.3% performance improvement on average over the state-of-the-art DRAM cache technique.</P>

Using Fuzzy Rating Information for Collaborative Filtering-based Recommender Systems

These days people are overwhelmed by information on the Internet thus searching for useful information becomes burdensome, often failing to acquire some in a reasonable time. Recommender systems are indispensable to fulfill such user needs through many practical commercial sites. This study proposes a novel similarity measure for user-based collaborative filtering which is a most popular technique for recommender systems. Compared to existing similarity measures, the main advantages of the suggested measure are that it takes all the ratings given by users into account for computing similarity, thus relieving the inherent data sparsity problem and that it reflects the uncertainty or vagueness of user ratings through fuzzy logic. Performance of the proposed measure is examined by conducting extensive experiments. It is found that it demonstrates superiority over previous relevant measures in terms of major quality metrics.

A Case of Wilms Tumor with a Tumor Thrombus in a Boy with WAGR Syndrome

Intravascular extension of Wilms tumor (WT) can occur in approximately 4-10% of patients. In general, it does not cause any clinical problems because most of these tumors are small. Although there is no standard treatment currently, preoperative chemotherapy and delayed nephrectomy is generally recommended for children with WT accompanied by tumor thrombus. We report a rare case of WT, aniridia, genitourinary anomalies, and mental retardation (WAGR) syndrome in a boy who also had a huge inferior vena cava thrombus, 7 cm length. The prevalence of bilateral WT and tumor thrombus in WAGR has not been identified. The patient was successfully treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy to decrease the size of the tumor thrombus with WT and delayed nephrectomy following chemotherapy without any invasive intervention and did not show complications.
