Photoelectric smoke detectors, which operate by reacting to the scattering of light caused by particles entering the light path, are widely used and extremely sensitive. Owing to higher standards imposed by Underwriters Laboratories, researchers have begun analyzing the properties of smoke particles. In particular, several wavelengths are used to classify particles by their scattering reactivity. The performances of actual smoke detectors are limited by their hardware and price. Therefore, properties that can distinguish particle types in these limited conditions must be determined. In addition, algorithms for extracting valid data intervals from unstable scattering data must be developed. In this study, scattering intensity ratios for three wavelengths are derived via simulations of light scattering by particles. An upper cumulative sum is defined for the three wavelengths, and an index for the start of particle inflow is extracted. In addition, valid intervals are extracted based on the scattering intensity ratios and the moving variance of adjacent wavelengths, and the properties of each particle are defined using the extracted indexes. For verification, a data acquisition device that can obtain data using the three selected wavelengths (470, 525, and 850 nm) from two sensors is designed. Five types of fire sources and non-fire alarm sources are selected and used in a test chamber designed to generate particle data. After applying the algorithm, the data in the valid data intervals can be used to derive a sample mean scattering intensity ratio that is more constant than that of the overall data or the data processed using the CUSUM index. In addition, the fire sources have a higher sample mean scattering intensity ratio than water vapor, which is a non-fire alarm source. The scattering intensity ratios for smoke particles can be extracted in real time via a comparison with experimental results obtained from the selected sensors.
ARM PA를 통한 경량화된 파일 디스크립터 권한 관리 시스템

프로세스 내부 격리(Intra-process Isolation)에서 파일 디스크립터는 메모리 이외에 또 다른 공격 벡터로써 작용한다. 공격자는 파일 디스크립터를 변조함으로 주어진 권한 이상의 파일에 읽거나 쓰는 방식을 통해 격리된 환경을 벗어날 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 ARM 아키텍처의 하드웨어 보안 기술인 PA(Pointer Authentication) 기반의 경량화된 새로운 파일 디스크립터의 권한 관리 시스템을 제시한다. 우리의 무결성 보장 기법은 리눅스 커널 모듈의 형태로 제작되었으며 5% 정도의 오버헤드만으로 파일 디스크립터에 대한 권한 관리를 수행하였다. In intra-process isolation, file descriptors work as another attack vector from the memory corruption attacks. The attacker can read or write by corrupting file descriptors so they can escape the isolation. In this paper, we propose new lightweight capability-based access control system on file descriptor using ARM’s hardware extension, PA(Pointer Authentication). Our system was implemented on Linux kernel module, only shows 5% overhead to control the access on the file descriptor.
Exploring Design Opportunities of Digital Platform for Ulsan MBC

This paper is part of a project to create a new digital platform that can address the various issues currently faced by Ulsan MBC as a local broadcasting station. The focus of the study is on what barriers Ulsan MBC has faced from the residents’ perspective and what enablers Ulsan MBC could deliver to them. For the study, four methodologies were employed: more specifically, it delves into the user study that concentrated on the value expected to be provided by Ulsan MBC, with a focus on the value of seeking for possible ways to improve the local environment through collaboration with residents, which was identified through preliminary desk research. The paper analyzes each of the user studies and compiles the ideas obtained at each stage through an emergent ideation process. As a result, three ideas emerged during the process, and one digital platform of them was developed. The implications of the results are discussed at the end.

<P>The Mus81-Eme1 complex is a structure-selective endonuclease with a critical role in the resolution of recombination intermediates during DNA repair after interstrand cross-links, replication fork collapse, or double-strand breaks. To explain the molecular basis of 3' flap substrate recognition and cleavage mechanism by Mus81-Eme1, we determined crystal structures of human Mus81-Eme1 bound to various flap DNA substrates. Mus81-Eme1 undergoes gross substrate-induced conformational changes that reveal two key features: (i) a hydrophobic wedge of Mus81 that separates pre- and post-nick duplex DNA and (ii) a '5' end binding pocket' that hosts the 5' nicked end of post-nick DNA. These features are crucial for comprehensive protein-DNA interaction, sharp bending of the 3' flap DNA substrate, and incision strand placement at the active site. While Mus81-Eme1 unexpectedly shares several common features with members of the 5' flap nuclease family, the combined structural, biochemical, and biophysical analyses explain why Mus81-Eme1 preferentially cleaves 3' flap DNA substrates with 5' nicked ends.</P>

마우스와 키보드와 같은 입력장치를 사용하여 할 수 있는 게임들은 많이 출시되었다. 그러나 최근에 키넥트와 Wii와 같이 인체를 움직여 인식을 받는 게임들이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 사람의 손 모션을 정확하게 인식하는 센서들 중 하나인 립 모션 컨트롤러를 사용하여 즐길 수 있는 야구게임 개발에 대하여 다룬다. 개발된 게임의 주요 요소는 캐릭터, 야구장이 속하는 배경, 애니메이션으로 구성되어 있으며, 3인칭 시점의 야구게임 형식으로 진행된다. 이 게임의 가장 큰 특징은 게임 사용자가 립모션 컨트롤러를 활용하여 색다른 게임 플레이가 가능하다는 점이다. While many games have been published that are used with input-devices such as a mouse and keyboard, the number of games that can recognize the behavior of a human utilizing devices such as Kinect and Wii has increased. In this paper, we present the development of a baseball game that utilizes a Leap Motion Controller. A Leap Motion Controller recognizes accurately the movement of a user`s fingers. Our implemented game consists of characters, a background and animation. It is a moving animated game in which the users play a game in point of view of a third person. The major feature of our game is that the game players can enjoy the game using a Leap Motion Controller.

<P>Conclusions: This study for the first time demonstrates that ER71/ETV2 alone can directly reprogram human postnatal cells to functional, mature ECs after an intervening transgene-free period. These rECs could be valuable for cell therapy, personalized disease investigation, and exploration of the reprogramming process.</P>
