        Diagnostic Imaging of Congenital Meningoencephalocele in a Holstein Calf

        A 10-day-old, Holstein calf with facial mass of 10 cm in diameter at the forehead region referred to Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Chungnam National University. The mass was soft and fluctuating swelling. It had normal skin and hair hanging forward from frontal region and was thought to contain cerebrospinal fluid.On the skull radiography, cauliflower like-irregular marginated, soft tissue opacity mass was identified craniodorsal to the frontal bone. The mass appeared as a cyst filled with anechoic fluid on ultrasonography. Soft tissue structures considered brain tissues were observed in the deep area of the mass. On the computed tomography, a large skull defect of left side frontal bone was found, and heterogeneous materials were exposed through the defect but exposure of cerebral meninges and brain tissue were not confirmative. On magnetic resonance imaging, herniated left brain parenchyma showed heterogenous T2 and T1 hyperinsensity. In the intracranium, T2 hyperinstense and T1 hypointense fluid was identified on the left side, instead of left cerebral parenchyma. Also leftward shift of right hemisphere and midline structure, including thalamus and midbrain, were observed. The definitive diagnosis was confirmed as a meningoencephalocele based on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The calf was euthanized and necropsy was performed. On necropsy, both hemisphere were developed unequally with different size. One side hemisphere was grown in the outside through 10 cm hole on the median plane.

        Comparison of symmetric and asymmetric routing for fixed two-hop cellular relaying network

We consider symmetric and asymmetric routing in uplink and downlink.         <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The electrohydrodynamic jet (EHD) printing technique allows for the direct printing of semiconducting polymer solutions to form desired patterns. Herein, an EHD-printed diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based copolymer, PTDPPSe-SiC5, was used as the active layer for the fabrication of ambipolar organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Under optimized EHD conditions, the measured hole and electron mobilities of the PTDPPSe-SiC5 OFETs were 0.75 and 1.08cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(Vs), which led to a better electrical performance than that displayed by OFETs containing the same polymer but deposited using the spin-coating technique.         Ambipolar charge transport of diketopyrrolepyrrole-silole-based copolymers and effect of side chain engineering: Compact model parameter extraction strategy for high-voltage logic applications

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The copolymers P24DPP-silole and P29DPP-silole, each composed of diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and silole derivatives, were synthesized using a Stille coupling reaction, and their electrical performances in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) and circuits were investigated. While both the as-spun OFETs exhibited quite low field-effect hole mobility values, the OFETs subjected to thermal annealing at 150 °C exhibited typical ambipolar transport characteristics with average hole and electron mobility values of 1 × 10<SUP>−1</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s) and 2 × 10<SUP>−3</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s).         Evaluation of Mammary Gland Calcification in Dogs; Radiography and Computed Tomography

        The mammary gland tumor (MGT) is the most common neoplasia in intact female dogs. Of these, 50% are malignant and metastasis to the other sites are often occurred. Therefore, it is very important for decision of treatment plan and prognosis to differentiate benign tumor from malignancies. Calcification of MGT is a very important imaging finding. The purpose of this study was to investigate the radiological and computed tomographic images of the MGT and the morphology and distribution of calcifications in the MGT using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System classification. A total of 42 dogs with MGT were included in this study. The dogs were divided into two groups into benign and malignant groups based upon histologic or cytologic results. The appearance of calcification in the tumor on radiographs and CT images was analyzed for the HU value of pre- and post-contrast injection, margin, surface, and shape of the tumor and the lymph node abnormalities. On radiographs, the positive predictive value of malignant and benign tumors was 72.72 and 85.71%, respectively. On CT examinations, the positive predictive value of malignant and benign tumors was the same value of 83.33%. The maximum diameter of the tumor and the presence of abnormal lymph nodes on CT images showed a strong correlation with malignancies. Therefore, it is thought that radiographs and CT provide useful information for evaluating MGT in dogs.

        도시열섬 완화를 위한 나무심기운동에 따른 지표면 온도 변화 분석 - 구미시를 사례로 -

        Due to climate change, temperature is rising worldwide. Since rapid growth has been achieved focused on cities, South Korea is experiencing serious environmental problems such as heat island and air pollution in urban areas. To solve this problem, the central and each local government are actively promoting tree planting campaigns. This study quantitatively calculated changes in green areas and vegetation of Gumi by the tree planting campaign, and analyzed the temperature changes accordingly. For the target area, the green area, vegetation index, and ground temperature were calculated for 4 different time periods using the given Landsat satellite images. As a result of the study, the green area of was increased by 7.24km<sup>2</sup> and 4.93km<sup>2</sup> for two regions, respectively. Accordingly, the vegetation index increased by 0.14 to 0.16, and the temperature decreased by 0.8 to 1.2℃. The Tree planting campaign not only plays a role in lowering the temperature of the city but also does various roles such as air purification, carbon absorption, and providing green rest areas to citizens. Therefore the campaign should be carried out continuously.

      • Side chain engineering in DTBDT-based small molecules for efficient organic photovoltaics

        <P>A new small-molecule donor with a dithieno[2,3-<I>d</I>:2′,3′-<I>d</I>′]-benzo[1,2-<I>b</I>:4,5-<I>b</I>′]-dithiophene (DTBDT) core and both alkyl and alkylthio substituents is designed and synthesized to improve the miscibility between DTBDT-based small molecules and [6,6]-phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM). The alkyl substituent on the 4-position and the alkylthio substituent on the 5-position of the substituted thiophene are expected to improve intermolecular interactions and prevent severe aggregation of the small molecules. The new small molecule, DTBDT-S-C8-TTR, exhibits a homogenous blend morphology with small domains and edge-on-oriented crystalline structures in blends with PC71BM, and give a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 8.43%. To recover the crystallinity of the DTBDT-S-C8-TTR small molecules weakened after being blended with PC71BM, a solvent vapor annealing (SVA) treatment is performed. The SVA-treated blend films reveal well-developed crystalline domains with interconnected fibrillar structures. This blend morphology allows efficient charge carrier transport in blends and leads to increased PCEs. The maximum PCE of 9.18% achieved using DTBDT-S-C8-TTR suggests that substituting both alkylthio and alkyl groups into DTBDT can yield small-molecule-based organic photovoltaics (OPVs) displaying improved photovoltaic performances.</P>

      • FTTH망에서 호스트멀티캐스트를 이용한 개인 인터넷 방송 시스템 설계 및 구현

        본 논문에서는 FTTH 환경에 의해 가입자까지 100Mbps 이상의 대역폭을 보장하면서 실제 서비스 되어질 수 있는 응용 시스템인 개인 인터넷 방송 시스템을 호스트 멀티캐스트 Scheme을 이용하여 설계 및 구현하였다. 전송 방식인 호스트 멀티캐스트에 대해 알아보고 개인 인터넷 방송 서버(Contents Provider)와 클라이언트(Host)의 구조에 효율적인 호스트 멀티캐스트 알고리즘인 Data Delivery Tree Algorithm(DDTA)를 제안하고, DDTA 알고리즘이 FTTH 환경에서 HDTV급 고화질 영상을 전송할 수 있는 개인 인터넷 방송 시스템에 효율적인 알고리즘이라는 것을 보인다.
